Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 624 - 325: The Wedding Will Be Held This Afternoon 2_2
"There’s one more thing, I hope you won’t take it too much to heart..."
From Mrs. Geoffrey’s hesitant expression, Rebecca Quentin had already roughly guessed what she wanted to tell her. Indeed...
"Actually, I already have two grandchildren, one is Andrew, and the other is Marie. These two treasures allow me to enjoy my twilight years, and I’m already very content. Of course, I wouldn’t mind having more grandchildren, but I wouldn’t want to force you..."
"Aunt Clare, you don’t need to worry about me. I can accept this fact." She admitted that this matter hit her hard, but she and Howard Geoffrey already had Andrew, so it wasn’t such a big deal after all, just a bit regrettable.
"If you feel regretful, I’ll have Howard Geoffrey find someone else to perform the surgery for you; this world doesn’t have to rely on Chester Robinson alone to help."
Rebecca Quentin immediately said, "Aunt Clare, no need. The matter of children should be left to nature; there’s no need to force it. Besides, Howard Geoffrey doesn’t mind that I only have Andrew with him. So let’s not dwell on this..."
"You’re a good kid, Howard Geoffrey is fortunate to marry you."
Rebecca Quentin smiled lightly and shook her head.
"I’ll go out and have the servant bring something for you to eat..."
"Okay, thank you, Aunt Clare."
It’s nine o’clock in the evening.
In Aunt Clare’s room, Marie at this moment was holding Andrew’s hand walking toward the bathroom, saying in a big sister’s manner, "Little brother, your hands are filthy. Sister will take you to wash them..."
Christine Quinn saw Marie caring so much for Andrew, smiled and said to Rebecca Quentin, "I bet they’ll have a great relationship when they grow up."
Rebecca Quentin nodded, "I think so too." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Aunt Clare, leaning on the headboard, looked at the two sisters sitting on the bed’s edge with satisfied smiles, feeling very gratified.
Christine Quinn turned back to Aunt Clare and said, "Rebecca said that from now on let Andrew call you grandmother..."
Aunt Clare was taken aback, looking at Rebecca Quentin.
Rebecca Quentin held Aunt Clare’s hand, nodded lightly, and said seriously, "You’ve been taking care of me since I was little, so it’s only proper for Andrew to call you ’grandmother’."
"But..."
Christine Quinn chimed in, "Aunt Clare, don’t refuse... Rebecca already told Mrs. Geoffrey, and she agreed."
"But what is my identity, I..."
Rebecca Quentin interrupted Aunt Clare, "Aunt Clare, you should know I’ve never seen you as a servant. To me, you are more important than my own mother."
Aunt Clare sighed, "Since you insist, then fine... having Andrew as a grandchild makes me happy."
Rebecca Quentin nodded, "After I get married, you will live here, and stay with us."
"No."
At this moment, Aunt Clare resolutely spoke.
Rebecca Quentin was taken aback.
Aunt Clare smiled and said, "Don’t be nervous, it’s not that I don’t want to live with you; it’s just that I’m not used to living in New York... Just think, I’ve lived in the homeland most of my life, and now you want me to spend the rest of my days in a country full of blond-haired, blue-eyed people, how could I get used to it?"
"You’ll get used to it slowly!"
Aunt Clare shook her head, "Even the air in New York feels unfamiliar to me."
"Rebecca, I think Aunt Clare might really not be used to it here. The hometown is always the coziest and most comfortable."
Aunt Clare quickly nodded in agreement with Christine Quinn’s words.
Seeing Rebecca Quentin hesitate, Christine Quinn added, "Rebecca, don’t worry. Aunt Clare still has me there in the homeland..."
"Yes, once you and Howard Geoffrey get married, I can return at ease..."
Christine Quinn wrapped her arm around Rebecca Quentin, "Then you can have your Howard buy Aunt Clare a mansion in T City, hire a few servants to take good care of her..."
The three of them chatted from nine until eleven, Aunt Clare finally "dismissed" Rebecca Quentin, "Rebecca, I want to sleep, you should rest too!"
Christine Quinn mischievously smiled and said, "How about it? Little sister, do you want to come to my room for a chat?"
Knowing that Christine Quinn was teasing, Rebecca Quentin blushed slightly, "I’m not going... Aunt Clare, have a good rest, I’m going back to my room."
Aunt Clare nodded, "Quickly go!"
Rebecca Quentin got up, picked up Andrew who was already asleep in Aunt Clare’s bed.
Christine Quinn secretly whispered to Aunt Clare, "She just wants to hide here and not return to her room to see someone tonight!"
Aunt Clare smiled knowingly.
Rebecca Quentin glared annoyingly at Christine Quinn whispering to Aunt Clare, then carried Andrew out of the room.
Rebecca Quentin hadn’t thought she’d see Howard Geoffrey in the hallway; evidently, he had been waiting outside Aunt Clare’s room for some time.
Rebecca Quentin pretended not to see Howard Geoffrey, and proceeded to carry Andrew towards the children’s room.
Howard Geoffrey, however, reached out and caught her as she passed by him.
Rebecca Quentin froze in place, not showing much pleasure at seeing him, but not removing his hand.
Howard Geoffrey carefully took Andrew from Rebecca Quentin’s arms.
Rebecca Quentin did not resist, she spoke first, "I thought you were already asleep."
Howard Geoffrey let Andrew rest in his arms and turned his handsome face, gently saying to Rebecca Quentin, "Without you here, I can’t sleep."
Rebecca Quentin blushed slightly, saying nothing more.
Gently placing Andrew on the child’s bed, Howard Geoffrey skillfully tucked him in, not forgetting to kiss Andrew’s forehead with fatherly affection.
Rebecca Quentin stood at the bedside, watching Howard Geoffrey skillfully take care of Andrew, feeling somewhat comforted inside.
At least this proves that he is attentive to the child too.
Turning off the children’s room light, Howard Geoffrey embraced Rebecca Quentin as they walked out.
Outside the children’s room, a servant was standing guard. Rebecca Quentin, unease still lingering, instructed the servant for a while before following Howard Geoffrey back to their room.
Once back in the room, Howard Geoffrey gathered Rebecca Quentin into his arms, ready to kiss her...
Yet, Rebecca Quentin pushed him away with effort, glaring at him, saying sharply, "Did I say I forgave you?"
Howard Geoffrey playfully approached again, wrapping his arms around Rebecca Quentin once more, leaning her back against his chest, with his chin resting on her forehead, "Alright, I was wrong... if you’ll forgive me, I’ll do anything you want."
"Then..."
Howard Geoffrey preemptively said, "Except for you going to see Chester Robinson."
"No, I need to see him."
Howard Geoffrey frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure, "Are we really going to let our relationship suffer due to this inconsequential person tonight?"
