Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 200: A red stain - I
Salvatore raised an eyebrow in her direction, halting his fork midway.
He placed her back on his plate and raised his head to look at her. "Really?" He questioned, "you wish to have your old phone?"
Evelyn nodded. "Can you give it to me after dinner? Or have it sent to me in my room?" A little Spark of hope lit in her chest.
When Evelyn had decided to run away from his house in New York she had also decided to leave her phone in the room where she had been rescued from.
The phone that she could afford easily was Android and it had a memory card slot inside it which would make it easier for her to use the current card that she had in her hand.
Salvatore stared at her before letting out a little huff, "absolutely, not."
Her smile faltered and her expression fell before she lowered her eyes to her plate which was still very full.
"Just want to listen to some music," she murmured under her breath before she started to play with the food on her plate. "It gets boring in the house and as you can see you don’t exactly have Netflix."
"Netflix?" The man repeated incredulously. "Are you telling me when you could barely afford to eat proper lunch on a work day, you could afford to have a Netflix account?"
That shut her up and also made her feel warm all over her face. Salvatore really knew where to Target and when to shoot.
"I had it before I left!" Evelyn argued. "Here I cannot watch anything and I don’t have my playlist which was there in my old phone."
He chuckled, "and you must expect me to believe it is the sole reason for your demand?"
How was this man talented enough to make everything sound stupid when presented to him?
Evelyn licked her bottom left before taking a bite of the lemon pasta, something that she had missed from the bottom of her heart, and recalculated her strategy along with her words.
"You could just provide me with the laptop and some cables." She shrugged, "I could feed some songs into a new Android phone if you can. They have great memory."
Salvatore did not reply to her as he took a bite of his pasta and savoring the taste slowly before placing his fork down and giving her his full attention.
"I.." he began and by the looks of it, he was very carefully forming his words. "I do not understand your sudden fascination with technology and mobile phones. However, if you have a particular Android phone in your mind, let me know."
"Any latest Samsung phone that you can get." She replied instantly, having the words ready on the tip of her tongue.
Evelyn had invested in an old Samsung phone and that one definitely came with the micro SD card slot. So, at the moment she hoped that they continued to do so in the latest models as well.
"Alright," he nodded, picking up his fork and spoon again, "you will receive it before you go to sleep."

"Thank you," Evelyn gave a graceful smile to Carlo; The Other Butler. "Good night." She wished him before cutting the conversation short and closing the door.
Evelyn waited for him to nod back and wish her as well before she closed the door so that he would not think that she was in a hurry.
The moment he did and the door was closed, Evelyn ran to the study table where she had received her previous laptop, the one she had in college.
She started the phone and started to feed the familiar details into the phone before she plugged the memory card out and placed the one that she had received in her bedroom inside it.
Now she waited, very impatiently, as the phone restarted with the information feeded inside it.
Even though her heart beated quickly and Evelyn recognised that the majority of that feeling came from excitement, she knew that there was dread and inside somewhere.
The moment the phone started, she immediately went into the files of the phone and clicked internal storage.
It only had one file.. it was a recording.
Her thumb hovered over the application option and it shook.
It shook just like her entire body did.
Evelyn had no idea what kind of file was in the memory card and it hurt her mentally to think about it.
But if it had been placed inside her room then this must be something concerning either Arabella or what happened inside the house in New York two years ago.
Closing her eyes for a quick second, Evelyn murmured a prayer to God before clicking on the option and placing it right next to her ear.
’I don’t think you’ve done a good job at motherhood so far, otherwise it won’t be dead.’
Evelyn gulped.
’What were you thinking about staying inside a house like theirs? The child had to die. But the question remains, who killed it except you?’
She stood up from the chair like it was burning before throwing the phone on the study table and stepping away from it.
This was not good.
That was not about Arabella.
This had never been about Arabella.
It had been about the child that she was pregnant with. They were talking about a child that was now cold in his grave.
Evelyn let out a shuddering breath before placing her hand over her mouth.
They knew.
"Shit," she muttered as she stared at the phone.
Whoever it was knew about the pregnancy from two years ago and if they knew they were definitely going to use it to their advantage.
That could not only jeopardise her now position, it would have killed for betraying the don.
Crap, crap, crap, crap.
Evelyn did not think twice before running over to her door and running out of it.
Her destination was her husband’s office, who in her opinion was going to handle everything and set it straight as it was supposed to be.
The moment she exited the corridor and came towards the small balcony which overlooked the foyer of the house, she stopped.
Right in front of it was his office on the other side, parallel to the same place that she was standing at.
Salvatore, Michelle and Dante were standing there, talking amongst each other. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
They were not very talking but whispering in slow Italian as if the words were just meant for them and no one else to hear and he knew that she was including the moment but none of them were aware of her presence.
Evelyn gulped again but this time it was not from fear.
It was from the mixed feelings that came from looking at the three highest-ranking members of the organisation, talking amongst each Other, whispering like little girls, planning to steal something.
Somehow, slowly and unknowingly, the doubt started to creep into her mind while her eyes stared at the three of them.
Salvatore stood next to the two members that he could trust with his life. The two people that were not senior Guards and actually meant something in the organisation which meant that they were the only people that would be aware of her pregnancy apart from Salvador and Marco.
So how could she believe that it was not orchestrated by Salvador and his inner circle?
It was like the devil and Angel had perched upon her shoulders and argued in her mind.
One side in her mind knew that Salvatore was behind this. It was his way of punishing her for running away.
And on the other hand, it could be someone else that knew. Maybe it was that person who had pushed her down the stairs.
After all the person did say about staying in their house.. their house definitely meant Alessandro house.
Evelyn ducked away and turned to lean her back on the wall. She had chosen to look away from the three of them deciding that she had had enough of doubts creeping in her mind.
Maybe Salvatore was not responsible or maybe Salvatore was the one who was solely responsible for all of this.
Maybe he was playing with her mind or maybe it was someone else that was talking with the truth just to take advantage of it when the time came.
But could it be Giovanni—
Evelyn shook her head out of that one. She knew that he had died and given that he had received no help with those wounds that ghused out blood, there was no way that he was going to make it out alive.
With a sigh, she started to walk back to her room, deciding to think of it before acting on it. That was the best that she could do.
Slowly reaching to head over, Evelyn reached over to the knob only to stop short.
There was something on her door.
A red hand print..
A very, bloody, red handprint.
