CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 137: Slave Seal
The group left the Slum Slopes and found a secluded alleyway a few blocks away from the building.
Crow flew down from above and dropped Leslie on the ground.
"Ouch! Hey! Can’t you be gentler!" Leslie scoffed. He shut his mouth quickly when Crow returned to his human form and stared at him with his white eyes.
Selina kicked the kickstand of the motorcycle and parked it.
Mater jumped out of the girl’s shirt and approached Leslie. The black cat tilted its head left and right, trying to decide what it was going to do with this cowardice criminal.
’This man is useful. He knows how to make all sorts of things. But the only thing I’m interested in is the red pills. Those were Psycho Pills for sure and were able to strengthen the normal humans of this world for a while. I wonder if he could do the same with Death Ice, Hellfire, and Nether. Maybe even with Chaos Magic?"
Pulling out the power of a Chaos Singularity was no small task. Especially with an ordinary human with no supernatural power like Leslie. But if Mater was to give Leslie the knowledge required for this, Leslie would become a potential weak point.
Mater couldn’t be sure this sly criminal wouldn’t betray him.
The Submission Seals were mostly used to create powerful servants. They drew power from the hell of fire, darkness, and ice to create very formidable servants. But Mater could also create an empty Seal. A Seal that didn’t channel its power from anything.
Warlocks called it Slave Seal, which had no other function than to ensure loyalty amongst their servants.
Rank 1 Warlock didn’t use this Seal as much as their Servant slots were very limited before Rank 2. Rank 1 Warlock could only have five at level 10.
Mater already had Aurora, Crow, Bash, and the Abyssal Helmet. He only had one slot left.
The tree wraith that Mater kept in his Dark Grimoire had very unique abilities. It was perfect for a type of servant that Rank 2 Warlock could access. Mater didn’t need to convert it right now so he should have no problem enslaving Leslie.
"Welp. I hope you can bring me great surprises in the future, Leslie." The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
It raised its paw and extended its claw. Chaos rushed out from within Mater’s blood and formed a red simplistic Seal.
The Infernal Seal had a symbol of fire with three spikes.
The Abyssal Seal had a symbol of a dagger with a smoke handle.
The Glacial Seal had a symbol of a cyclone with clock hands.
A neutral Slave Seal had no predetermined symbol. The Warlock could make it into anything he wanted.
Mater chose the crescent moon to be his symbol in this life. He was a black cat. A creature of the night and darkness. It was better to pick something that resonated directly with him.
The Moon Seal hovered above his paw. It split into two, one fell into Mater’s fur and the other flew to Leslie.
"What is that?! I’m not touching that!"
Leslie intended to run away but Crow pushed him back down.
"Stay still!" Crow said.
The crescent moon went through Leslie’s shirt and embedded itself onto his chest. His body froze and his eyes were flooded with the color of red.
With no power from another dimension, the creation of the seal and enslaving didn’t provoke any phenomenon from the world.
Soon, Leslie had succumbed to the seal. He looked back at Mater with deep respect and bowed.
"Leslie is here for you, Master." He said.
Mater nodded.
"Can you create those HAS pills again?" The black cat meowed.
"Certainly, Master. But I need a lab and materials to do so. All of those were provided by Marcus."
"Tch. That is a problem. We could rent one." The black cat stroked its whiskers in deep thought.
"Yeah. That won’t be a problem. We have 2 million credits from Levy. And those mobile credits we just robbed from the gang should be at least a million or more. Plenty enough to set up a lab." Selina said.
Mater nodded along. Then the cat looked at Selina. It looked away. Then it looked back at her.
"I didn’t use human tongue." The black cat meowed.
"Oh?!" Selina just realized it as well. "How can I understand you?"
"Heh. Probably because of the Abyssal Helmet." The black cat smirked. Now he didn’t need to waste Chaos to talk to Selina anymore.
The link between him and her grew stronger every day.
"Can you find a new lab, Leslie?" The black cat meowed.
"Potentially, Master. But it’d take me a while to connect with my old pals." Leslie said.
"I’m not in a rush. But can you lay low? In the end, the ACPD should mark you as a wanted criminal. You are connected to those Haland Boys."
"No worries, Master. My name is not on any record of the Haland Boys. I AM their bookkeeper, remember?"
"Smart boy. Run along now. I’ll call you when I need you."
"Yes, Master!"
Leslie stood up and bowed respectfully before leaving. He looked much less despicable after the Seal.
"Huh. You did teach him some manners." Selina said. "We should go home too."
Before going back to the Institute, Mater instructed Selina to drive them to the cold storage and the cemetery first.
Bas hadn’t been used the entire time so he didn’t need to recover.
Crow used up the five Chaos Spheres to replenish his Chaos. His Chaos Well recovered to around 50%. Mater dropped him into the Abyssal Shrine to recover him to maximum.
They entered the crypt again. Crow turned back from a bird to his usual humanoid Abomination form.
"Can a Shrine be used for two Abominations, Master?" Crow said.
"Usually no. I can make it to have enough room for two. However, I don’t intend to do that." Mater stroked his whiskers with a smug.
"Why is that, Mr. Mater?" Selina said.
"The Abyssal Helmet is a unique existence. It is both a specter and a Demonic Item. It can draw Chaos directly from my Demonic Arsenal. A Shrine is not needed."
Mater then opened his mouth. 30 Chaos Spheres flew out of him and went inside the Abyssal Shrine.
The dark tree lit up with 30 illuminating red gemstones.
"These should be enough for you to reach level 10. It may take a few days to finish the process. Consume it well, Crow. If you find Aaron’s Cage remaining spiritual energy, do not hesitate to absorb it also.
I have high hopes for you, Crow."
Crow put a hand on his chest and bowed deeply. "I will not disappoint you, Master."
Crow stepped back into the dark tree as it enveloped him entirely.
