Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 361: Feels Like an Online Romance
After the first episode of the variety show ended, Amanda Summers’ new song was already known by a large number of netizens, especially her fans, who were all asking on their official blog when the album would be released.
[Please release it soon. After watching yesterday’s first stage, I’m super excited, like eagerly waiting!]
[Dear official team, I’m begging you, give us a definite answer.]
[I’ve already saved up my money. I must let my idols feel my love for them.]
[Amanda Summers is truly the queen of talent shows. These people are so talented, mastering both modern and traditional styles. She’s probably one of a kind in the industry.]
[Hahaha, you can always trust a Mia Sutton traditional style stage. The only thing that can surpass a Mia Sutton traditional stage is her next one.]
The online buzz was high, and the management company was delighted to see the excitement. They took advantage of the momentum and posted on Weibo, announcing that their single would be released on May 8th.
Even better news was that they would be holding a tour concert.
After the announcement, fans went wild.
OMG, a concert?!!!
What a surprise! Not only is there a new single, but there’s also going to be a concert. This is the biggest treat for the fans, especially those career-oriented fans. What could be better than seeing their idol’s performance? Absolutely nothing!
...
After the official announcement, Mia Sutton logged onto Weibo to repost the post and checked the private messages from fans.
After finishing everything, she picked up her phone to call Jensen Sterling.
Because Jensen Sterling had taken on a new script and was filming out of town, he wasn’t at home, so the two were communicating via phone.
Actually, a long time ago, Mia had heard from her manager that there might be a concert, but at the time, details were unconfirmed — whether it would happen, when, what songs would be chosen, and so on.
Nothing was confirmed, so Mia hadn’t mentioned it to Jensen. But now that it was, she had to tell Mr. Sterling.
After finishing her day’s work, Mia returned home in the evening. She washed up and comfortably lay on her bed.
Then she reached for the phone placed to the side and glanced at it.
Other than work-related messages, there were some group messages. After replying to those, Mia opened Jensen Sterling’s chat.
The chat log was still on the early messages from that morning, with no further updates after those few messages.
He was probably busy. He mentioned having nighttime shoots; he’s likely still filming.
Mia tapped her phone screen, thought a bit, then sent a few messages.
"Mr. Sterling, are you done with work?"
"Are you still filming?"
"We have a concert coming up soon, so I might not be around."
After sending several messages in a row, Mia first held the phone and waited for a while. Seeing no response, she guessed he was still filming and didn’t wait any longer.
Later, she added, "Mr. Sterling, you go ahead and focus on your work," and then put away the phone.
Because they were about to get busy again, the company gave them a short break of a couple of days to rest.
With no work the next day, the time now seemed rather early for Mia.
With nothing else to do, she turned on the computer to watch TV.
She watched the drama that Jensen Sterling had acted in before. Usually, Mia didn’t watch much TV; only when she was extremely bored did she tune in.
And almost every time she did watch, it was a series Jensen Sterling was in.
Initially, she watched to learn more about acting techniques, to secretly learn from him.
Lately, since Jensen Sterling himself became her teacher, she didn’t need to learn through watching dramas.
As for later on, she just wanted to see Mr. Sterling and what he was like back then, which she didn’t know. So she could only watch the series he acted in before.
She got absorbed in watching; Jensen Sterling’s acting skills were recognized by everyone in the industry. Both the storylines and acting were always on point.
Mia gradually got into the plot, engrossed in it, when suddenly her phone rang.
She reached out to grab it, glanced at the contact, and answered the call.
"Mr. Sterling."
...
On the other side, Jensen Sterling had just finished filming a scene and walked over to a chair, his expression slightly off.
A newcomer had been inserted into the production, said to have been put there by an investor.
Jensen Sterling usually ignored such things; who got inserted was none of his business.
But the newcomer had a scene with Jensen today.
They had zero acting skills. Initially, Jensen was patient and re-shot several times, but by the end, he just couldn’t continue.
Originally, the newcomer thought they could just cameo and get it done, but unexpectedly ran into Jensen Sterling, meaning they had to take it seriously.
But no acting skills meant no acting skills; they did several takes and still couldn’t get it right.
Already tense from failing to deliver, they became even more anxious upon seeing Jensen’s impatience, getting worse and worse at acting, leaving the director no choice but to pause.
They could only finish Jensen’s other scenes first and then deal with the rest.
They had just finished filming other scenes.
Jensen sat to the side, rubbing his temples, and then picked up his phone.
Upon opening it, he found the messages Mia had sent him.
Jensen’s tense expression gradually relaxed as he read her messages one by one.
Glancing at the time, he figured she might not be asleep yet, so he initiated a video call on WeChat.
On his phone screen appeared her face, her beautiful eyes curving, sparkling with what seemed like a sea of stars.
Then he heard her joyfully call out to him, "Mr. Sterling."
The annoyance he felt began to ease.
"Still not asleep?"
Mia shook her head. She noticed the background on his side, was it... still on set?
"Mr. Sterling, you’re not done filming yet?" According to the scenes he mentioned, it should’ve been wrapped up by now.
"An actor couldn’t get into character, so it was delayed," he replied in a slightly hoarse voice.
Mia: "Oh."
Jensen held his phone with his slender fingers and seemed to hear some sound from Mia’s side.
"If you’re not asleep yet, what are you doing?"
Upon hearing this, Mia moved her phone to let him see her surroundings, narrating as she shifted: "Watching your drama."
In the video, Jensen saw the computer on the bed playing a drama he had acted in before. Mia, cuddling a pillow, sat on the bed.
He could almost imagine Mia, like a lazy little cat, lying on the bed, pillow in her arms, chin resting on it, engrossed in watching his drama.
