Chapter 136: Revenge partner

Braelyn’s POV

One condition, I wondered what that might be.

I swallowed hard, forcing a lump down. "Which is?"

"You repay the favour when I ask."

A chill slipped down my spine. " I expected a bit of resistance."

"I already have all the answers I need. The details don’t matter," he said smoothly. "And I don’t need morals getting in the way."

A grin was plastered on his face. "This is surely going to lighten up the mood." He chimed.

I hesitated, then exhaled slowly. I’d come this far. Trusting him felt insane. He was a ticking bomb but so was everything else tonight

He tilted his head. "So, my little villainess, what is our plan? Do you want to bomb the company headquarters or corrupt their data?" His eyes sparkled in mischief and I laughed at his childish schemes. We both knew that wasn’t enough to bring down Raphael

Although I didn’t want to admit it, he was a cold genius. One without a heart at this point.

"I have a plan," I said slowly, "Or at least... the skeleton of one."

His brows lifted. "Go on."

"Killian," I said. "He’s been quietly acting against Volkov Apex. Feeding information. Undermining deals. Raphael sees him as a threat, and honestly, he is the boldest one ever. I don’t know his interest but I have a feeling he would be worth the shot."

Lucien’s expression shifted, his interest sharpening. He was thrown into deep thoughts. "So what is the problem?" He said, sensing the issue.

"The problem," I continued, "is I can’t reach him. Killian Orlov, the CEO of New Horizon Holdings, is actually a ghost with little to no information."

.

"And you chose to take the risk for him." Lucien’s words struck me. I glanced away for a moment. My thoughts spun around

"I guess I am desperate." I quite admit. He drew in a breath then leaned back against his seat, a thoughtful hum leaving his lips. "I can find him, at least I think so," he muttered.

My eyes sparkled, finally seeing a light at the end of the dark tunnel. My head snapped up. "You can?"

"I have connections," he said simply. "People who owe me favours. No matter how much he is a ghost, as long as he exists, there is a chance I can find him," he said confidently, and I saw no reason not to believe him.

The relief flooded my chest so suddenly that it almost felt dizzying. I had been searching without any leads, and finally, there was hope.

"But," he added, glancing at the road as he restarted the engine, "before we start destroying empires.."

His eyes flicked to me.

"...we have other matters to deal with tonight."

My pulse jumped, I wasn’t sure which terrified me more. The revenge I’d just set in motion or the man sitting beside me, smiling like he couldn’t wait to watch the world burn with me.

My cheeks burned understanding what he meant.

******

It was deep into the night when Lucien’s call drove into his villa. "Here we are. " He chimed. I stepped out of the car as soon as he switched off the engine.

Lucien chuckled. "You really have something against me holding the door for you." He snickered and I nervously laughed. I was too nervous to wait for him to open the door.

Lucien didn’t tease further, noticing how nervous I was. The way my fingers clutched the bag. My eyes wandered around trying to distract myself.

"I expected you to be more of a big city boy." I joked, staring at the villa and noticing the quiet environment.

Lucien smiled. I expected him to be someone who breathes chaos. He walked to my side.

I watched it properly now, standing beside him.

The villa stretched before us with bright lights pouring from inside through tall glass windows glowing faintly from within.

The Light spilt across the night, bringing the house to life. It was a beautiful modern villa. The design was a breath of fresh air different from the chaos he breathes.

The air was colder up here, far from the chaos of a bustling city. Just the faint rustle of leaves and the low hum of power running through the house. It made my skin prickle.

Lucien watched me, not the villa. His expression was unreadable, lips curved in something that wasn’t quite a smile.

"You’re staring," he said lightly.

"It’s... peaceful," I replied, the word feeling strange on my tongue. "I didn’t know you also loved peace."

He let out a soft chuckle. "I deal with chaos all day. I don’t need it following me home."

That made an unsettling sense. The doors were impossibly tall, seamless panes of glass that reflected us back, him relaxed with his hands tucked in his pockets and me clutching my bag like it might save me from whatever I’d walked into.

Lucien took a step toward the entrance, then paused when he noticed I hadn’t followed.

He glanced back at me, eyes sharp but oddly gentle. "You’ll catch a cold standing there."

His voice dropped, coaxing rather than commanding.

"Come in, Braelyn."

The doors unlocked with a quiet hum and slid open effortlessly. Warm light spilt out, brushing over my skin, inviting and dangerous all at once.

I hesitated for half a second.

Then I stepped inside.

The door closed behind me with a soft click, sealing us in and somehow, I knew there would be no turning back from whatever I’d just agreed to.

Lucien pulled off his jacket and started to undo his shirt as he headed up the stairs. "Come with me." He instructed, heading towards his bedroom. I stood at a spot drawing in a deep breath to calm my nerves before heading upstairs.

I got to his bedroom door and then pushed the door open. It creaked slowly and I stepped into the dark room. "Lucien.." I called slowly. My heart was beating slowly.

My eyes glanced around the dark room until they fell on a figure sitting in a corner of the room. The lights flickered on illuminating the room in a dim blue hue

Her heart started to beat rapidly once I took in his figure. He was sitting on an armchair, a glass of whiskey in his hand. His bare chest was exposed with only trousers on him and a mysterious mask on

What gave me chills and excitement was the mask he had on. Sitting under the dim lights he looked like a freaking temptation even with his face covered.

My eyes went wide and my folds got excited immediately. I never knew I had a mask kinky.

"Close the door Viper. It’s time for your punishment " he said with a hoarse voice.

"Lucien.." I gasped. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

He dropped the glass. His gaze was keen on me. "Enough talk Viper. " He drawled.

"Shut the door and strip." My breath hitched. What did he have in mind?

I couldn’t see his expression but I was certain he had a smirk on his lips. "I want you to crawl to me, Viper. It’s time to teach you how to listen to instructions."

I could hear my heartbeat in my ears.
