Criminal X : Epitome Of Evil-Chapter 347: The False Target
Chapter 347: The False Target
Flashy and Nike had successfully done their part.
Now all came down to Pablo and Draxus.
If they made a mistake it would be their fault and it would be nearly impossible for them to recover.
Nevertheless, fear of failure would never stop Pablo.
He would dive straight in with confidence and deal with everything that would be thrown at him.
Therefore, he started doing his part. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
He was inside Draxus’ shadow and Draxus’ shadow was outside a door.
Outside the door of Ted’s room that is.
"Shall we, czar?" Draxus asked.
"Yes."
Draxus nodded and slid his shadow under the door.
Now they were inside Ted’s room.
They made sure not to talk even inside the shadow as they didn’t know what Ted was capable of.
First, they made sure that Ted was in his room or not.
He was.
He was sitting on his bed, his eyes dead set on the door.
’He must be waiting for me.’
Pablo decided to change his plan a little.
He gestured to Draxus to move back outside.
Draxus obliged and now they were again outside the door.
"We will do it from here." Pablo said.
"Sure."
Pablo took out a paper from his bracelet.
He had already written something on it before coming here.
His hand came out of the shadow and with no noise, Pablo slid the paper inside.
After that, Draxus instantly shifted his shadow to three rooms away from Ted’s room.
The next second...
THUK!
Ted’s door swung open.
The soldier came outside and hastily looked left and right.
Of course he won’t be able to find Pablo.
"That bastard. Where did he go?" Ted cursed and closed the gate again.
Draxus’ shadow moved.
It again reached outside the door.
But then...
THUK!
Ted opened the door again.
Draxus and Pablo didn’t expect that so they remained still.
The shadow moved not even an inch.
But their worries were for nothing.
Because this time, Ted paid no attention to his surroundings.
He just opened the door and started walking away.
"He read the paper, czar."
"Yes. I kind of knew he would react like that."
"What did you write on it?" Draxus asked.
"You don’t know?" Pablo asked in return.
"You never told me that. You wrote it after sending all of us away."
"Right. Well, I just wrote that I will be waiting at ground 0. If you are a real man with only one father, then come alone and settle this."
"I see. You played with his Ego."
"Yes. I don’t want him to come with Fozier or any other person. He should come alone. And he also thinks he can defeat me. So why not?"
Draxus nodded. "I understand. Now the next part?"
"Yes. Drop me at the decided spot and then go where you are supposed to go."
"Alright."
Draxus started moving his shadow again and this time, with speed.
Draxus needed to reach somewhere and he also needed to drop Pablo at a location as well.
Time was of the essence.
Therefore, in just two minutes, Draxus reached a spot.
He looked left and right and saw only one soldier, sleeping in a chair.
"There is a guard, czar."
Pablo came out of the shadow anyway.
He wasn’t empty handed though.
He had Colt on his hand and he stood in front of the guard.
"Hey." Pablo spoke.
The guard jolted. "Who’s there?!"
"Good night."
SHRILL!
THUD!
Pablo swung Colt and the guard went to sleep forever.
His head fell off.
Pablo turned his head to the shadow.
"Make good use of his body."
Draxus’ shadow moved and it gobbled the guard’s body and head inside it.
"He was already sleeping, czar. You could have done your work without him knowing."
"I won’t risk it. If he had gotten up and saw me then that would be problematic."
"As you say."
"Now go. Ring me when you are done."
"Yes."
Draxus’ moved his shadow again and with full speed went towards his chosen location.
Pablo was on the top of a tower and now he would just wait for Draxus’ miss call.
Very soon, Draxus reached the place and now things would play out on their own.
———
The second Marshal, Luther, left his room and with heavy strides walked towards the ground 0.
He would kill the killer of his son. He lost his whole family in just one day. He won’t let the killer roam free and alive.
He would have his revenge.
Meanwhile, just like Luther, Ted also had the same thoughts.
He won’t let the killer of his friends roam alive. He should have killed the killer when he had the chance. But this time he would surely do it. He won’t not let the killer go away.
He would have his revenge.
Eventually, Ted reached ground 0.
And so did Luther.
They both entered from different entrances and they were in front of each other.
Though, they couldn’t see each other’s faces.
There was no source of light in ground 0. All they could make out was a silhouette of a person.
But that was enough for them to know that someone was standing in front of them.
"Brave of you to come here alone." Ted spoke.
"As if I will be afraid of you, you bastard." Luther barked.
"You can’t kill me, you know. Your revenge ends here." Ted said.
"It’s just begun, asshole."
"Hmm? Your voice seems... different. Are you not P-"
FWISH!
Something flew from behind Luther and it went straight towards Ted.
Ted saw it too late and before he knew it, he couldn’t speak further.
Because that thing was a knife and it went straight inside Ted’s mouth.
It stabbed him.
"Augh. Wwgghh!"
Ted groaned and mumbled. He couldn’t form words.
Luther didn’t know what happened.
He only felt something going past him.
But his anger didn’t let him think about anything.
He came here to kill Ted and he would only do that.
But there was a shadow behind Luther.
It was unseen in the darkness but there definitely was a darker shadow and it was alive.
’I am glad I hit it on the first try.’
It was of course Draxus. He was the one who stabbed Ted.
Ted was just going to take Pablo’s name so Draxus did some fast work.
Pablo had told him everything that could happen at ground 0 so Draxus was prepared beforehand.
On the other hand...
"How dare you kill my son!"
Luther pounced on Ted.
Ted fell down.
Luther was above him.
Ted finally saw Luther.
And when he saw him, his eyes went wide.
"Mggh! Nnghh!"
Ted rapidly shook his head left and right. He wanted to scream that he was not the real killer. He didn’t kill Luther’s son.
But the knife in his mouth prevented him from doing so.
He moved his hands to try to remove the knife but Luther didn’t let him do that.
He held Ted’s hands with both his hands and glared at the soldier.
"How dare you kill my son. How dare you! I will skin you alive!"
Luther was enraged, his teeth grinded so hard their sound echoed in the ground.
His screams were painful. He was bloodthirsty for Ted.
"I know about your Ego. I know why no one is able to kill you. I know. But that is meaningless against me. I will destroy you!"
Ted could only let out muffled noises and Luther wasn’t sane enough right now to hear them.
The next second, Luther’s eyes glowed purple and Ted shivered.
He has heard about the second Marshal’s power now he would watch it first hand.
Draxus also came near the two of them and he would certainly like to watch Luther using his Ego.
He would surely tell Pablo about it.
Ted was on the receiving end and he wasn’t able to overpower Luther’s strength. The second Marshal was too strong for him. He was just a soldier.
"Regret what you did."
Luther spoke and in an instant, Ted’s skin began to come off.
Draxus would have not believed it if he wasn’t present there.
From Ted’s forehead, his skin was being peeled off on its own. Slowly.
Draxus was sure Luther was deliberately doing it slowly. He wanted to give Ted pain.
Ted’s hairs fell off.
Red muscles and membranes were visible as the skin was coming off.
"Your skin allows you to minimize the damage of any attacks, right? Nothing works against you because of your skin. Your skin protects you, I know. But tell me this..."
Luther’s eyes glowed brighter.
"Who protects your skin?"
Ted let out muffle voices again but this time in pain.
Luther was literally skinning him alive.
Ted’s skin was coming off like a layer of wood coming off from a wooden log.
First the forehead, then it went to the cheeks, then it went to the head, then mouth, then neck and slowly, Ted’s whole body was turning naked.
Draxus would have turned his head away if not for his loyalty towards Pablo.
He couldn’t see the inner body of Ted. It was horrendous.
Soon, Ted’s whole body was ripped off of its skin.
Luther then stood up in front of Ted and Draxus didn’t know if Ted was even alive or not.
"Rot in hell."
Luther spoke and took out a sword from his bracelet.
Then without waiting for anything, Luther swung the sword.
A clean cut took place on Ted’s neck and just after that, Draxus did what he was told.
He missed call Pablo.
Pablo’s receiver rang just for one moment and after that, his lips curled up.
"It’s the endgame now."
Pablo stood up and walked towards a gong.
Yes. He was there. The place where the gong was.
Pablo picked up the thick wooden club and with full power...
He slammed it on the metal gong.
TUNG!
Like that, the gong of death was rang.
