Celestial Speed: Legacy-Chapter 55: Illusion

The old man led Henry into a grand hall, just like the rest of the buildings architecture, it was a icy haven. A large glittering chandelier hung from the ceiling, just below the long shiny ice sculpted table which occupied dishes and fruits of various kinds. The chairs which also seemed to be made of glittering blue ice, surrounded the table with Felicity sitting on one of them.

"Thank you Wallace, you may take your leave," she said with a gentle smile.

"Yes, my lady." The old man bowed and left the dining, closing the large door behind him.

"Come now, have a seat and feast," Felicity said to Henry, pointing to a chair in front of her. Henry who had been admiring the plan immediately snapped out of his trance and nodded.

"Hm," he muttered before walking up to the chair and sitting down, directly facing Felicity, who was still smiling.

"Um... What about Emily?" Henry asked, deciding to break the silence

"She’s busy, so decided to have dinner later," Felicity replied and opened on of the stainless dish plates, revealing a large fried chicken.

"I didn’t know your favorite, so I had them prepare all sorts of nice delicacies. But I presume, chicken is a general favorite," she continued before cutting a large part of the meat and placing it on her plate. Then she took a dinner fork and knife, cut a small part of it and put it in her mouth and chewed.

"Hmmm," she grunted in satisfaction and motioned with her hand for Henry to try it. "Go on, don’t be shy,"

Henry glanced at the enticing chicken, then shifted his gaze back to Felicity who had taken another slice and enjoying her meal. His stomach grumbled at the sight and aroma of all the tantalizing dishes placed before him, but he had more pressing matters.

"How about we discuss the discussion first? Hm," he muttered with a serious expression.

Felicity paused and smiled. "Straight to business i see. Not bad,"

She placed the cutleries down and took a sip from her wine cup. "Though I should warn you, this discussion would last for a very long time," she said, while gently dabbing her lips with a napkin.

Henry raised an eyebrow, how could she possibly know how long the discussion would last, he only had a few words to say.

"I’ll take my chances with my stomach," he replied

"Hmm, very disciplined, you’ll make quite the excellent son," she said with a smile

Henry’s expression grew more serious. "Just get on with it, i have things to do," he voiced out, already getting impatient.

Felicity smiled. "Things like leveling up?" she stated.

Henry’s eyes widened, he was so shocked that his heart skipped a beat. "How the fuck did she know? It doesn’t make sense! Did she always know... Or maybe she meant so else," he yelled in his mind, but remained calm on the surface.

"I don’t know what you mean, I’m not into playing video games this days," he muttered calmly.

Felicity suddenly frowned, the smile and gentle expression completely replaced with a strict and intimidating one.

"Are you lying to your mother? I don’t like being lied to," she said, as her frown deepened.

"And no! I did not mean something else," she added and crossed her legs under the table. Acting like a strict mother who is about to discipline her spoilt child.

Henry was now panicking, whatever calm expression he was trying to facade was completely gone, both on the surface and inward.

"Crap! I completely forgot, she’s psychic!" he exclaimed in his mind. "She definitely knows about the system, but how? My only guess is... Alicia! Of course, it had to be her. She probably knew already but didn’t say a word, afterall her ability is literally something like an algorithm something..." he pondered. With different thoughts forming in his mind already.

"No, Alicia didn’t tell me either. Even though she knew about your abnormal speed, she never even told me; her godmother," Felicity said with a sadistic smile, having heard Henry’s thoughts.

"It’s either you’re important to her plans or... She likes you. I hope it’s the former though. And yes I know about the system, just like i know you’ve been hunting. i know about the museum incident as well," she stated, her serious expression back.

"This is bad! This is really bad! She knows everything. Xavier, it must be him, knew i shouldn’t have trusted that old man," Henry muttered to himself, while gritting his teeth. But Felicity’s next words shocked him to the core.

"Xavier didn’t tell me anything except for the fact that you go hunting, everything else i found out myself... Or rather i knew already. You see, Henry, i know how this conversation ends, I’ve seen what happens in the next few minutes, i know everything. So just make this easier for both of us and tell me everything yourself, so I can trust the you have good intentions," she explained.

"What! I thought she only had ice and psychic abilities! Although... The internet did say there was never a recorded ability for her, that it was like she had every type of ability in existence, that’s why she’s called the lady of mysteries," Henry said inwardly

"In that case, then I have my answer to all of this," he voiced out and stood up making sure to keep his mind blank so she won’t read it.

"I don’t want to go ahead with the adoption, but I know you won’t accept so easily. So..."

Henry said and took a deep breath

"Activate dash," he whispered while at the same time enabling his time perception skill. And without thinking, Henry bolted.

Within a millisecond, he had opened the door to the dining room and within a complete second, he was already out of the mansion, running and running without any intention of stopping.

"Equip Talaria-x!" he voiced out after reaching about a mile from the mansion.

"Activate Sprint!" Henry ordered immediately he saw the message and felt his sneakers get replaced by a warmer footwear that reached his knees.

[Speed Rate: 4320km/hr] <5 Seconds>

"Fair enough," Henry whispered as he felt his speed increase exponentially. He was running through the blue city with all his might and speed. He didn’t know where he was headed exactly but he knew he had to atleast try and get as far away as possible.

"I should have a good headstart since she probably didn’t expect me to run," he said as his body passed through the wind, already getting hotter. Earlier at the mansion, Henry knew if he thought about any plan to escape, Felicity would find out by reading his mind. So he had to do something impulsive, something he wouldn’t think about doing before he did it. Run!

"Crap! Fucking heat friction is already at play! Can i never run at full speed without wearing a goddamn suit!" Henry exclaimed inwardly and was about to equip the Nitro suit when a soft voice suddenly drifted into his ears.

"You should stop, your body would flare up at any second," The feminine voice chuckled. But Henry recognized the voice instantly, it was that of the woman he was running from.

"Fuck! Telepathy. Can she find me using it?" Henry pondered. "But No! I’ll never stop, i won’t lose so easily!" he yelled and equipped the Nitro suit. It’s blue intricates lighting up, indicating it’s activation.

With the sprint skill still active, Henry’s speed has gotten boost massive boost, one he had never received before. He felt euphoric as he saw the information on the screen, he could feel his body becoming lighter, and even if it was only going to last for about 3 seconds, Henry was determined.

"I will make this count," he muttered and was about to utilize the limited boost and experience a speed close to Mach 10. But the voice interrupted him again, but this time doing more than just speaking.

"My my, such a strong determination to escape the evil queen. Huhu," Felicity chuckled. "But you are forgetting something Henry, i already know... Everything," she whispered.

And immediately she said the last word, Henry couldn’t feel his feet on the ground again, Infact he couldn’t feel the wind on his face, the motion of running had suddenly ended. It was like he had stopped moving generally.

"Huh? What..." Henry said in confusion before pausing at a sudden realization of his new... Or rather old surroundings. He was sitting on a chair in the Glacial palace dining room, holding a fork and knife with a chicken lap placed on a plate in front of him, half eaten.

"What! How?" he muttered slowly, gazing at the smiling ice queen sitting in front of him. He was back in the mansion... Or rather

"You never left," Felicity replied with a soft smile and put a piece of meat in her mouth.
