Criminal X : Epitome Of Evil-Chapter 328: Almost Died
Pablo's hands were on Kony's hands.
Kony had his eyes closed but all the eyes were on Pablo. They would notice any expression Pablo would make.
The first question he was asked during this lie detection test was if he killed Dilinger or not.
Draxus remained calm but only from the outside, on the inside, he was in turmoil.
He was ready with his shadow if a situation of escaping arrived.
Pablo, on the other hand, took his time.
He doesn't know how Kony's Ego works so he can't just say the first thing that comes to his mind.
'Fuck it. I'll deal with this like a regular lie detection test.'
He made up his mind and answered :
"No."
'I didn't kill Dinger. I just pushed him inside the container and cut his hands and legs. The oil did the killing.'
"He is telling the truth." Kony said.
Pablo sighed and Ted clicked his tongue.
Fozier also felt relieved.
"Anything else, Ted?" He asked.
"Yes." Ted said and asked one more question :
"Have we met anywhere before this day?"
"No." Pablo answered right away.
'You didn't meet me. You met the original owner of this body.'
"Again the truth." Kony said.
Ted frowned. "But then why do I feel like I have seen you somewhere before?"
Pablo looked at Fozier. "Marshal, you were suspicious that I killed Dilinger but now your suspicion should have gone away. No more questions are required."
Fozier nodded. "Yes. You can sto-"
"Are you afraid of more questions?" Ted spoke between Fozier.
Pablo turned his head at him.
"I obeyed this test because of the First Marshal. I answered the question he wanted to ask and now I am not obligated to your concerns, soldier. I may be younger than you but I am a Marshal."
Pablo let go of Kony's hands and stood up.
He walked towards Ted and stopped in front of his face.
"I am not here to entertain your selfish wishes."
Pablo made himself clear and without waiting for Ted's retort, he turned to Fozier.
"Marshal, if one more killing happens, call me right away. I will find your killer then. I have nothing to do here right now. I am going."
"Alright."
Fozier accepted and Pablo began walking towards the exit of the ground.
"Wait." Someone shouted.
Pablo knew the voice.
It was Ted.
'What's his problem?'
Pablo turned around, looking at Ted.
"What?"
"Your friend. Now your friend should do this test." Ted proposed.
'This bitch.'
Pablo looked beside him where Draxus stood.
The man showed no emotions on his face but Pablo could understand Draxus was surprised. He must be.
"You are still not satisfied? What is this, Marshal?" Pablo looked at Fozier.
Fozier opened his mouth but Ted chimed in.
"Marshal, this man played as a detective. He fooled many people at once. Lying is his forte. He could bypass Kony's test. That's why we should ask his friend to take the test."
"Why are you so against the ten Marshal, Ted?" Fozier asked.
"I am not against him. I just find him familiar and he isn't telling me how. He is hiding something. And don't forget, Marshal, none of your soldiers were dead until this man arrived as a Marshal. There is something wrong here."
Ted nearly pleaded Fozier to suspect Pablo. The Abyssal Butcher would not stay still until Pablo faced some kind of problem.
Seeing Ted's desperation, Fozier couldn't help but accept the proposition.
"What do you say, Pablo? If you have nothing to hide then your soldier could take the test as well."
"I will ask my soldier if he wants to take the test or not. Just like you accept everything your soldiers say, I will also do the same."
"Sure."
Pablo glanced at Draxus.
"Will you take the test?" He asked.
Draxus answered right away. "I will. The result will be the same anyway."
Pablo smiled.
"It's settled then. Let's go."
They both walked towards the center of the ground again and this time Draxus sat in front of Kony.
Pablo remained standing behind Draxus.
Giving both his hands to Kony, Draxus took a deep breath and Ted asked the first question.
"Did your Marshal killed Dilinger?"
"No." Draxus answered the same as Pablo.
"Truth." Kony said.
"Then did you kill Dilinger?"
"No." Draxus answered.
"Truth." Kony affirmed.
"Tch. Then did you see Dilinger getting killed in front of you?"
"No." Draxus replied the same.
"Truth." Kony repeated the same thing as well.
Ted kicked the ground.
"Then do you know who killed Dilinger?"
"How should I know that?" Draxus replied.
"Only yes or no. Do you know the killer or not?"
"Probably oil?" Draxus said and a thin smile appeared on Pablo's lips.
Fozier had explained to Pablo and Draxus what he had seen inside the red room. So Draxus' answer was right and not at all, suspicion worthy.
"Truth." Kony also accepted the answer.
"This is bullshit. He never replied in yes or no. Did your Marshal di-"
"That's enough."
Pablo raised his hand.
'I have to stop this.'
"Get up, Draxus. It's over." He said.
Draxus instantly got up.
Ted opened his mouth but Pablo shot him a glare.
He walked towards the Abyssal Butcher again.
"I have tolerated you enough, soldier. You have seen me somewhere before. You have seen me somewhere before. I don't know where you have seen me but if you keep doing this, I know where will you see me in the future."
Pablo's red eyes pierced the very soul of Ted.
"In your nightmares."
"Don't be angry, Pablo. He was just testing the truths." Fozier said from behind.
Pablo clenched his jaw. He didn't looked at Fozier. His eyes remained on Ted.
"The only thing he was testing was my patience. If he speaks anything again, I'll prove your suspicions right by really killing one of your soldiers right now."
"He won't do that again. Forgive him." Fozier said once more.
Pablo glared at Ted for a few more seconds but finally he looked away.
"I am going, Marshal. If one of your soldiers dies again, tell me. And if this soldier dies, then don't think that I have killed him. I am not fond of killing in secret. If I ever decided to kill him, I'll do it in front of you."
Pablo finished talking and with Draxus, he finally left the ground.
Ted didn't spoke anything to stop Pablo this time.
Fozier sighed and came towards Ted.
"You almost died today, you know that."
"As long as you are here, I won't die. You won't let it happen." Ted replied but Fozier shook his head.
"Don't be too confident on my strength, kid. I am seventy years old and only after reaching fifty years was I able to gather enough strength to kill a Demon. But that man…"
Fozier stared at the exit of the ground where Pablo had just left.
"He is not even half of my age and had already killed a full fledged Demon. That's why I am saying you almost died today. Because you did."
