Celestial Speed: Legacy-Chapter 70: Speed Simulator
Henry was stunned, not because Felicity had actual speed abilities, but rather because he didn’t even know what ’actual’ meant
"So, one of your three abilities is actually speed, right?" he asked, trying to confirm everything
Felicity nodded. "Indeed, and this also means that you have lost the deal," she said with a grin
Henry raised an eyebrow, he didn’t care about that anymore, actually he didn’t even remember. What he was hearing now was to shocking.
"But if she has ice abilities and speed, that means, the last ability is the one that allows her access to every other kind of ability in existence, but what could it be?" Henry pondered in his mind
"I did warn you, didn’t i? I wanted to grant you your own ship if you had guessed right," she added
Henry had a confounded look on his face, he knew that even if he had guessed that she had speed abilities, there was no way he would know the last one. It was pointless to even try.
"Are you sure the last ability isn’t psychic?" he asked with doubt, remembering that she had once told him that psychic abilities weren’t part of the actual three.
"It’s not, but don’t worry I’ll tell you someday, when you’re powerful enough to know," Felicity stated and stood up
But Henry wasn’t satisfied with the information he had received, it was like watching only half of a movie and it suddenly stops, he needed to know the other half.
"Wait! So what did you mean by, ’was a speedster?" he asked
Felicity sighed. "I quit," she said calmly. And as for why, even i don’t really know. But let’s just say, i got bored,"
Henry stared at her like he was looking at a 5 year old saying she was bored of ice cream, It was almost impossible.
"You got bored of speed?" Henry asked in disbelief, having the urge to spank her head. This was an ability most people prayed for, even those with cool abilities still wished to be able to move really fast, it was an ability that made one practically invincible.
"That’s right, i got bored, of running round the world, of moving faster than time, of moving fast at all. I know that you think I’m nuts," Felicity replied with a wry smile to which Henry nodded
"But, when you realize that you have all the time in the world, and that at the same time you can move faster than even that time... You’ll get bored and won’t see the point of living anymore, you’ll lose the value of time and life. And if you don’t stop to catch a breath, then... You could lose yourself," she muttered slowly, with a tone of sadness
"Huh?" Henry said with a confused expression. "I have no idea what you’re talking about,"
Felicity chuckled. "Don’t worry, you’ll understand when you’re older. Just enjoy your youth and always remember to take a break from time to time, okay?" she said with a demanding tone
"Sure thing, mum," Henry replied with a smile, remembering that Felicity was older than she looked. "She is already quite old, maybe she’s bored and tired... Or just needs a little thrill," he thought, staring at his mother with pity.
But what he didn’t know was that Felicity wasn’t tired of living at all, but she was indeed bored, it had been a long time since she had a decent battle with someone, she simply missed the time of war. What’s the point of having so much power without having to use them.
"Besides, i can teleport, so why stress my legs. Come, i want to show you something," she added and motioned for Henry to follow her, and they both left the room.
They walked past a few doors before Felicity stopped by a rather large door, it was wider than the rest of the other doors in the building. She opened it and they both entered into an even larger room, one larger than the velocity circuit.
"Welcome to the speed simulator," she declared
As they stepped into the massive room, Henry’s eyes widened in awe. The space was cavernous, with a high ceiling that seemed to disappear into darkness. The walls, floor, and ceiling were all made of a sleek, silver material that seemed to absorb and reflect the light in a mesmerizing way.
The room was completely empty, except for a series of thin, glowing lines that crisscrossed the floor. These lines pulsed with a soft, blue light, and seemed to be some sort of grid or matrix.
Felicity, who had been leading Henry through the facility, smiled proudly as she gestured to the room. "This is the speed simulator," she repeated. "It’s a cutting-edge training facility that allows us to simulate high-speed environments and test the limits of your reaction time and reflexes."
As she spoke, the room began to transform around them. The glowing lines on the floor started to shift and change, forming complex patterns and shapes. The walls and ceiling began to display a dizzying array of images and data, including speedometers, GPS coordinates, and real-time video feeds.
Henry’s eyes darted back and forth, trying to take it all in. "This is incredible," he breathed. "How does it work?"
Felicity grinned. "It uses advanced algorithms and AI to generate realistic environments. It can simulate anything from a simple grass racetrack to one one the moon. The system tracks the user’s movements and reactions, providing real-time feedback and analysis, so you’ll definitely feel pain and pleasure but won’t die," she explained
Henry nodded in understanding. "it’s huge," he muttered with astonishment
Felicity chuckled. "It’s not just huge, it’s whatever you imagine, you can create a scenario of a place wider than this,"
"You can think about whatever you want, place, beast, anything at all, and it’ll simulate here and you can practice with it. It’s generally called a simulation room but i decided to add speed to it just for fun," Felicity explained with a slight chuckle.
"Hmm, if i kill something here, I wonder if the system would give me exp?" he pondered inwardly.
"Nice, this is really cool, the entire speed lab is really cool. With all these equipments, I’ll definitely improve," Henry said with excitement 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Good, I like your enthusiasm. Training starts now!" Felicity declared with a serious expression
Henry sighed. "Great, she’s going to be my coach, and something tells me she’ll be worse than Xavier," he muttered to himself.
