Contract Marriage with My Secret Partner in Crime-Chapter 17: Fight
Chapter 17: Fight
As soon as the fight was inevitable, Eclipse practically lit up.
"Finally!" she burst out, cracking her knuckles as her entire body thrummed with excitement.
She'd been itching for this. It had been far too long since she was allowed to go all out. The last few missions had restricted her from fighting, forcing her to hold back when all she wanted was to break things. To move. To fight.
What was the point of all her years of training if she never got to use them? What a damn waste!
With a wild grin, Eclipse shot forward—her movements so swift that the men barely had time to react.
The first target never even saw her coming.
A sharp kick slammed into his gut, sending him crashing into three others like a human bowling ball. Eclipse barely paused before twisting around, ducking under an incoming attack, and using the momentum to launch herself at the next man. Her fist connected with his jaw in a brutal uppercut, sending him flying backward.
She laughed—loud, exhilarated, completely in her element.
"This is so much better than hacking!" she yelled, flipping over a stunned opponent's head before landing a precise kick to his back. "This is what I live for!"

The men barely had time to process what was happening. Eclipse moved like the wind—fast, precise, untouchable. Every hit she landed was perfectly executed, each movement blending into the next like a perfectly choreographed dance.
One man tried to grab her from behind.
She ducked.
Another swung a bat at her head.
She twisted, dodging with effortless grace before delivering a spinning kick to his ribs.
Another group of men tried to rush her at once.
Eclipse tsked, darting between them with ease. "You guys are so slow!"
With a gleeful laugh, she struck—elbows, fists, knees, feet—every attack landing in a blur of motion. The men staggered, barely able to keep up, their bodies reacting far too late to avoid the onslaught.
One of them foolishly tried to grab her wrist.
Eclipse raised a brow.
"Seriously?" She wrenched her arm free with ease, twisting his wrist in return before slamming her palm into his chest, sending him flying into a group of his comrades.
She clicked her tongue. "You should eat more before joining a fight. You're too thin."
Another man, noticeably bulkier, stepped up next.
Eclipse's eyes sparkled with interest. "Ooooh, now we're talking!"
He swung a massive fist at her, but she sidestepped effortlessly, her movements almost lazy in comparison.
Then, without hesitation, she struck—twisting and driving a sharp elbow straight into his rock-solid stomach.
Nothing.
She blinked.
Then grinned.
"Alright, now we're getting serious!"
The man smirked, clearly confident in his size. But his amusement vanished when Eclipse suddenly crouched low and swept his legs out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground.
She stood over him, hands on her hips.
"All muscles but no real strength, huh? Damn, what a waste," she said with a sigh.
The man groaned in pain.
Eclipse shook her head. "Tsk tsk."
Meanwhile, Obscura stood a few steps away, watching the spectacle with a deadpan expression.
This woman was a lost cause.
He let out a frustrated sigh. "Fighting makes her this happy? Tsk."
Unlike Eclipse, who was bouncing around the battlefield like an overexcited child in a candy store, Obscura approached the fight with an entirely different energy—calm, nonchalant, almost bored.
The men in front of him were still frozen, completely stunned by Eclipse's movements.
He could practically see their thoughts.
"This guy is a devil!"
Wait—no. They probably thought Eclipse was a man.
Obscura inwardly sighed, remembering that Eclipse was still disguised as a young man for this mission. As far as he knew, only he was aware that she was actually a woman.
...And the memory of how he found out sent an involuntary shiver down his spine.
Nope. Not going to think about that.
For now, he had his own fight to deal with.
"Hmm, excuse me," he said, tilting his head at the nearest men.
They blinked at him.
Then, as if realizing they had been ignoring him, they finally snapped out of their daze.
Bad move.
Without warning, Obscura punched the closest one in the face. The man crumpled instantly.
Another lunged at him from the side. Obscura barely glanced his way before grabbing the attacker's wrist and twisting it sharply, forcing him to the ground with a pained yelp.
Effortlessly, he kicked another one square in the chest, sending him staggering backward.
Unlike Eclipse, who was loud and wild in her movements, Obscura fought with quiet precision. His strikes were clean, efficient, and brutal. No unnecessary movements. No wasted energy.
But unfortunately, the Runners had numbers.
That was the annoying part.
Even though they weren't particularly skilled—just a bunch of hired bodies with no real knowledge of who they were up against—the sheer amount of them made the fight exhausting.
Obscura exhaled through his nose as another wave of men rushed toward them.
As expected, Eclipse had already taken down almost half of them within just fifteen minutes.
Of course.
She was too overpowered in fights.
Not that he was bad at it—he just didn't like this sort of exhausting thing.
"Oi, move far away from me!" Eclipse suddenly barked, briefly pausing her beatdown to glare at him.
Obscura didn't answer.
Because, honestly, he couldn't.
The Runners weren't exactly giving them space to fight separately. They just kept coming together, forcing them into close quarters.
Eclipse clicked her tongue in irritation, throwing a sharp elbow into the face of the nearest man before attempting to shift further away.
But before she could—
Another Runner lunged at her.
Obscura instinctively stepped in, grabbing the attacker by the collar and slamming him onto the ground.
Eclipse glanced at him, then huffed. "Tch. Fine. Stay in my space, then."
Obscura said nothing.
The fight dragged on, but it didn't last long.
Within twenty-two minutes, the entire room was filled with groaning bodies—some unconscious, some barely clinging to consciousness.
Eclipse stood in the middle of it all, hands on her hips, looking entirely too satisfied.
"Ahhh, that was so good," she sighed happily, stretching her arms. "Finally got to let out all that pent-up frustration!"
She grinned, practically skipping toward the elevator at the far end of the room. "Alright, let's move to the next level—"
She stopped.
Stared.
Then scowled.
"The hell? This needs to be hacked too?"
Slowly, she turned her head and glared at Obscura.
Obscura pinched the bridge of his nose.
Here we go again.
