CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 188: Deep Breath

Amy was immediately air transported to the nearest hospital together with Henry. Rei and Ava accompanied them while Mitch and Dave returned to the Welsh Holdings building where everyone is still at.

It was already late at night and some of the search and rescue back-end team are packing up and some already went home. But Trev, Anton, and Mary stayed in the office waiting for Mitch and Dave. They are all eager to hear the news in person.

Theo was tasked by Anton to drive Sandra and Maya home after Amy was sent to the hospital. Amy would need them more on the farm than in the office to take care of all the work that she cannot attend to while recuperating.

Dave was assigned by Rei to increase the security manpower around Amy and her family. They cannot afford another incident like this and Rei will be the one to personally oversee the investigation of the jet sabotage.

Mitch was assigned to fix all of Amy’s schedule and Bellory’s operation in line with her hospitalization. Rei told Mitch to make sure that Amy will be able to attend all of the opening days of Bellory branches since Amy is looking forward to it.

Rei thought that it is also a good way to distract her after what happened. And as for Henry, Rei, and Anton will also make sure to give him a good distraction too.

While everyone has been given their own tasks to fulfill, it was only the people who are with Amy, who know what her real condition was. Rei doesn’t know how to deliver the bad news to everyone, especially to Anton and the girls. So he let Mitch decide whether she will say it to them or not since she will be the one to report to Anton about what happened anyway.

Mitch felt so unlucky to be the bearer of bad news, but she understands everyone’s situation and sometimes it is easier to hear the bad news coming from other people than from a close friend or a family member.

She went straight to the CEO’s floor as soon as their chopper landed on the helipad of Welsh Holdings’ building. Dave called out an emergency meeting among the Welsh Security Department and unfortunately cannot come with Mitch.

Her steps were heavy as she walked toward Anton’s office where everybody is. Amy was a good boss and friend to her that’s why she was so mad at what happened. When Amy told them to stay in Monte City while she is on their honeymoon they didn’t question her decision.

Even though Ava and Mitch now work at Bellory Inc., they are still part of her security team. And they didn’t even offer or insist on at least escorting the couple to the resort. They were all complacent that nothing will happen since only family, close friends, and some essential employees knows where the two are going and the resort has a high-security system and policy.

The three of them just like Rei, somehow felt a little guilt within themselves for taking the couple’s safety lightly.

Mitch took a deep breath before opening Anton’s office door and when she got in, the anxious faces of Anton, Trev, and Mary welcomed her.

"Thank God you are here! Please tell us Amy and Henry are ok!" Mary exclaimed.

"Boss Henry is ok, but he is still shaken about everything that’s why Boss Rei decided to stay there."

"If he is ok, then why are they in the hospital still?" Trevor grumbled. He was expecting Amy and Henry to be back in the city as soon as they were rescued but Ava informed them earlier that they are on their way to the hospital. They all thought that it is only for a standard procedure checkup.

"Uhm... Boss Amy needed a curettage procedure right away that’s why she was admitted to the nearest hospital there. But she will be transferred to the city as soon as she’s stable," Mitch tried her best in delivering the bad news lightly but she just can’t seem to tell them directly what really happened to Amy.

However, Mary understood what Mitch was trying to say while Anton and Trev has no idea what she is talking about.

Mary felt like a bucket of ice water was thrown on her and her head felt light as if she was floating. Mary slumped on the sofa behind her as she was dumbstruck. Sandra and she were still joking the other day about Amy being pregnant not realizing it was the reality that no one was aware of.

"What the hell does that mean?" Trev impatiently scoffed for Mitch is using medical jargon that he had never heard of. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Mitch pursed her lips and looked at Mary who was looking back at her. The two men followed Mitch’s gaze and saw the defeated expression of Mary, which they didn’t notice before.

"Mary, are you alright?" Anton quickly sat beside Mary who was already tearing up.

"It means, Amy and Henry lost their baby. She had an incomplete miscarriage that’s why the doctors decided to do that procedure on her," Mary explained before she covered her face for she couldn’t stop her tears from falling anymore.

Trevor was the one who collapsed on the other sofa this time. Mitch quickly ran to Trev for support.

"Mr. Welsh, are you ok? Do you need water?" Mitch worriedly asked and Trev accepted.

Just when he thought that his dreams for Henry were starting to get fulfilled, it was shattered just after a week. Everyone was happy, even his daughters when Henry got married and everyone was hoping that the two will soon have offsprings to run around them.

Just when he thought everything was going in the right direction, it was suddenly crushed by someone who doesn’t want to see them succeed. At his age, all he wanted is to be happy with his family.

He never really desired money and power ever since. He was a simple man who just wanted the best for his children and Henry is one of them. He doesn’t really care how much money he has, for it is nothing compared to the happiness that his family could give him.

And if anyone tries to destroy that, he will definitely make sure to make that person suffer.
