Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 260: A feeling of calm - I

"Come on, Salvatore!" Bella shrieked. " You have been going out all day long. All Evelyn and I want to go shopping for an hour!"

Evelyn winced.

Brother or not, Salvatore was the Don at the end of the day and that was the first definition he went by when it came to his being. Bella Rosa yelling at him and his office where everyone could hear what was happening inside is not good, especially for the sister.

For now, she hoped that Salvatore did not figure it out that she was also standing outside the room.

"Evelyn, come in."

Shit.

Closing her eyes before releasing a breath, she straightened her shoulders and walked inside the room only to be beckoned closer by her husband.

"Yes?"

Salvatore’s eyes moved to his sister, "Bella Rosa tells me you want to go out shopping. I just told her that it is not safe. Now the choice rests with you. What do you want?"

He was looking at her.

Bella Rosa was looking at her.

She was looking at her feet.

"Well..uh.."

"No Donna ever begins her conversation with ’well’ and ’uh’." Salvatore was to correct her.

Evelyn nodded and closed her eyes for a brief second before taking back control. "I want to know what is it that you mean by it being unsafe for us."

Salvatore’s eye twitched and he gave her a look that said do-you-really-want-to-do-this?

Yup, she did.

He had made everyone get inside a large mansion without telling her what was going on. The least he could do was tell her what he meant by it was not safe for any of them to go out on a normal day for just shopping for an hour.

She deserved to know that much and if he was going to put her on the spot and she was going to put him right back on it.

Maintaining his sister on her, Salvatore Swirled his chair left and right slowly before he gave them a little note.

"No," he said, " none of you are going anywhere. Order online or get catalogues for all I care. But no one is stepping outside the house."

"Why?" Evelyn probbed, "what’s the matter?"

Something serious had to be going on because he was not giving them any kind of information. Gathering the entire blood related family together, in one house, so that they all could be protected indicated to eat something big.

But the problem with Salvatore was that he was not letting any of his tensions pause on to any other family situations. So, Evelyn did not know what was going on on the inside.

"Bella, please leave us alone for sometime. Close the door on your way out."

With a half, Bella Rosa turned around and walked out of the room but not before closing the door after her. Once it was closed, she saw his structure falter.

For the first time, she had seen his resolve, his body is older and that was not something to be taken lightly.

He had been trained from a very early age to be a strong man and to be seen as one, only for him to have a little crack in his armour... It was definitely something she had to know more about.

"What?" She mumbled out, softer than before. "What is it that you are not telling me Salvatore?"

He called her close with his two fingers and just when she was within arms reach, he grabbed her and settled her onto his lap.

"There is a new guy in the game. I don’t know who he is but he sure as fuck is causing many problems." He shook his head, " he’s new but he’s better than the rest of them."

He kept one hand on his shoulder and the other on his side hip, rubbing both of the areas as he told her about the matter. He did not go into details, she could not do much with them anyway.

Evelyn hummed and thought about it. "Well, are you sure he is a new person in the game? If he is better than the rest and maybe he is one of the rest?"

Not that the answer she had laid out in front of it made complete sense to her itself, but it was worth a shot.

"Maybe," He answered and without looking at him, it sounded like he was thinking about it.

"I’m not entirely sure about this. But for the time being, take my word when I say none of you are stepping out of the house unless I have a foolproof plan of security. Can you do that for me, please Evelyn?"

Please, he said please. It was Unusual for a man to hold almost all of the power in the world to say the word please.

"I’ll do it." She agreed before snuggling into his chest in keeping a hand on his heart. "Don’t you worry." She kissed his lips and smiled.

~ meanwhile on the other end of Italy ~

"have they come to know about the device?"

"No sir,"

He smiled. "Then I think it is time to activate it. Make sure the hearing range is enough to focus on each and every sound in the house." I wanted to hear everything that was going on, especially in the room that was marked in the opposite of the bedroom that the device was in. The office of the Don, the room that contained everything.

"We can activate it right away Or do you want it to be in the morning?"

He sighed but grinned anyway. "Apparently, the don has a daughter. The nights are going to be empty. Started the first thing in the morning. I know his routine, he will get up at five, activate it at 4:30."

Even though he had gathered his family at one place and momentarily caused a halt in his plans, it was not going to last for long.
