Sebastian doesn't know why, but the place that was supposed to be the most secure venue on the human side was under attack.

He was one of the soldiers escorting the two royalties to the venue so they could meet their son and witness him in his glorious moments.

Sebastian was pretty much excited, which was quite unnatural for him, to bring them to the venue.

Despite whatever had happened until now the man still hoped this family wouldn't break—that explains his excitement.

However, en route, they were attacked by several demons one after another. They weren't demonic humans whom he fought back in Drenovar. Rather, they all were pure-blood demons from the other side.

*SQUELCH*

He swung his dagger and slit the throat of the goblin that lunged at his back.

**BOOOOM**

Ducking under the fireball, he threw several throwables in the mage's direction, which exploded upon contact.

'There is no end to this...' Sebastian was quite anxious at the moment. All the soldiers have died and inside the carriages were the two most important individuals of Eryndor.

He had no idea why the Union Council hadn't sent any reinforcement. And if this continues, Sebastian has a bleak hope they will survive today.

Although the King is a strong warrior, his current condition would prevent him from fighting for long.

Sebastian barely caught his breath. The bodies of demons piled up around him, their blood staining his armor. He was panting, his vision shaking, but there was no time to stop.

A screech tore through the battlefield. A massive demon, its skin like a cracked stone, charged at him.

Sebastian twisted his body, dodging the first swing of its jagged blade, but the second came too fast—SLASH!

Pain exploded in his side. His armor cracked, blood spilling down his waist. He stumbled back, but before the demon could strike again, he lunged forward, driving his dagger into its eye.

The creature howled. Sebastian twisted the blade and yanked it out. Black blood splattered across his face. He shoved the dying demon aside and turned—

A spear shot toward him. He barely managed to deflect it, but the force sent him crashing to the ground. His ears rang. His body screamed.

Suddenly a blade zapped toward him.

Sebastian's eyes widened. His heartbeat reached the limit.

Just when the blade was inches away from penetrating his skull,

*Shling*

A sword intercepted the projectile.

A sword well too familiar to him.

"*Gruooh*" The orc howled as the man jumped forward and plunged the blade inside its massive head before hanging with the blade, he split apart the monster from the middle.

Cedric cleaved those monsters that ran towards them, before he stabbed his sword in the ground, before a stone wall erected around them.

Extending his hand toward the fallen butler, the King said, "There is no end to them."

Sebastian took his hand, and while groaning a little, he got up.

The barrier was already breaking and in the distance, Sebastian could see that demonic wyverns were advancing in their direction. And once they are here...not any barrier would be able to stop them.

Both men knew that this was a losing war. However, neither of them was ready to give up until their last breath.

Inside the carriage, Sophie clasped her hand. All she could feel right now was anxiety as she kept praying for help to arrive.

'Please...anyone....'

"Here they come!" Cedric voiced as he held his sword with both hands, as he saw the wyvern opening its maw—flames gathering at the opening.

Sebastian was ready to push away the King and put himself before the man he had sworn to protect—but then,

**CRACKLE**

A figure appeared above the wyvern.

Sebastian's eyes widened.

That person was familiar.

He lunged into the air, tightly holding his weapon.

"Young master...." Those words were followed by a massive explosion.

**BOOOOOOOOOM**

His mace, a mountain of steel in his hands, came down like judgment itself. It caved through the wyvern's skull in an instant, splitting it open down to the neck. Bone exploded. Brains and blood burst outward in a thick, steaming spray.

The sheer force drove the wyvern straight into the ground. The air howled as its massive body plummeted like a meteor, its bones shattering on impact.

Flesh ripped apart as the ground caved beneath it, leaving a crater filled with crushed organs and splintered remains.

The rock barrier shattered as Cedric saw his son on top of the dead wyvern, his mace still plunged inside the dead demon's head.

Austin glanced at the duo, before throwing something at Sebastian, "Drink it and relax."

Sebastian caught the vial and was about to offer assistance—

*Crackle*

—only to find Austin disappearing.

Lightning tore the sky apart as Austin vanished.

He reappeared amid the enemy ranks, Raijin crashing down. A thunderclap shook the battlefield, and in an instant, dozens exploded—bodies ripped apart, bones shattered, flesh burned black.

Before the smoke cleared, Ashen Maul was already swinging. It slammed into the ground, and a wave of scorching embers erupted outward. Armor melted. Skin charred. Screams filled the air before being swallowed by the roaring inferno.

A spear shot toward him.

Austin tilted his head.

His Shard grew in an instant, slicing through the weapon, the wielder, and three more behind him. He twisted, flicking the blood off as the dagger shrunk back.

An army of hundreds stood before him.

Austin stepped forward.

Raijin flashed. Thunder roared.

The slaughter began.

A massive warrior lunged, blade raised.

Austin vanished—then reappeared above him.

Ashen Maul crashed down. The warrior collapsed like a crushed insect, his armor melting into his flesh as flames devoured him from the inside out. The ground beneath him caved, charred black, leaving only a smoking crater.

Arrows rained from above.

Austin flicked his wrist.

His Shard expanded mid-air, spinning like a bladed storm. Every arrow shattered. Every archer fell in pieces. He caught the dagger mid-spin, barely glancing at the corpses before moving again.

Seeing his son weaving through the forces, Cedric had his eyes parted wide. He could barely trace Austin with his eyes and those three weapons he handled with such brilliance.

"Sebastian...is he really Austin?" Cedric couldn't help but ask.

Sophie was shocked beyond belief as well, as she saw the scene beyond comprehension.

The same child who had a hard time killing his first demonic beast two years ago...was slaughtering these demons as if they were nothing but ripen crops ready to be cultivated.

Whenever Austin went, destruction descended.

The monsters were no longer focused on the carriage but on the human that was restlessly moving through the battlefield and decreasing the numbers at an inhumane pace.

**BOOOOM**

Austin ducked under the flame ball before he turned towards the mage who had been hiding behind its comrades until now.

"Let me handle him-" Cedric offered help, thinking that his son was too far from the mage.

However, "It's okay," As Austin said, he brought his raised hand down, and instantly something zipped down the air before an explosion occurred

**BOOOOOM**

Every being near the target was damaged by the boomerang that came crashing down at a pace that was impossible to dodge

And the mage at which it was directed...well, one might find the evidence of its presence if they collected its splattered innards and blood.

"*GRUOOOOOH*" Suddenly a loud roar echoed, sending a shiver down Sophie's spine as she got out of the carriage.

"Austin!" She shouted as she saw the ten-foot-tall golem a few meters away from him.

Austin was genuinely surprised to hear that voice...and the concern laced in her tone

However, nothing stopped him from lunging at the monster.

Index finger tightly pressed against the thumb.

Austin appeared before the Golem in a heartbeat, jumped in the air, and then

**FLICK**

A single flick it all took before the golem's face exploded.

The strength behind that flick was powered by the strength of [Retaliation]

Even Sebastian couldn't hide his shock this time.

...that monster was at least C-rank...

Cedric and Sebastian's mouths were parted while Sophie covered her mouth in pure astonishment.

Seeing their in-field commander exploding into nothingness, the other demons started to feel it.

A very primal feeling that every being is born with.

Fear.

*CLANG*

*Dhak*

Their weapons dropped, and their body shook.

Austin's cold eyes turned towards the horde, and instantly, the demonic beast jumped away and began to run.

Austin sighed seeing them rushing away from the battlefield.

'Seriously...I thought they were driven by their goal...turned out, they are just like humans.' Austin thought as he summoned all his weapons back to him and stored them in the 'Inventory'.

Just as he squatted to pick up his beloved boomerang, he heard a very familiar and feminine voice,

"A-Austin.." He didn't need to turn to know who called him. For fifteen years, he has heard this voice daily.

Austin didn't turn towards them before saying, "Follow me. I will take you to safety."

Sophie's raised hand lost its strength as she lowered her head.

Soon her husband came to her side and held her shoulder.

She looked at him before Cedric gave a soft nod to her.

The trio soon began to follow the blond Prince.
