One standing in front of them blocking their escape, while the other had been the one to launch the unsuccessful sneak attack earlier.

Not just that, but as he took in the current situation, he realized that his uncle was not exactly in an optimal condition either. Having suffered a deep cut across his back when he rushed in and grabbed him earlier. Not from one of the two Core Formation Realm assassins, but instead from his trusted follower, who had taken the chance while his uncle had been entirely focused on the two powerful assassins to launch a deadly sneak attack.

Even worse, he could clearly see and feel that both the attack he had suffered along with the one his uncle had ended up suffering were done with poisoned blades. Meaning that their strength was growing weaker with each passing second that they remained passive... By far, this was the worst possible situation that Jiang Li had ever found himself in, as he felt there was absolutely no way for him to do anything to fight back in his current situation where the poison was close to knocking him out. The only thing that made it worse was that his trusted follower was clearly one of the people behind this assassination attempt. Making him feel a sense of betrayal that he hadn’t imagined possible, as he partly felt a wave of helplessness that he had never felt before washing over him.

No! I can’t just give up without fighting back! That would just make me some useless coward!

However, as he felt the helplessness of his current situation and wanted to give up, the proud and arrogant part of him suddenly reared its head, as the helplessness he felt about the current situation was quickly replaced by a profound anger towards the follower that had betrayed him alongside the cowardly Core Formation Realm cultivators who had ambushed someone far weaker than themselves and even gone as far as use poison to weaken him even further.

Making him more confident in his first guess that their sneaky ambush had been because they feared him.

As for the trusted follower who had betrayed him? Jiang Li couldn’t care less about that fallen follower of his, as he posed no threat to him at his current level.

Smiling arrogantly in a manner no different from when he had faced off against the demon beast at the Second Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm earlier, Jiang Li didn’t even show the slightest bit of hesitation as he charged towards the Core Formation Realm assassin who had stabbed him earlier. Not feeling the slightest bit of threat from the assassin who had barely reached the Second Stage of the Core Formation Realm.

"Hmph! How arrogant!" Seeing this, the assassin who ended up being targeted could not help sneering disdainfully as he prepared himself to clash with the little prince who seemed more like a ferocious demon beast as he charged towards him than a young prince who had barely reached the age of 14.

Though the rapid breakthrough of the young prince was surprising, he was still only in the Foundation Establishment Realm and after calming down a bit, the assassin at the Core Formation Realm realized that there was nothing for him to worry about as he charged out to meet the prince head on-

However, contrary to his expectations, he was almost instantly overwhelmed by the terrifying strength of the young prince, as it was nothing like clashing with a fellow cultivator, but more so felt like he had just clashed with a demon beast at the Core Formation Realm. If the assassination had originally been difficult to accomplish even with everything going smoothly, then now that the prince had gained the strength to fight someone in the Core Formation Realm, it had been rendered completely impossible for them to complete their original goal, as even getting away alive had suddenly become a challenge.

After all, they might be able to outrun the prince and his uncle, but if they were delayed for too long, the Nascent Soul Realm seniors from the capital would show up. At which point it would become impossible for them to get away alive...

Giving him no chance to escape no matter how hard he tried, as he soon enough felt the terrifying presence of a Nascent Soul Ream cultivator appearing and knew that the seniors behind the little prince had appeared.

Although... It was clear that none of them bothered to attack him and instead allowed the little prince to continue his battle, as it was clear that he had been judged as a perfect training dummy for the young prince in the eyes of the Nascent Soul Realm senior who had appeared.

Filled with hatred as he thought about this, the Core Formation Realm cultivator decided to let go of his desire to escape and instead poured everything he had into one final attack.
