Chapter 210: An attack in the house - II

Fucking hell.

"Another one?" Dante growled, standing beside him with his hands fisted in anger. "Who the fuck is doing this?"

Instead of answering him Salvatore kept on staring at the body in front of him. It was hanging on top of the warehouse. The warehouse that was used for storing weapons that were not for use or going to be sold.

All in all this was a warehouse deep inside the city that was abandoned because no one checked inside and the police and authorities knew better.

But someone clearly did not.

Alfonso exited the building with Michelle behind him and they stopped right in front of the don.

"Nothing is missing," Alfonso informed sullenly. "We have checked every crate and the others are continuing. By far none of them have been opened."

"My my," his cousin sneered, "so they made a fucking statement."

They did. Salvatore silently agreed. They have definitely intended to make a statement and they had been successful.

One of his men was hanged on top of the building, gutted and opened from the inside before leaving them to die and when they had purposely put a noose around their head.

"Take it down," his eyes moved to Michelle’s, "Then come back into the car."

At the moment it was more important to make sure that none of the civilians saw it. There were too many tourists who could not keep their mouths shut.

This was not an interesting site, the guts of the men were practically out of his body, circulate quicker on social media then he would like and would only cause an unwanted delay in his operations.

It had taken minutes from Michelle to complete the task before the four of them were inside a car and were driving to the headquarters.

"They made a statement, Don." Dante said, still looking out. "They did not take anything. Not a single crate of weaponry, not a single fucking penny. They are going to aim for something bigger."

"Perhaps a mutiny?" Michelle added his thoughts from the driver’s seat.

Dante nodded, " my thoughts exactly."

"A mutiny of what?" Alfonso glanced back. "What are they going to have a mutiny against?"

Before anyone could answer, it was Salvatore who did. "A mutiny against me, someone who is failing to protect them and failing to analyse the threat against us."

"And how the fuck are we supposed to analyse the threat when we don’t see it?!" Dante’s temper shot up. "No one expected the warehouse to be attacked!"

"Precisely," Salvatore agreed with him, " we had gotten too comfortable with the fact that the warehouse was protected well enough when in fact it was not."

His eyes flickered to the rear view mirror where Michelle held them. "Increase the security in the houses harbouring goods."

He nodded.

The life of his men mattered more than the god that was going to get sold. He could take a few losses, but if the rumors of a mutiny started to flow, it would come true.

That would be shit.

"So we start with protecting the warehouses, especially the unguarded ones." Alfonso, forced by the habit, noted them down. "We can also put the place on it. No matter what, they do not have the forces on their payroll."

"For now," Dante added further, with a meaningful glance at Salvatore. "We might have them on a side, they will have to choose one in case the family is threatened."

Those people would definitely have to choose a side and as much as Salvatore hated to say, their loyalties would change.

"Nothing," Alphonso muttered under his breath as he checked his phone. "There was nothing found. No fingerprint, no footsteps, it’s like they were never there."

Salvatore chuckled, "Smartasses." The technology was a fucking curse than a boon.

"Hmm," Dante nodded but sarcastically, "it’s not funny. It’s going to be a problem soon."

"I know that,"

"Could it be that Rosarios?" Michelle stopped the car when the light turned red. "Maybe they know about what happened with Giovanni."

Ah, yes. That would be a problem but who would tell them? The fucking receptionist?

She did not even have a clue and the others would never know. They were taken Care of. Still, he could never take a chance on allies and enemies. They were all alike at the end of the day when it came to themselves.

"Maintain an eye on everyone." He ordered, "tail of them. I don’t trust anyone."

"Noted," Alfonso answered, "allies and enemies?"

"Yes."

The car was in the basement of the headquarters of the legal business. The business, legal or not, was discussed here.

He did not answer anyone nor did the comrades that were walking behind him as they boarded the left and went up to the highest floor.

Dante opened his laptop as the first thing, and pulled up a document on the screen. "At the moment, from what I know, none of them are looking to attack us."

His eyes moved to Salvatore, "if they did I would know. The spies would let us know."

Salvatore nodded slowly as he rang the facts in his mind. "It’s someone new." He declared.

It was more of a hunch that he felt. This country was under his rule and someone else was trying to get in.

This definitely had to be someone new. The one that was previously settled would know better than to just attack him.

’Do you think it could be British?’ Mitchelle leaned forward. "We are in their territory and taking their drugs."

They were. A whole town had been growing marijuana and Salvatore moved in the first opportunity he received.

"Could he," he agreed. "Start checking the airport for any new incoming immigrants."

Britishers why going to be easy in recognising. It would be hard for them to hide the accent and other than that, there were a lot of things that they could look for.

His phone vibrated in his pocket making him pull it out and narrow his eyes at the screen.

Marco was calling him.
