CEO loves me with all his soul.-Chapter 56. Isaac’s talk time
Chapter 56: 56. Isaac’s talk time
Adrian sat quietly by Ethan’s bedside, his fingers tightly clutching the edge of the chair. For the past three days, he had been the only one who could see Ethan’s soul floating in and out of his body—talking to him, comforting him, trying to explain that everything would be fine. But to everyone else, Adrian had looked like he was losing his mind, speaking to air, desperately trying to hold on to something that wasn’t there.
Now, Ethan’s soul had vanished. Adrian’s wide eyes darted around the room, searching, panic rising in his chest. He stood up abruptly, stumbling forward. "Ethan?" His voice cracked, barely above a whisper, as he reached out into the empty space. "Ethan! Where are you?"
Isaac, Leclair, Augustin, and Lucas exchanged uneasy glances. Isaac looked away, gritting his teeth, unable to watch his brother like this. To him, Adrian’s desperation was painful, his obsession with Ethan bordering on madness. He clenched his fists, wishing he could do something—anything—to help. But no one could. Not until Ethan woke up.
Augustin quickly moved to Adrian’s side, wrapping a protective arm around him and guiding him back to the chair. "Adrian, sit down. You need to rest. Please."
Adrian, his eyes red and puffy from sleepless nights, leaned against Augustin’s chest. His heart felt like it was being squeezed, the weight of the last few days pressing down on him. "He was here... I swear he was here... Why did he leave?"
Augustin patted Adrian’s shoulder, his voice soft and soothing. "He’ll come back, Adrian. Just... breathe. You have to stay strong for him."
Suddenly, a weak but familiar voice cut through the tension in the room.
"Adrian...?"
Everyone froze.
Adrian’s head shot up, and he looked toward the bed, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Ethan?" he whispered, almost afraid to believe it.
Ethan, his face pale and gaunt, lay on the hospital bed, his eyes half-open but unmistakably alive. His lips curled into a weak smile, a tear sliding down his cheek. "I’m right here, love."
For a moment, the room was deathly silent. No one moved, no one breathed, as if they were all waiting to see if this was real or just another illusion.
But it was real.
"Ethan!" Adrian cried, scrambling to his feet, but his body was still weak from the stress and lack of rest. He stumbled, his legs giving out beneath him. Augustin quickly caught him and helped him stand.
"Easy, Adrian," Augustin said gently, guiding him toward the bed. "You’re still recovering too."
Adrian smiled for the first time in three days—an exhausted, relieved smile. His heart swelled as he saw Ethan’s bright eyes focused on him, alive, awake. He sat down on the edge of the bed, carefully, as if afraid that touching Ethan too hard would break him.
Ethan’s hand trembled as he reached up and gently touched Adrian’s face, his fingers tracing the familiar contours of his cheek. His thumb brushed against Adrian’s lips, and his eyes filled with emotion. "I missed you," Ethan said softly, his voice barely a whisper.
Adrian’s eyes watered again, but this time it wasn’t from fear or sadness—it was relief. "I missed you too," he whispered back, leaning into Ethan’s touch. "I thought... I thought I lost you."
Ethan shook his head slowly, his gaze never leaving Adrian’s. "You’ll never lose me, Adrian. Never."
Leclair, who had been standing quietly by the door, coughed awkwardly, breaking the intimate moment. "I’m glad to see you’re awake, Ethan, but we’re all still here, you know."
Ethan’s eyes flickered over to the rest of the room, and he let out a small chuckle, though it was weak. "Oh, right. Sorry, didn’t mean to get too sappy."
Isaac, who had been watching the scene with clenched fists, finally turned his gaze away. The sight of Ethan flirting with Adrian, the way Adrian smiled so lovingly at him—it made Isaac’s stomach churn. He couldn’t stand it. Not after everything.
Lucas noticed Isaac’s expression, the way his jaw was tight with anger and something else—something more complicated. Lucas leaned in and whispered, "What’s with that look? You mad Ethan woke up?"
Isaac shot Lucas a glare. "Shut up. I’m just... annoyed."
"Annoyed that Adrian’s happy?" Lucas raised an eyebrow, genuinely confused.
Isaac huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "I am relieved. I just... don’t like seeing him all over that bastard." He gestured toward Ethan, who was still holding Adrian’s hand like he’d never let go. "He doesn’t deserve Adrian."
Lucas gave Isaac a sidelong glance. "You sure it’s Ethan that’s the problem? Or are you just jealous they’ve got each other, and you’ve got nothing?"
Isaac’s eyes narrowed dangerously, but he didn’t respond. He didn’t need to. Lucas knew he had struck a nerve.
Before the tension between the two could escalate, the door to the room opened, and a doctor entered, followed by a nurse. "Mr. Levistis," the doctor said, looking directly at Ethan. "You’ve given us all quite a scare."
Ethan smiled weakly. "I like to keep things exciting."
The doctor shook his head, amused but serious. "Let’s just be thankful you’re still with us. Now, let’s check your vitals."
As the doctor and nurse began their examination, Adrian moved aside, but he didn’t let go of Ethan’s hand. He stood close, his eyes never leaving Ethan’s face, as if afraid he would disappear if he blinked.
Isaac, still brooding in the corner, muttered under his breath, "I swear, if I have to watch them flirt one more time..."
Lucas chuckled, nudging Isaac. "Come on, give it a rest. They’ve been through hell. Let them have their moment."
Isaac rolled his eyes but said nothing. He couldn’t deny the truth of Lucas’s words, no matter how much it annoyed him. Adrian deserved to be happy, and for now, that meant dealing with Ethan.
As the doctor finished his check-up, he nodded in approval. "You’re still weak, but you’re stable. Just take it easy for a while. No sudden movements or stress."
Ethan grinned, squeezing Adrian’s hand. "You heard him. Guess I’ll need a lot of care from you, huh?"
Adrian blushed, looking down, but a small smile tugged at his lips. "I’ll take care of you, don’t worry."
Isaac groaned audibly, throwing his hands up in frustration. "Oh, come on! Can you two just tone it down for five minutes?!"
Ethan narrowed his eyes at Isaac. "And why exactly are you still hanging around here?" His voice dripped with sarcasm, clearly not in the mood for games.
Isaac crossed his arms and shot back, "Why? I’ve decided I want to marry into your family."
The room fell into a stunned silence.
Ethan, Leclair, Augustin, and Adrian all blinked at him, utterly confused by what they had just heard.
Adrian, sitting closest to Ethan, turned to his husband with wide eyes. "Do we... have a younger sister or brother I don’t know about?" he asked, genuinely perplexed.
Augustin, equally baffled, looked at Leclair, who was now sitting down to rest his legs. "Honey, do you have a younger sister or something you’ve been keeping from me?"
Leclair, equally stumped, exchanged a bewildered glance with Ethan. Neither of them seemed to have the faintest idea what Isaac was talking about.
Isaac, loving every second of the confusion he had created, grinned wickedly. "You guys are so clueless," he mocked, stepping forward with an air of superiority. "No siblings involved." Then, in a move that shocked everyone, he grabbed Lucas—Ethan’s personal doctor—by the arm and pulled him to his side. Before anyone could react, Isaac leaned in and kissed him, his lips meeting Lucas’s in a sudden, bold gesture.
The whole room seemed to freeze.
Ethan, still lying on the hospital bed, immediately shut his eyes as if to block out the sight, clearly not ready to witness such a scene. "For the love of—why do I even bother?" he muttered under his breath.
Leclair, who had been trying to hold himself together, turned his head away with a muffled laugh, one hand covering his mouth to stifle the sound.
Adrian and Augustin, on the other hand, were too shocked to react. Their mouths were literally hanging open, frozen in disbelief. The suddenness of Isaac’s bold move had left them both speechless.
Lucas, the poor man who had just been dragged into this mess, looked utterly dumbstruck. His eyes were wide, his face flushed, and for a moment, he seemed too stunned to process what had just happened. He blinked, clearly caught off guard by the kiss.
Isaac, clearly enjoying the chaos he had unleashed, let go of Lucas and smirked at the room. "You all look like fish out of water." He glanced at Adrian, whose eyes were still wide in disbelief. "I told you I wanted to marry into the family," he added with a smug smile, giving Lucas a wink. "Guess you didn’t see this coming, huh?"
Lucas, finally regaining his composure, stared at Isaac as if he couldn’t believe what had just happened. "Wh-what... what the hell was that for?!" he sputtered, stepping back with a hand over his lips. He looked absolutely mortified, but there was a faint blush creeping up his neck.
"Just staking my claim," Isaac said casually, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. He flashed a grin at Lucas, clearly satisfied with the reaction he was getting from everyone.
Ethan groaned from his spot on the bed, covering his face with his hand. "I can’t believe this is happening..." he muttered. "Of all the things I need right now, this was not one of them."
Adrian finally snapped out of his daze, looking between Isaac and Lucas, still trying to process what he had just witnessed. "Wait... so you... and Lucas?!" He was almost afraid to ask, his voice filled with disbelief.
Isaac nodded smugly. "Yep. Got a problem with that?"
Adrian suddenly felt enlightened, So that was why he was in that abandoned house and why he appeared near by the levistis manor..
