Caught in Affairs with Superstar-Chapter 239 - 201: The Ascent: 37_2
Chapter 239: Chapter 201: The Ascent: 37_2
"Let’s go to the other side," Li Qi whispered to Lew Qingqing.
But Lew Qingqing looked at Zhou Yun, blinking her big eyes, and said, "You don’t mind if we share a table, right?"
Zhou Yun thought to herself, mind. She gave an awkward smile, but said nothing.
She felt her attitude was clear enough. Anyone with a sense of propriety would have left by now.
But Lew Qingqing seemed completely oblivious and sat down next to Zhou Yun. She was so close that Zhou Yun had to move over a bit. Zhou Yun looked at Lew Qingqing incredulously, not sure how to begin.
Song Chi looked at Lew Qingqing in surprise.
However, Lew Qingqing ignored the looks from Zhou Yun and Song Chi, and with a silly, sweet smile on her face, she looked up at her boyfriend who was still standing by the table and said, "Sit down, too."
Zhou Yun felt that this guy named Li Qi was so embarrassed that he was all thumbs. He shot Song Chi an apologetic glance and sat down uneasily.
Lew Qingqing curiously looked at Zhou Yun and Song Chi, then suddenly asked, "How long have you two been secretly dating like this?"
"We’re not secretly dating; we’re just out for a drink in broad daylight, is that sneaky?" Zhou Yun was a bit annoyed, her tone not too kind, and she frowned and glared at Lew Qingqing.
She didn’t know what was going on with Lew Qingqing tonight; it was like she was completely lacking in intelligence, unable to read the room or understand people’s words, repeatedly irritating others.
Lew Qingqing, on the other hand, laughed with a snort, as if something very interesting happened.
"Zhou Yun, why are you getting angry out of embarrassment? I won’t tell anyone," Lew Qingqing suddenly seemed to lose interest, waving her hand as if she was too lazy to talk about it anymore, "Fine, if you don’t want to admit it, then don’t."
Song Chi slightly furrowed his brows and looked at Zhou Yun, saying, "Let’s go."
Zhou Yun nodded and was about to get up.
Suddenly, Lew Qingqing let out a sneer full of sarcasm, "I thought you two would be different, but after all this fuss, you’re still judging people by their looks. Yes, I’ve broken up with that bastard Chen Jusheng, and now all of you look down on me."
She chuckled lightly, murmuring, "What a joke!"
Zhou Yun looked at her with pity and said, "All this time it’s been you talking to yourself. Whatever happened between you and Chen Jusheng is none of our freaking business."
"Hmph," Lew Qingqing scoffed.
"Let’s go," said Song Chi.
The two left the bar and walked onto the quiet pedestrian path.
Both of them put on their masks.
The unpleasantness that had just happened in the bar disappeared like a popped bubble, vanishing into thin air.
"Lew Qingqing got dumped by Chen Jusheng; she’s probably in a bad mood. Don’t let her spoil yours," Song Chi said.
"No way, but why was she dumped?" Zhou Yun was curious. "Not long ago, I saw them together and they seemed quite happy."
"Who knows, these things... if they don’t tell us, we wouldn’t know."
"She’s bounced back quickly, jumping into a new relationship so soon," Zhou Yun sarcastically said, "but she’s become so spiteful."
"She’s venting, deliberately finding a young and handsome boy to show to Chen Jusheng," Song Chi offered his own view.
"How meaningless. Even after breaking up she’s venting like this, apparently needing another boyfriend to vent." Zhou Yun stopped abruptly and shook her head, "Forget it, I shouldn’t be so mean gossiping about someone behind their back."
"Ha ha, suddenly you’re bound by morality?"
"I just don’t want to become a gossip."
Suddenly a strong wind picked up.
The leaves above their heads rustled like chimes.
"The wind’s getting strong," said Song Chi. "Maybe we should find a place to sit for a while?"
"Do you have work tomorrow morning?" Zhou Yun asked.
"Yes," Song Chi said.
"Then you should hurry back to rest," Zhou Yun waved her hand, "let’s call it a night."
"Let’s walk a little longer," Song Chi said.
"You really are... fine." Zhou Yun sighed with relief. "It would be funny if someone took a photo of us, a couple of the opposite sex wandering the streets in the middle of the night."
"It’s only eleven o’clock at night, hardly the middle of the night," Song Chi quipped. "Couldn’t let the enjoyment be spoiled by that incident earlier."
"You think night walks should end in high spirits?" Zhou Yun quipped back. fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm
Song Chi looked down and smiled gently, and then he softly began,
"Venturing by candlelight at night has its reasons."
"Why bring up ancient prose now? Scholar Song planning to recite poetry and express his feelings?" Zhou Yun teased with a light laugh.
"Shall I give it a try?" Song Chi lifted his brows.
"You try. If it’s even slightly disgusting, I’ll puke on the spot in front of you," Zhou Yun walked ahead, turned back and flipped Song Chi the bird, "It’s easy for a handsome guy to screw up when trying to be cool."
Song Chi looked at Zhou Yun with calm eyes, his mouth and eyes both maintaining a kind of focused smile that was captivating.
Under his gaze, Zhou Yun’s heartbeat became somewhat erratic.
He looked at Zhou Yun and said:
"Where is there not a bright moon on the spring river?"
"But only a few leisurely people like us here."
Zhou Yun was startled for a second, then caught on and mockingly scolded, "Wang Ruoxu and Su Dongpo must be rolling in their graves because of you."
Unaware, while she was scolding Song Chi, her laughter carried a light and carefree relief as if she had no worries in the world.
Her words and feelings were at odds.
Song Chi took two steps forward, came up beside Zhou Yun, and said, "I don’t know if I’d infuriate them, but Su Shi did say, set off joyfully, can’t return dejectedly."
"Su Shi is going to have to come out of his books and beat you up for not only twisting his words but also for attaching a dog’s tail to his work," Zhou Yun said before abruptly stopping.
Because Song Chi suddenly took her hand.
