CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 221: Upgraded HAS
"Release her, Leslie." The black cat’s deep voice echoed
Leslie opened up the glass cage, letting the white girl climb out.
She knelt on the floor.
"Please accept my loyalty, Master."
Mater nodded, "As a tradition, I shall name you. From this day on, that will be your only name. You shall live by it and die by it."
"Yes, Master."
The black cat stroked his whiskers and scanned the white girl. He was trying to think of a name suitable for her.
Mater named Aurora after Aurora Borealis.
Mater named Crow because Crow eats spiders.
As for this rat, Mater saw in its heart that it yearned for dignity and respect. Something that a lab rat would never have. The black cat was going to name the rat ’White’. But that name was too simple and lacked the dignity that it wanted.
"You will be called Blanche." The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
"Blanche will be your eternal servant from now on, oh great dark lord!" Blanche raised her hand asking for the cat’s paw.
Mater touched her hand as a sign of accepting her.
The black cat giggled, "That mouth of yours is very sweet, Blanche. You already know what I want."
"I am glad that you like it, Master."
Selina pulled out a pair of clothes for Blanche.
"You’re a little small. I normally prepare clothes around a bigger size. It is going to be a little bit loose." Selina said.
"I am content, my queen." Blanche put the clothes on.
The pants and sweater were too long for her. She rolled up the pants while keeping the sleeves loose, covering both her hands.
"She looks kind of like a Jiangshi." Selina chuckled gently.
"Other than transformation, what can you do, Blanche?" The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
"I have a Psycho Force, Master. In theory, I can learn all the Psycho and Psionic Skills that a Psychic could use." Blanche said.
"A Psychic, huh... I wonder if we can create a fake identity for her and let her join the Institute as well." The black cat stroked its whiskers.
"That sounds plausible but where can we find an identity for her? It’s not like we have a background to put her in." Selina said.
"We have the best one right here." Mater patted Selina’s shoulder, "She is your long lost sister. Your parents disappeared already. And no one is going to question your family."
"Eh..."
Once the matter was decided, Mater went back to check the result of Leslie.
"You were saying..."
"Yes, Master. As you can see, the GOD compound can help ordinary people to become Psychics, giving the fact that they can survive the process. As for Rank advancement... In theory, the compound could open up the genetic pathway for a Psychic and make the process easier for them.
However, I suspect that the process would have drawbacks as well. We don’t know how serious they can’t be. Unless..."
"Unless we have a specimen to observe, correct?" The black cat said.
"That’s right, Master." Leslie nodded.
"Very good. I will find a specimen for you. And what about the HAS pill? What upgrades have you made to it?"
Leslie took a case of pills out and placed it on the table.
"Originally. The HAS pill would find its way into the bloodstream of the user. Then it would fuse the NES to the blood, granting the user physical strength and durability. However, as you may already know, the process is extremely harmful to the body. Even for a Psychic." Leslie explained.
The cat listened in silence.
"However, I have figured out a way to minimize this weakness. By using a different formula, the HAS can now provide physical boosts with much less drawback. Instead of permanent damage to the body, the pill will now only make your muscle sore.
If you take too much in a short amount of time, the side effects can stack and become just as damaging."
The black cat picked up a pill and tossed it into his mouth. His blood was fused with Chaos. He was the best candidate to test this drug.
As soon as the drug was inside his mouth, it melted like a snowflake. Chaos inside his blood began to boil. They seeped into his body and temporarily made it stronger.
Mater was masterful in controlling his Chaos so he could easily shut down this process and return his body to the usual state.
"The pill is good. The reason why you’re still having drawbacks is because the pill is forcing the body to accept the NES. The pill shouldn’t be a reagent. It should be a catalyst." The black cat meowed.
Leslie widened his eyes and froze in place. He quickly typed down what Mater was saying and many more ideas.
"I see. So that’s why... I have an idea, Master. Maybe I can create a version of this pill that will have no drawbacks at all.
No. That’s actually false. There will be no physical drawbacks but there will be one for the Psycho Force. It will drain more NES than before but the user will have complete control over the process."
"Very smart, Leslie. That’s the solution."
"I will prepare this version as soon as possible, Master."
"No need to rush. Let’s move your laboratory to the Underpark first. I will summon the servants over to help you.
Crow and Sparrow should be sufficient to help you move."
"Thank you, Master."
Leslie did not disappoint Mater. The man really had a talent for chemistry. Sparrow was inside the Dark Grimoire so Mater called him out to assist Leslie.
Crow was disguised as Assassin in the Atlas Seven. He quickly came over to help Leslie move the laboratory.
The next day. Inside the Underpark.
Crow was giving a fighting lesson to Selina while Sparrow was playing his lute to the side.
With Sparrow’s power, a training field was easily made inside the Underpark.
Crow taught Selina hand-to-hand combat first as it was the easiest to learn.
"Your stance is very important. A high stance can benefit your mobility and strikes but it would be very vulnerable against takedowns. A low stance is more solid but you sacrifice your mobility."
Crow was throwing some shots for Selina to dodge while explaining a few core principles about fighting.
"Which one should I use then?"
"You use the one that is most suitable for the situation."
