Chapter 608: Chapter 317: Jealous Husband (Part 2)

However, when Rebecca Quentin thought Assistant Antony would walk toward her, he turned and opened the door to the back seat.

In the next moment, Chester Robinson stepped out of the car in a sleek black suit.

Christine Quinn, who had gotten out of the car with Rebecca Quentin, gasped silently.

Wow...

Chester Robinson, usually seen in a doctor’s white coat, now donned a perfectly tailored black suit that accentuated his slender figure, shedding his usual restraint and elegance. He appeared exceptionally charming, exuding an aura of sophistication and arrogance.

His long legs carried him toward Rebecca Quentin.

Rebecca Quentin hadn’t expected Chester Robinson to break his word, and she turned to get back into her car.

But Keith Antony, Chester’s assistant, preemptively blocked her path.

Rebecca Quentin stood frozen, her body rigid, back turned to Chester Robinson.

Chester Robinson’s gentle and low voice came from behind her.

"I just want to talk to you."

Rebecca Quentin, still facing away from Chester Robinson, replied coldly, "I thought I told you I didn’t want to see you."

Chester Robinson glanced at Keith Antony.

Keith Antony then addressed Christine Quinn, "Miss Quinn, my boss would like to talk to Miss Quentin alone. Can we wait over there?"

Christine Quinn was somewhat confused about the situation, and she was led aside by Keith Antony.

Chester Robinson walked up to Rebecca Quentin, his gentle gaze falling on her cold face.

"Are you still upset with me for hiding my identity from you?"

Rebecca Quentin raised her eyes to glare at Chester Robinson, "I can’t tell now if you’re ’Doctor Robinson’ or ’Mr. Robinson,’ or someone else entirely."

Chester Robinson sighed but said nothing.

Rebecca Quentin handed the documents in her hand to Chester Robinson, saying plainly, "Here’s the document for you... Sorry, I need to get home, goodbye."

Rebecca Quentin turned away.

But Chester Robinson grabbed her hand, saying, "What’s between us isn’t about my identity. You ought to know I just want what’s best for you."

Rebecca Quentin turned back, staring blankly at Chester Robinson.

The same gentle face she had often seen, yet now it made her heart uneasy.

Her mind flashed through the time spent with Chester Robinson - how he accompanied her through life’s darkest moments, relentlessly helped her heal, and made her laugh and comforted her every time she felt lonely and helpless, offering her unforgettable care.

Even now, her heart was still filled with guilt and self-reproach toward him.

Her heart gradually softened as she took a deep breath and calmly said, "You should know that Howard Geoffrey and I are already married..."

"The wedding hasn’t taken place yet, so it’s not set in stone. And even if you have married Howard Geoffrey, I won’t give up on you."

Rebecca Quentin shook her hand free from Chester Robinson, saying firmly, "I love Howard Geoffrey. I only want to be with him for the rest of my life, understand?" She knew her words were cruel, but she had no choice; she didn’t want him to waste any more time on her. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Chester Robinson’s voice turned somber, "I understand... but Howard Geoffrey isn’t right for you."

Rebecca Quentin shook her head vigorously, "No, I love him, and he loves me. From the day we met, it was destined that we would always be together."

"You love him, no doubt, but are you really sure he loves you?"

"What do you mean by that?"

Chester Robinson spoke slowly, "Are you certain there’s no emotional involvement between Howard Geoffrey and Alice Robinson?"

Rebecca Quentin’s face turned pale at that moment, her pupils narrowing as she stared at Chester Robinson, murmuring, "So, you did it intentionally..."

"What?"

Rebecca Quentin’s eyes turned sharp, "The day before yesterday, you asked me to go to the Palace Hotel to pick up documents, and I accidentally saw Howard Geoffrey and Alice Robinson coming in and out of the hotel together... I suppose this was your deliberate arrangement, wasn’t it?" She’s not stupid, and she had already suspected the coincidence upon returning from the hotel, but she never wanted to associate Chester Robinson with such secretive scheming.

"Yes, I admit it. I intentionally asked you to go to the hotel to pick up the documents, hoping you’d see Howard Geoffrey and Alice Robinson together. But my aim wasn’t to stir up trouble between you and Howard Geoffrey. I merely wanted you to see the side of Howard Geoffrey he didn’t want you to see, hoping you wouldn’t regret marrying him later."

"He doesn’t have another side. He and Alice Robinson used to be a couple, and even if there’s unresolved emotional entanglement, it’s normal."

Chester Robinson squinted slyly, "Are you sure there’s not even a hint of doubt in your heart?"

Rebecca Quentin answered truthfully, "I admit that seeing them together makes me uncomfortable, but I won’t doubt him. Since I choose to be with him, I choose to always trust him."

Chester Robinson sighed, "Howard Geoffrey is indeed lucky to meet a woman so loyal to him."

"I have my own judgment; I know precisely who it is I’ve chosen."

"Alright then, I tell you, the man you’ve chosen is ruthless, arrogant, and selfish! His world is all about winning and losing, devoid of feelings. For the sake of achieving his goal, he will stop at nothing, seize all advantages, even if it means sacrificing emotions."

"I don’t want to listen to your nonsense, nor will I believe what you say... I won’t allow myself to ruin the trust between him and me." Rebecca Quentin calmly looked at Chester Robinson and spoke coldly.

"I think whatever I say now, you see it as sabotaging the trust between you and Howard Geoffrey..." Chester Robinson nodded to himself, "Alright, I won’t say more. If you believe Howard Geoffrey is someone you can spend your life with, then I wish you both happiness."

"Thank you."

Chester Robinson sighed again, gently placing his hands on Rebecca Quentin’s shoulders, and softly said, "Becca, I genuinely hope you find happiness in this lifetime, and I’m convinced I’m the only one who can make you happy... But I understand that feelings can’t be forced. I sincerely hope the Howard Geoffrey you trust isn’t the kind of person I believe him to be and that you find happiness."

Rebecca Quentin firmly said, "We will."

Chester Robinson smiled gently, "Lastly, remember this... When you need me, don’t forget I’m always here for you."

Rebecca Quentin said nothing more and turned away, entering the car.

The car slowly drove down the road.

Christine Quinn, holding a pale-faced Rebecca Quentin, asked with concern, "What’s wrong? What did Chester Robinson talk to you about?"
