Valerie looked at Max who was backing her at the door and tilted her head.

"Wasn’t there someone at the door?" She asked as she approached him. "I thought I heard you talking to someone."

She reached for the door handle but he immediately caught her hand and pulled her away from the door.

He made her sit on the bed while he went to get a towel and started cleaning her hair thoroughly.

"I didn’t know you were such a careless person." He said. "You’re still sick, yet you come out with little to nothing on and you leave your hair wet. It’s like you’re hoping to catch a cold."

"Oh, I didn’t think of that." She said and finally looked up to see Max with a flushed face. "What’s wrong with your face?" She asked. "Are you sick as well?"

Max gritted his teeth. Was she doing this on purpose or was she just oblivious to how she looked?

"It’s nothing." He said and gulped. From where he was standing, he could clearly see the cleavage that was so pumped up thanks to her towel.

She had lost weight, yes, but she didn’t look any less alluring.

"Max," Valeria called, genuinely worried. "Are you sure you’re okay?"

"Yes, I’m fine." He said and turned around. "You should put on some clothes before you catch a cold."

"Wait." She suddenly got up to reach out to him when her towel, which she thought she had wrapped firmly, slipped down her chest and exposed her entire body.

Max saw this and her face flushed in embarrassment but she didn’t even try to pick up her towel and stood there awkwardly.

"My... My bad." She said and sneaked a peak at his expression but before she could see, he covered her eyes with his palm.

He didn’t want to show that he was greatly turned on by this. Well, it was a natural reaction but he just felt embarrassed by it. In actuality, he just didn’t want to scare her.

"Valerie, do you want to make me the villain that laid hands on his sick wife?" He asked her. "Right now, I’m trying so hard to hold back but you keep doing things that rile me up."

Hearing this, Valerie gulped. Her heart began to beat fast and she felt him closing in.

He dropped his head on her shoulder and said in a soft tempting voice.

"If you tempt me so much, I just might give in to the temptation, disregarding your health and I don’t want that." He said.

"Can... Can’t we do it a little?" She suddenly asked, shocking him. He raised his head from her shoulder and looked at her face. He was covering her eyes but he could see her lips quivering in excitement. "We’re a couple. No one’s going to blame you for what we do in the bedroom."

Max was speechless. He didn’t think he’d get to see this side of Valerie so soon. This excited and sultry side of her. A tempting seductress.

Watching her, his lower half throbbed. He wanted to take her right away but he wasn’t sure she was ready to receive him. Especially now when her body needs to recover from being sick.

"Max." Valerie called and slowly reached her hands out till she was able to reach his face. "I want it."

"No, Valerie. You’re not strong enough."

"Are you sure that’s the reason you have for rejecting me now?" She asked with a smirk on her lips. "You’ve never really shown me what’s down there. I used to think it was because you were impotent or something like that."

"What?" He frowned, feeling insulted and she laughed.

"But I don’t think like that anymore. The truth is, you’re just feeling insecure, isn’t it?" She said and leaned in, his hands still covering her eyes. "Don’t worry, no matter what I see, I won’t back down."

Max gulped and stepped back. She was doing it again.

Seriously, for someone who was so indifferent to having this side of her, it baffled him every time he thought about it.

"Valerie, you’re just saying that because you haven’t seen it."

"Well, we’ll never really know how I’ll react unless I see it in person, will we?" She smiled and took a step towards him, after feeling him retreat his steps.

Then, she touched his hand on her face and said, "Let’s take our chances. I can’t remain patient for much longer."

Once again, Max gulped. He wanted to think rationally. He needed to be rational but he just couldn’t push away his beautiful and sexy wife who was pushing him into a corner.

"Hm? What’s your answer?" Valerie asked, taking one more step towards him.

"How come I never knew you were like this?" Max suddenly asked.

Then, she leaned in and finally claimed a kiss. Max’s hand weakened and he was just about to drop it when Mariam knocked on the door again.

"Brother, the food is getting cold." She yelled from the other side of the door.

Valerie let go and looked towards the door.

Max gave out a silent sigh. This was one time he was glad Mariam actually interrupted them.

There was no response from them and this gave Mariam a weird conclusion and she yelled, banging the door even louder.

"Wait, are you bullying Sis Valerie right now? I know she looks so good but don’t you dare. She’s still sick."

’What do you mean she looks so good, you brat?’ Max gritted his teeth and then looked back at Valerie. ’Besides, it’s actually the other way around this time.’

He managed to slip away, picked up the blanket and wrapped it around her in a flash and then dashed to the bathroom saying,

"Hurry up and put on some clothes. I’ll use the bathroom before coming out." He said and shut the door.

Valerie stood there, motionless and then she laughed.

"That was fun." She muttered and then reached for her neck. "Though I didn’t get what I wanted," she remembered the feeling of him covering her eyes. "...I got something else that was still satisfying."

In front of your lover, when you don’t know what would happen next to how hungry he looked while staring at your bare body was such a thrill. It turned her on so much that she was having trouble hiding her desires.
