Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Tina Huxley Is Persuaded to Go to the Island

Tina Huxley’s nose was almost out of joint with anger, she snorted a few times, and said indignantly, "Apart from those who are eager to marry Maxim Sinclair, who else could it be."

"There are plenty of excellent men in Stellarion, you don’t have to fixate on just Maxim Sinclair, look around, there are certainly others who are good." Justin Huxley pulled over a bamboo chair nearby and sincerely advised Tina Huxley, nobody knew how much bitterness was underlying his suggestion, "Anyway, I don’t see what’s so good about him."

"Vaughn, you’re saying that because you’re not convinced, right? Your little junior was almost within your grasp, yet she was snatched by Maxim Sinclair. Are you upset?" Tina Huxley gloatingly looked at him, "Don’t be unconvinced, there really aren’t many men in Stellarion better than Maxim Sinclair."

Justin Huxley didn’t take her mockery to heart, instead, he handed the fruit he was holding closer to her and gently smiled, "Did you know, your crush went abroad with my crush?"

Tina Huxley drooped her face, "I know, I even went to the Sinclair Group today for work, I heard from their employees that Maxim Sinclair won’t be in Stellarion this week, he’s gone abroad with some so-called Mrs. Sinclair for a getaway."

"Let me tell you something else, Maxim Sinclair used extraordinary means to keep Summer Lowell by his side. Does that cheer you up a bit?" Justin Huxley picked up a piece of fruit, stuffed it into his mouth, chewed slowly, and quietly watched Tina Huxley, not missing a trace of expression on her face.

Tina Huxley looked incredulous, "Is Summer Lowell’s taste so high? Even Maxim Sinclair isn’t good enough for her, who does she want to match with? The emperor?"

Seeing that she didn’t quite get his point, Justin Huxley’s heart flashed with impatience.

With your intelligence, you still wish for Maxim Sinclair to fancy you?

What a pipe dream!

Luckily, Tina Huxley wasn’t beyond redemption; she promptly realized that Justin Huxley had a deeper meaning in sharing this with her, "So you mean, I still have a chance, right? No way, according to what you said, it’s you who has a chance."

"Wait for the clouds to clear and the moon to shine, as long as those two are broken up, both of us will have a chance, right? Anyway, in this Stellarion, you’re the only one who can match Maxim Sinclair in status."

Tina Huxley became spirited; she stretched out her foot to stop the swing, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Justin Huxley, "I’m guessing you surely have a way, right?"

"I don’t have a way." Justin Huxley helplessly spread his hands, looking especially sincere as he said to Tina Huxley, "It’s because I don’t have a way that I’m asking for your help. Maxim Sinclair is watching me very closely now; I have no chance at all to get close to Summer, so I came to ask you for help."

"Alright then, give me the address, I’ll go over, and I’ll also call a few good friends, pretending to be on a holiday, to see if I can do something."

As Tina Huxley was speaking and about to act, Justin Huxley reached out to stop her, hesitated for a long time before saying with some difficulty, "After you go, could you not make it difficult for Summer? She doesn’t actually want to stay by Maxim Sinclair’s side. She was forced. She asked me for help last time, but unfortunately, before I could help her, Maxim Sinclair took her away."

Tina Huxley, who really did have a fleeting thought of giving Summer Lowell a hard time, shifted her eyes with some guilt and only agreed lightly after a while, "Okay, I won’t deal with Summer Lowell, so what do you plan to do? Aren’t you going to think of a way to take Summer Lowell away and hide her?"

"I respect Summer’s opinion. This time, you’re just going to take care of her; if she asks for your help, give her a hand. Don’t do anything unnecessary, and definitely don’t anger Maxim Sinclair, he’s a madman."

Tina Huxley was not too pleased to hear this evaluation, "It was clearly Summer who was wrong first. If she hadn’t been undercover with ulterior motives, Maxim Sinclair wouldn’t hold such a grudge against her. Vaughn, I think you’ve just been taken in by Summer Lowell; she always uses these tricks. Back then, she used this trick to make Maxim Sinclair fall head over heels, and now she’s using it on you."

"You’re prejudiced against her." Justin Huxley shook his head disapprovingly, "At this point, they’re probably already at the island; I just checked the flight. If you leave tonight, you’ll arrive by tomorrow morning."

"In so much of a hurry?" Tina Huxley flapped her bracelet irritably, "Whenever I go on a trip, I have to pack a lot of things; there’s so little time, how can I manage it all?"

"What’s more important, the stuff or your future husband?" Justin Huxley laughed as he urged her, "Though the island is far, it’s well-equipped. Just bring what you need with you, and buy the rest there."

Tina Huxley thought it made sense too. It’s rare to get an opportunity to be close to Maxim Sinclair without it being work-related; she had to seize the moment, not delay any longer.

...

Early that morning, awakened by the seagulls, Summer Lowell wrapped herself in a shawl and came to the balcony. Maxim Sinclair was right; the view here was indeed wonderful.

Standing on the high balcony, gazing at the boundless blue ocean, she felt as though the oppressive emotions from before had been swept away by the sea breeze.

"It’s rare to see you up so early." Maxim Sinclair placed the breakfast he was holding on the stone table on the balcony, then walked over to stand next to her, "Have you ever ridden a water scooter?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Summer Lowell shook her head lightly, "I’ve never been a fan of those activities; if you want to go, you can go by yourself without inviting me."

"That’s not possible." Maxim Sinclair smiled and placed his hand on her shoulder, "It’s settled then, I’ll take you surfing in the afternoon. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to ride a water scooter; I do, and I’ll teach you hand by hand."

Summer Lowell swiftly bent down to avoid his hand and walked over to the table herself to start breakfast.

Maxim Sinclair smiled helplessly and followed her to the table: "Your temper is the same as always. I remember that it was because of your temper that I became curious about you, wasn’t it?"

Summer Lowell concentrated on spreading jam on a slice of bread, not answering, so Maxim Sinclair, dissatisfied, reached out and grabbed her wrist: "When you act like this, it always makes me think you’re playing some hard-to-get game."

Unable to break free, Summer Lowell had to look up at him, "I don’t really remember the past clearly; can you let go now?"

After a moment, Maxim Sinclair released her wrist, picked up a glass of milk, and sipped it while watching Summer Lowell, "To be honest, the more you are like this, the more interested I become. Maybe one day, if you become obedient, I might find it boring instead."

"We’re eating, don’t make me sick."
