CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 266: Hellfire’s Sealed Pit

The Rank-2 Void Wraith was more defined than the Rank-1. It had a humanoid body but no face, only a large red eye in the middle of its head. It was a seamless porcelain doll with knives for hands and feet.

The panther landed in front of it.

The red eye snapped toward Mater immediately and shot out a red beam.

A double Layered Forced Dome appeared in front of Mater and blocked the Force Dome. The beam couldn’t penetrate the barrier but was able to put a crack on it.

"You’re one tough son of a bitch, eh?"

Mater answered by his own beam. The panther lifted its head high. Purple energy shined brightly in its mouth.

"Nether Beam!" Mater snapped his head toward the Void Wraith.

The Nether Beam slammed on its body and pushed its backwards. Cracks appeared on the Void Wraith’s body.

It jumped away from the beam and bolted at Mater. It was incredibly fast and turned into a white blur in the air.

The Wraith jumped up and drove its right hand down at Mater.

The panther smirked, "Heh."

The wraith was stopped in the middle of the air. A Triple Layered Force Dome stopped its attack.

Mater answered with another Nether Beam. But the wraith already got out of there before his beam could reach it. It knew that attack was very powerful. It did not have any intention of facing it again.

The Void Wraith circled Mater and shot another red beam at him. Another crack on the Double Layered Force Dome but the beam did not go through.

"You need to stop right there." Mater squinted his eyes.

Black chains reached out from darkness around the Void Wraith and restrained it.

Mater immediately blasted it with the Nether Beam. The purple beam put more cracks on its white porcelain body. But the Void Wraith was resistant to Rank-1 Spell. It got out of the chains quickly and avoided the Nether Beam.

’Hmm. Chains of Shadow is a good controlling spell but its rank is too low. I need a good Rank-2 controlling spell.’

The Void Wraith turned into a blur again and ran around in circles.

Mater focused his vision on it.

’I wonder...’

The Octagrams in his eyes shined brighter. Mater tried to penetrate into the wraith’s Chaos Singularity.

The Octagram Chaos Eyes had the ability to penetrate a Psycho Force. But Psycho Force was only a Psychic’s Chaos Singularity. He didn’t know if it would be effective with the Void Wraith’s Singularity. So he tested it.

In Mater’s perspective, his vision shot at the Void Wraith almost instantaneously and he saw the Chaos Singularity inside it.

It wasn’t a Psycho Force. It wasn’t a Chaos Circuit like a Warpock either. It was a black sphere. A sphere that constantly pulled in the energy of the outside world.

"Hmmm? This is different from the Singularity of a normal wraith. Let me try breaking it..."

Mater put more Chaos into his Octagrams and forced his way through the black sphere. The sphere cracked immediately.

The Void Wraith stopped in its motion and convulsed like its program was glitching.

Mater stopped immediately. He didn’t want to destroy its Singularity.

The wraith fell on the ground. Mater used that chance to turn into a Spike Ball and shot at it. He also used Crow’s Abyssal Dash to gain even more speed.

The black ball of spike slammed on the wraith. Mater reached his claws out. They were already crystallized.

The panther slammed its claw at the porcelain doll. But he wasn’t able to penetrate it.

"What?"

The Void Wraith focused at Mater and released a red beam. Mater was able to block it in time with a Triple Layered Force Dome but he was sent flying away.

The panther rolled in the air and stopped. It floated in the darkness of night.

"I underestimated you."

The Glacial Death Plates appeared and wrapped around Mater. He turned back into a ball and shot at the Void Wraith. This time, he also used the Nether Fighter spell of Crow to summon several Nether Spikes on his body.

The Void Wraith turned into a blur to dodge the attack. Black chains reached out from darkness and held it.

"You’re not going anywhere!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Mater slammed on the porcelain doll and dug out a hole on it.

"Can’t run now!"

The panther slammed its crystallized claw into the Void Wraith again. Mater pulled out all of its Chaos and converted it into a Chaos Gemstone. This Gemstone was different. It had a black star within it.

"This is... A Rank-2 Chaos Gemstone." The panther examined the Gemstone. Empath Crystallization had also absorbed the Chaos Singularity and fused it with the Gemstone. "Interesting... So a Rank-2 spell needs a Rank-2 Gemstone."

Mater tossed the Gemstone in his mouth and stored it in his body. He didn’t need to fuse any Rank-2 spell yet. He needed Chaos Singularity more. But at least he could still save it for later.

"Let’s go find a Rank-1 wraith, Crow."

"Yes, Master!"

They were able to catch a Rank-1 Wraith in no time.

Mater found a secluded area to enact his spell fusion again.

"Let’s see if Hellfire’s Pit and Hellfire Chain can be fused."

Inside the dark red space, the ten Chaos Gemstones flew in a circle. They formed ten links between Hellfire’s Pit and Hellfire Chain. The two spells became one.

[Effect]: Summon a 10-meter radius circle of Hellfire anywhere within 60 meters without the need of a surface. Hellfire chains shall reach out from the circle to pull in any enemy within 10-meters. Once trapped, three waves of Hellfire shall shoot out from the circle.

[Cooldown]: 12 seconds

"Aw shi-i-i-i-i-i-t." The panther grinned widely when it saw the new spell on the page. "Controlling and attacking at the same time. The Gemstones made two useless spells into one powerful spell."

Mater looked back at his spell list.

’Hmmm. I have a lot of blank slots for spells, servants, and demonic items. I should fill them up quickly.’

"What should we do now, Master?" Crow said.

The panther looked over to the rising sun at the horizon. "Let’s continue cleaning up these wraiths, Crow. But put on our masks to avoid the people at the base seeing us."

Crow nodded. He and Mater put the Mimicry Masks back on.
