At the bright sun city lord’s mansion, a meeting was currently underway..

Within the city lord’s office..

Carrion Solaris, the city lord himself and his son Micheal, were currently on their knees, heads bowed as they faced the direction of the main office chair..

On it sat a man in his Middle Ages...

He had brown hair, black eyes, a chiseled face and bulky physique..

His eyes as he stared at the kneeling father and son duo contained nothing but endless contempt...

"You have done well.." he spoke, voice gravely..

"We’re unworthy of such praise my lord" came carrion’s reverential voice...

The man seated on the chair seemed satisfied by the expression as his tone softened just a bit..

"His highness wishes to reward for your efforts..."

"We do not dare impose on the imperial prince"..

"Foolishness!!" The man bellowed, his voice shaking the entire mansion..

Carrion’s face turned pale, he bowed his head even further, almost kissing the ground..

"Forgive me lord, it was my mistake" he hurriedly apologized..

"Humph... who do you take his highness for?" The man grumbled, still clearly upset..

"It was my own foolishness, forgive me"

"Alright. No matter. Since his highness has decided to reward you, you shall receive it" the burly man spoke up, voice final..

"Then we are eternally grateful for his highness’s generosity"..

If anyone could witness the exchange between the city lord of a first rate city, a certified SSS-rank powerhouse and this unknown man, they’d have been shocked speechless by the degree of deference carrion regarded this man with..

"You.." the man pointed at Micheal who had been uncharacteristically silent all this while..

"Yes...yes my lord" he stammered, suddenly feeling a massive weight pressed upon him..

"You wish to participate in the academy trials do you not?" He asked..

Micheal didn’t need to ask which trials he meant.

Even though other Warrior academies and institutes were accepting students, there was truly only ever one where the whole world paid close attention to.

The academy trials..

"Yes.. my lord" Micheal hurriedly answered..

"With that measly talent and bloodline of yours? You’re better off not bothering yourself, you will surely fail and if you’re unlucky, lose your life in the process" the man dashed his hopes mercilessly..

Micheal’s face went deathly pale upon hearing this..

"But.."

"But I have an SS-rank talent and bloodline? That’s only worth anything in this garbage city, the moment you come across true geniuses, you’ll fail miserably"..

His shoulders slumped the moment he heard that..

He’d always been apprehensive of those "monsters" but now hearing someone tell him straight to his face that he was no match? He couldn’t help the feeling of inadequacy that threatened to overwhelm him.

Carrion’s fists clenched hard when he saw his son’s dream get dashed like nothing , but he was truly helpless, not minding the fact that the man was right, but even if he wasn’t, he had no power to contest the man..

Yet before Micheal or carrion could spiral further into despair, the man spoke up..

"My prince wishes to give you this" saying so, he tossed a blood-red stone, the size of a baby’s fist at him..

Micheal caught the stone absentmindedly, his expression one of confusion as he stared at the object, he had no idea what it was, yet his father who recognized the object was stunned..

"My.. my lord this.." his words came out broken..

"Yes, it’s a bloodline elevation stone.." the man answered smugly..

"Bloodline elevation stone?" Micheal’s confused voice sounded out..

The man looked at him with disdain, "you can use this to elevate the grade of your bloodline up to a rank up" the man answered..

As the words settled within his head, Micheal’s eyes widened..

"What!!!" How’s that even possible??" He asked, shocked.

Nobody ever said anything about bloodlines being capable of increasing their ranks.

"Boy, there are things that your puny mind can yet to comprehend about this world, so use this, even if it’s nothing but a mere mortal rank stone, it should be enough for the entirety of the trials" the man answered, getting up from the sit..

"His highness wishes you luck on your endeavors, and should you make it into Aeternum, he is willing to take you under his wing" finally done sayng his piece, the man vanished completely, like he was never there, leaving carrion and his son staring at each other in stunned silence..

"Father, this..."

"Hush... you go absorb that stone right now, the trials begin tomorrow, there’s no time to waste" Carriom hurried his son towards the training grounds..

The commotion was not left for the city lord’s mansion alone..

All around bright sun city hell, all around terra, people were getting ready for the first test of the most anticipated academy trials on the entire planet..

Aeternum’s trials, be they the preliminaries, the qualifiers or the main tests themselves, were broadcasted live to the whole world.

It wasn’t merely a test. No! It was a chance at global recognition.

And so everyone wanted to do their best, to achieve results that would take them into the heavens In one leap..

And so, with anticipation and excitement..

The night wore on..

And then the day finally arrived...

The academy trials were about to begin.....
