CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 170: Lalo
Selina didn’t use Chaos Flesh so her punch wasn’t that hard. But it was enough to make Mick’s nose bleed.
Mick stumbled a few steps backwards. He swiped his nose. His eyes widened when he saw the blood on his hand.
"You?! You arrogant little bitch!"
Mick strided forward and threw a wide haymaker at Selina.
Now she used Chaos Flesh. She didn’t use it that much to avoid exposing her identity. Just enough to make herself faster and stronger without exposing her Chaos.
Selina easily dodged the wide hook. She then grabbed Mick and threw him to the sidewalk.
Jesse climbed down his pick-up truck and rushed to the scene.
Mick’s other friends also climbed out of the convertible and rushed over.
Selina pushed Mick to the floor and punched him without mercy.
Mater already jumped out of Selina’s shirt and watched everything from the side.
"He is related to Crow’s death." The black cat meowed.
Selina clenched her hands. She hit even harder and punched a tooth out of Mick’s mouth.
"Please! Please! I’m sorry!"
Mick covered his face and whimpered.
"Are you a student of Willow Wood High School?"
Selina said.
Mick widened his eyes. He looked at Selina via the gap between his arms.
"Yes..." Mick’s voice trembled.
"Did you take part in the death of that student?" Selina said.
As soon as she said that, Mick’s entire body shook like a washing machine.
"I didn’t. I didn’t do it... I tried to stop him..."
Mick’s friend rushed at Selina from behind.
Jesse shoved that guy out of the way, protecting Selina. His girlfriend threw a metal pipe to Jesse.
"Take it, Jesse!"
"Thanks, Jen!"
Jesse caught the pipe and then swung it in front of himself, scaring the others away.
"Get back!" He shouted.
Selina stood up and looked down at Mick.
"What is the name of the murderer?" Selina said.
"I... I can’t... They’ll kill me." Mick trembled like a chicken.
Selina took her revolver out and cock it. She aimed the gun at Mick’s face.
The crisp noise of a cocking gun froze everyone. All Mick’s friends watched in fear. Jesse snapped his head over.
Mick’s face lost all of its color.
"What is the name of the murderer?" Selina said again.
Mick’s lips shook uncontrollably. He couldn’t even form words any more.
Jesse threw himself at Selina and snatched the gun out of her hand.
"Oh? He’s brave!" Mater stroked his whiskers.
"Please don’t do anything rash!" Jesse said. He raised his two hands high. "You’re a friend of Baek-un right? I know what happened. Exactly what happened. Just calm down and I’ll tell you everything."
"I know his voice also..." Crow communicated with Mater. "He’s a friend."
"Let’s go before things turn ugly, Selina. That boy knew Crow in his past life." The black cat meowed.
Selina nodded. Her nod was also toward Jesse.
"Give me the gun back. Let’s go somewhere to talk."
"You swear you won’t do anything?" Jesse said.
"On the life of my cat." Selina said.
"Hey!" Mater growled.
Jesse gave the revolver back to Selina.
The goth girl glanced at Mitch, who was now a mess of tears.
"I didn’t do it. I didn’t do it! I didn’t..." The young man crawled to a corner and trembled. His friends looked down upon him and none helped.
Selima climbed back onto her motorcycle, "Follow me."
Jesse and Jennifer looked at each other. They decided to follow Selina.
The pick-up truck followed Selina closely.
The goth girl picked a coffee shop near Justin’s office. It was more convenient as she could visit him later.
She parked her motorcycle and took out her helmet. Jesse and Jennifer saw the face beneath the helmet for the first time.
"Damn! She’s pretty!" Jesse said.
"She looked like a movie star or something." Jennifer said.
"Let’s go inside. I’ll pay." Selina smiled.
Her soft expression made the two young kids forget about her violent behavior from before.
They found a table near the window and sat down. There weren’t that many customers early in the morning.
Selina ordered a black coffee as always. Jennifer had a smoothie while Jesse had a Free Koke.
Free Koke was just a normal soda without sugar.
"So... Who are you guys?" Selina leaned back and said. "How old are you? You looked like high school students to me. Are you even old enough to drive?"
"Heh heh. I actually turned 18 a few months ago and I just got this."
Jesse took out his driver license. "Don’t worry. I’m old enough to drive. But I’m not a High School student anymore. We’ll be university students soon."
"Oh? I see." Selina nodded. She took a sip of the coffee before continuing, "You know Lee Baek-un?"
Lee Baek-un. The name of the student that was killed in Willow Wood High School. It was Crow’s former identity."
Jesse’s face changed immediately when Selina mentioned Crow’s name. His face twisted a little and his fists clenched.
Jennifer grabbed his arms gently, providing some comfort.
"It’s alright, baby. I’m alright." Jesse said.
Then he turned to Selina, "Who are you to him?"
"I know him. And I am interested in his death."
Selina took out her Ankh Badge and showed it to the two young kids, "I am a Private Investigator and a Bounty Hunter."
"Bounty Hunter? That profession still exists?" Jennifer blurted out.
Selina nodded, "Very."
"You’re so cool." Jennifer said.
"Well. I’m waiting." Selina turned back to Jesse.
"My name is Jesse O’Shea. This is Jennifer Allen, my girlfriend. We were both classmates of Baek-un."
"Who killed him?" Selina said.
"Yes. That is what I’m interested in..." The black cat meowed.
Killing Levy allowed Aurora to break one of her locks. She was then ready to reach Rank-2. Crow could use the same method to reach Rank-2.
The couple looked over to the black cat. They swore it was trying to talk. Its meow had a certain rhythm that felt very intelligent.
Jesse turned back to Selina, "It’s another student. Same class as me and Baek-un back then. He is Lorenzo ’Lalo’ Von Schattenberg."
Inside Matter’s Demonic Arsenal, the Dark Grimoire trembled, darkness leaked out of the page.
"Calm down, Crow. Soon. I will make him pay." The black cat rubbed its belly.
