CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 342: Our Love Story
Tom was enjoying the party so much that it felt surreal. When the party was almost over Amy left to tuck in the kids and accompany Ash to his room. Since Ash is very sick, he only stayed there for an hour before Amy and his nurse sent him back to his room to rest.
He decided to roam around the property until his feet brought him to the small river. He noticed something bright and when he got near, he saw a small bonfire lit near the river–then he heard someone crying.
He walked closer, to see who it was. Even though it is already past midnight, as part of Amy’s security team, it is still his job to make sure that no intruder will get near the family.
"Just take me with you! I cannot live like this anymore Henry!"
’Amy?’ Tom then moved closer and saw Amy talking to the river while holding a bottle of vodka and obviously very drunk for she sways while standing on the edge of the water.
Tom does not want to interrupt and possibly embarrass his boss, so he stays in the shadows and watches her to make sure that nothing bad will happen to her.
"I have written our love story multiple times in multiple scenarios with different endings in so many books. But no matter how many times I write it, you are still not with me and you will never be with me anymore. I hate you!" Amy slumped to the ground and cried more.
Tom felt like there was a lump stuck in his throat while watching Amy cry on her own. He grips on his shirt near his heart as he takes deep breaths.
"You said you would marry me in front of the altar and adopt Jayson and Jena and you did not! You broke my heart, you broke their hearts too. You are so cruel! I hate you so much! My love, please take me with you. I cannot do this anymore."
Tom can no longer take it and turns around. He doesn’t want to see Amy in that state. ’I am sorry for what you have been going through...’ Tom said inwardly and started walking away.
But Tom paused and looked back when he heard splashing on the water. Amy was no longer in her previous spot.
Tom ran to where Amy was, "Amy!" He shouted as he looked around. Tom frantically searched for her but she’s not anywhere near the bonfire. He then saw some bubbles in the water in the deep part of the river.
"Fuck! Amy!" Tom ran into the water and dived into it. Fortunately, he easily found her and brought her up and out of the water.
"What the hell are you doing?! Why are you wasting your life like that? Don’t you love your kids? What will they do without a mother?" Tom yelled angrily at Amy while wringing parts of her clothes.
"What the hell are you talking about? I was not trying to kill myself stupid! And why would I kill myself? Like you said I have kids and they are very small! Don’t touch me!" Amy retorted in anger.
Tom frowned and was confused. Amy was in the water for a long amount of time and other people would have drowned already.
"You were not? Then what are doing in there? You scared the hell out of me!" Tom yelled back.
Amy looked away, avoiding Tom’s gaze while rubbing her arms to keep herself warm. "Well... I was looking for my ex-husband’s wristwatch and wedding ring."
"Huh? Why would look for it in the water?" Tom asked in confusion.
"I was angry at my ex-husband! So I threw it away... But I suddenly changed my mind. I looked for it and you stopped me! Now it’s surely gone!" Amy glared at Tom before hugging herself.
"Tsk... You will get sick. Let’s head back to the mansion," Tom said and headed towards the path going out of the river, but stopped after just a few steps.
"You go ahead, Tom. I will stay here. I don’t want to go back there yet. I have beach towels in the tent, I’ll be fine," Amy then made her way towards the tent but Tom stopped her.
"Stay by the fire. It should keep you warm. I’ll get the towels."
Amy glanced at Tom wanting to stop him but it was too late for he was already inside the tent. Amy sat by the bonfire and not too long Tom handed her the oversized towel.
"You can leave now," Amy said before standing up.
"I am not leaving. I’ll stay with you. It’s not safe for a woman to be alone in the woods in the middle of the night." Tom explained while watching Amy go behind a tree.
"I knew you would say that since you are stubborn. Turn around unless you want to watch me strip naked," Amy turned around and started pulling up her shirt.
Tom’s eyes widened in shock, he did not expect Amy to do such a thing. He quickly turned around and went near the bonfire since he was starting to feel cold.
He heard bottles clinking and soon saw Amy walk in front of the fire holding another bottle of vodka. The beach towel is really big so she covered herself with it as if it was a blanket.
"You are drinking again?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Why? Do you have a problem with that?" Amy said and raised a brow at Tom.
"No ma’am, just asking."
Amy pointed at the towel around Tom’s shoulders, "Aren’t you going to use that towel? Or are you already planning to use your sick leave?"
Tom did not reply but he dropped the towel to the ground gently and removed his wet shirt in front of Amy without removing his gaze at her.
Amy did not bother to look away and simply watched his driver-bodyguard. She squinted for a moment after seeing Tom’s toned body and quickly relaxed her face again.
’Why do I feel like I have seen his body before? Must be in the movies...’ Amy then shifted her gaze back to the bonfire while drinking her vodka.
