CEO loves me with all his soul.-Chapter 99.
Chapter 99: 99.
Isaac arrived at Levistis Manor just as the evening sky turned dusky blue. The grand estate stood in eerie silence, its towering architecture casting elongated shadows against the moonlight. As the car came to a stop, Leclair and Augustin exited first, while Isaac carefully unbuckled the twin babies from their car seats.
Augustin held Aurelius, the tiny boy babbling as he clutched onto his uncle’s coat. Adrian stepped forward, his silver eyes softening as he reached for his son. He gently took Aurelius from Augustin’s arms and pressed a tender kiss on his forehead. The baby blinked up at him with wide, sleepy eyes before curling against his father’s chest.
Leclair, standing beside Augustin, observed Adrian closely. His usual sharp gaze flickered with curiosity before he let out a thoughtful hum.
"You seem different," Augustin remarked, crossing his arms. "Even after everything with Ethan... you’re calmer, more composed."
Adrian shifted his grip on Aurelius, rocking him slightly before handing the baby back to the waiting butler. He let out a quiet chuckle, though there was no humor in it. "I have to be," he admitted. "I need to be the strength Ethan can lean on, not another burden for him to carry."
Augustin’s expression softened as he reached out and patted Adrian’s shoulder. "Good," he said approvingly. "Ethan will need that."
Isaac, who had been silent up until now, finally stepped forward. His golden eyes narrowed slightly as he studied Adrian. "You told me something on the phone," he said. "Something about your memories."
Adrian’s smile faded slightly, his expression growing serious. He turned to the butler, nodding toward the twins. "Take them to their room," he instructed.
The butler bowed and carried Aurelius and Seraphina away, leaving Adrian alone with Isaac, Leclair, and Augustin. They made their way into the sitting room, where a warm fire crackled in the fireplace, casting flickering shadows on the walls. Adrian sat down first, his hands clasped together as he exhaled deeply.
"I remember things now," Adrian began, his voice steady but low. "Memories from before I became a Hudel. Before I was even five years old."
Isaac leaned forward slightly, his gaze sharp. "Tell us everything."
Adrian nodded. "I remember being in a cold laboratory... sterile, metallic, filled with the hum of machines. There were people around me, scientists in white coats, performing tests." His hands clenched involuntarily. "I was experimented on."
Leclair’s expression darkened, and Augustin remained silent, his brow furrowed in thought.
"There were many faces," Adrian continued, "but two of them stood out. One was the Lab Head, the one who was leading the experiments on me. The other..." He hesitated, his lips pressing together.
"The Shaw family’s head," Isaac finished for him, his tone edged with anger.
Adrian nodded, his grip on the couch tightening. "Yes. Yuden Shaw. I remember seeing him talking to those researchers. When I was younger, I didn’t understand what they were discussing, but now... it all makes sense."
Leclair let out a sharp breath. "You’re saying Yuden Shaw was directly involved in whatever experiments were done on you?"
"Yes," Adrian confirmed. "And not just me. I don’t know how many others, but I was one of them."
Isaac’s jaw tightened. "That bastard. I should have known."
Adrian leaned back, his silver eyes reflecting the fire’s glow. "I don’t know what exactly they did to me, but one thing is certain—they didn’t want me to remember."
Leclair tapped his fingers against his knee, thinking. "Memory suppression. It’s possible they used some sort of drug or conditioning to make you forget."
"Probably," Adrian agreed. "But for some reason, those memories are coming back now."
Isaac exhaled, rubbing his temples. "This changes everything. If Yuden Shaw was involved, then this isn’t just about Ethan or the twins. It’s bigger than that."
Adrian met his gaze. "That’s what I’m afraid of."
Augustin spoke up then, his voice calm but firm. "Adrian, do you think the experiments on you are linked to the current situation with Ethan and the twins?"
A shadow passed over Adrian’s face. "I think it’s highly likely." He turned to Isaac. "That man in the white coat—the one you were tracking—he’s part of the same organization, isn’t he?"
Isaac nodded grimly. "Yes. And if he was working with Yuden Shaw, then this has been going on for much longer than we realized."
Leclair, always one to analyze situations methodically, spoke next. "You said you were experimented on, but do you remember what they were testing?"
Adrian shook his head. "Not exactly. But... I think it had something to do with my blood."
Isaac and Augustin exchanged a glance.
Adrian continued, his voice quieter now. "When I was a child, I used to get sick often. Fevers, strange symptoms. The doctors in the Hudel family always said I was weak, but what if... what if that wasn’t natural?"
Leclair frowned. "If they altered something in your body when you were young, it’s possible that your health issues were side effects of those experiments."
Isaac exhaled sharply. "And if the twins inherited something from you..."
A heavy silence filled the room.
Adrian clenched his fists. "I won’t let them touch my children."
Isaac placed a hand on Adrian’s shoulder. "They won’t. We won’t let them."
Augustin shifted in his seat. "We need to be careful. Now that you’re remembering, they might try to take you back."
"I’d like to see them try," Isaac muttered, his golden eyes dark with fury.
Leclair leaned forward. "Adrian, do you remember where this lab was?"
Adrian hesitated before shaking his head. "No. I remember the inside, but not where it was located."
Isaac stood abruptly. "Then we’ll find it. I have connections, resources—we’ll track them down."
Adrian’s gaze hardened. "I’ll help."
Isaac turned to him, his expression serious. "Adrian, you need to focus on Ethan and the twins."
"I will," Adrian promised. "But I won’t sit back and do nothing."
Isaac sighed but nodded. "Fine. But you listen to me—we do this carefully. No reckless moves."
Adrian smirked slightly. "When have I ever been reckless?"
Isaac gave him a deadpan stare.
Augustin snorted. "Do you really want us to answer that?"
Adrian let out a chuckle despite the heaviness of the situation.
Leclair, however, remained serious. "We’ll start digging into Yuden Shaw’s connections. If he was involved, then there must be records somewhere."
Adrian’s expression darkened. "If he’s still involved in this... I’ll make sure he regrets it."
Augustin glanced at Adrian, This boy was so timid and shy when they first met. He had low self-esteem and seemed too dependent on others opinion.
Now look at him...
Blooming like a rose, that had beared the wildest storms.
He would have been a wonderful youngman if the tragedy would have never happened. The pride of his family, the beloved one.
Though, he did find himself back, he didn’t deserve all that treatment and neglect because of some people disgusting benefits.
Augustin sighed, he sometimes get overemotional.
Leclair tapped Augustin’s forehead and whispered, "You worry too much, Why in such a hurry to get old?"
Hearing this, Augustin chuckled.
As the conversation wound down, the fire in the sitting room crackled softly, filling the silence between them. Adrian leaned back, his eyes glancing toward the hallway where his twins had been taken.
Isaac watched him for a moment before speaking. "Adrian."
Adrian turned back to him.
Isaac’s voice was firm, but not unkind. "No matter what you remember... you’re still you. And we’ll face this together."
Adrian’s silver eyes softened. "I know."
Augustin stood, stretching. "We should get some rest. Tomorrow, we start uncovering the truth."
Leclair nodded in agreement. "And we do it right. No rushing in blind."
Adrian exhaled. "Understood."
Isaac clapped Adrian’s shoulder before standing. "Get some sleep, Adrian. We’ll figure this out."
Adrian nodded, watching as they left the room one by one.
He sat in silence for a long moment, then finally stood, making his way toward Ethan’s bedroom.
As he entered, he walked over to the bed, looking down at his lover’s still form. He gently took Ethan’s hand in his own.
"When will you wake up?"
--
The sterile scent of antiseptic filled the air, mingling with the faint aroma of fresh lilies placed on the bedside table. The private hospital room was dimly lit, with only the soft glow of a bedside lamp illuminating the fragile figure lying in the center of the massive, plush bed.
Jaya Sebanil had always been a breathtaking beauty—her golden hair cascading over her pillow like spun sunlight, her delicate features akin to a porcelain doll. But now, her once vibrant glow had dulled. Her cheeks were sunken, her skin unnaturally pale, and her small hands lay motionless against the silk sheets.
She had been like this for a long time. A slumber that seemed endless, a coma that held her prisoner in a world of silence.
The heart monitor beeped steadily, a rhythmic sound that echoed in the otherwise still room. The quiet hum of the IV drip was the only other sign of life.
Then, for the first time in months, something changed.
A faint flicker.
Her fingers twitched, barely perceptible.
A shadow of movement played beneath her delicate eyelids before her lashes fluttered, struggling against the weight of her unconsciousness. A moment later, her eyes—a striking moonlight silver—opened.
Glass-like and unfocused, her gaze swept the unfamiliar surroundings, pupils dilating slightly as she adjusted to the dim lighting.
She parted her lips as if to say something, but no sound emerged. A deep exhaustion tugged at her body, and before she could even attempt to make sense of where she was, her eyelids drooped once more.
She slipped back into unconsciousness, her fragile breath steady but weak.
Outside the room, the presence of her awakening did not go unnoticed.
A tall figure stood beyond the glass wall separating the private ward from the hallway. Dressed in an immaculate black suit, his face remained expressionless, but his eyes—sharp and glacial—held an unmistakable intensity.
After a long moment, he retrieved his phone and dialed a number.
"She woke up," his voice was low, devoid of emotion.
A pause.
"But only for a few seconds."
The response on the other end was short, but it made the man’s lips curve slightly—a movement so subtle it barely registered as a smirk.
He ended the call, slipping the phone back into his pocket before casting one final glance at the sleeping girl.
Jaya Sebanil had returned to the land of the living.
