CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 267: Void Gate

Colonel Donovan took the binoculars and scanned the abandoned field of the area. He remembered the place was infested with RCEs before the sun went down yesterday. But now, there were only emptied fields.

"Where are all those RCEs?" Donovan said.

"We don’t know for sure, Colonel." The soldier shook his head.

Colonel Donovan returned the binoculars to the soldier, "Request an NES scan from HQ."

"Yes, Colonel!"

Soon, a new report was sent to the military base. The Colonel pulled it up onto the projector.

He was inside the war room with the other commanding officers.

"This is..." An officer widened his eyes.

They did a scan yesterday just before Assassin had arrived. It showed at least 200 threats roaming in the area.

Today, that number didn’t even reach 100.

"What happened?" Colonel Donovan squinted his eyes.

Everyone shook their heads. They were as clueless as Donovan.

Suddenly, a soldier ran into the room.

"We have spotted Assassin, sir!" He shouted.

Colonel Donovan returned to the lookout with the other commanding officers.

They saw Assassin and the snow leopard taking on five Void Wraiths at the same time. The Rank-1 Void Wraiths were nothing compared to them and they quickly subdued all of them.

"He’s still alive..." Colonel Donovan mumbled.

"Should we continue to request for reinforcement, sir?"

"No need. I underestimated him. Assassin got this. Continue observing the area."

"Yes, sir!"

Crow and Mater quickly dealt with the five Void Wraiths. The Snow Leopard sneakily absorbed their Chaos when it bit into the wraiths.

From the other’s point of view, the wraiths disintegrated because of his bite.

Mater gained an additional 35 Chaos Spheres from this small squad of wraiths.

"That should be enough to assure the Union." The leopard growled. "Let’s go somewhere else that they can’t see us."

"Yes, Master!"

Crow jumped on the leopard and they went out of vision of the military base.

The soldier who was watching him pouted his lips, "Aw, come on!"

Mater and Crow entered the small town. The central point of the Void’s invasion. This was where most of the Void Gates resided.

Mater used the power of the Psycho Pact and contacted Selina.

The goth girl was brushing her teeth when she heard Mater’s voice.

’You’re busy?’ Mater’s voice echoed in Selina’s head.

Selina froze. She looked around to make sure Erin wasn’t there. Erin had already left and only Selina was in the dormitory.

"Not right now." Selina replied.

’You don’t need to speak aloud. Just thoughts would be enough.’ Mater replied.

’Can you hear me?’

’I do. I need your help with something, Selina.’

’Yes?’

Mater’s Chaos Circuit caused him to only produce Chaos Gemstones if he used Empath Crystallization. He needed Selina’s Psycho Force to create Emotional Gemstones.

He quickly explained the situation to Selina.

’You need my help to produce Emotional Gemstones? I can do that. I don’t have any classes in the morning.’ Selina replied in her head.

’Perfect. Find somewhere secluded. I will tell you once I need you.’

Selina looked around in her dorm. Erin had already gone to class. There wasn’t anywhere that secretive in the Institute. The dormitory was the best place for her.

She fixed herself a quick breakfast then sat down on the bed, waiting for the black cat.

Back in the Confederation, Mater and Crow approached a Void Gate.

The Void Gate was a giant vortex. It spun constantly and created a white sphere in the area.

"What should we do with it, Master?" Crow said.

"You still have the device?"

"Right here, Master!" Crow took out the rectangular device.

The leopard nodded. "Let’s go inside."

Mater and Crow entered the Void Gate.

The interior of the Void Gate was much larger than the outside. It almost looked like a church.

A gray church with a floor made out of cut stones and the ceiling of a never-ending abyss. In the middle of the church was a black hole.

"That is... a portal." Mater squinted his eyes. "You can activate the device, Crow."

Crow placed the device down and clicked a button on it. Immediately, the entire place trembled.

The Abomination smacked his hands together and summoned two Nether Curved Swords.

"Let’s try something different." The leopard raised its paw.

Mater used Crow’s spell, Arachnophillia, to summon the Shadow Spider.

Crow also used Arachnophillia and summoned his own Shadow Spider. Two identical spiders now existed at the same time.

Mater’s spider was slightly different. It was larger with red veins running on its dark skin.

Crow’s spider had purple veins and had a much more concentrated Nether.

"It is yours to command, Crow." Mater relinquished control of the spider to the Abomination.

Crow nodded his head.

Void Wraiths flooded out from within the black hole. There were at least thirty of them.

But all of them were weak Rank-1 wraiths and couldn’t pose any actual threats to Crow. The Abomination along with the two Shadow Spiders wrecked the battlefield.

The leopard floated in the air. Its lazy eyes observed the battle from above.

Mater was only there to watch Crow’s back. He had no intentions of dealing with these lowly creatures.

The leopard yawned in the middle of the battle. A Void Wraith jumped up and shot a red beam toward him.

A Layered Force Dome appeared and blocked the beam easily.

"Go back down, you filthy creature." The leopard opened its mouth and blasted a purple beam at the Void Wraith.

Crow lifted his head up. His body turned into a blur and sliced through the falling Void Wraith, cutting it in two.

The rectangular device continued doing its job and slowly sealing the inter-dimensional pathway.

Half of the Void Wraiths were killed. The leopard opened its mouth to pull in all of their Chaos. An additional 115 Chaos Spheres now appeared in its body.

Mater now had total of 675 Chaos Spheres.

Suddenly, the entire place erupted. A large white arm reached out from within the black hole.

Mater got up immediately. He could feel the power of that Void Wraith.

"Master..." Crow frowned.

"I know, Crow. That’s a Rank-2 wraith. Just deal with the minions. I’ll handle the boss."
