CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 166: Killing Her
"What are you doing?" Duke Salvador asked as he looked at Princess Cassandra.
It was as if the fifth Princess did not care what she was going to do anymore. All of her attention was focused on the aura.
"This is what I should be doing." Princess Cassandra said with a smile on her face. "This is my work and I will try to do it with full dedication.
"This is not your work alone." Duke Salvador tried to tell the fifth Princess. He tried to catch Princess Cassandra’s hands, but before his finger could take hold, Princess Cassandra moved her hands away.
"Yes, it is." Princess Cassandra said as she looked at Duke Salvador with glittering eyes. It was then that Duke Salvador understood Princess Cassandra was not in a position to listen to anyone else.
The fifth Princess had made up her mind. But Aiden wanted to save the fifth Princess. He wanted to save the one he loves. By looking at Princess Cassandra it was clear that she was about to do something dangerous. Something that could even kill her and Aiden didn’t want Cassandra to die.
"Aren’t we in this together?" Aiden’s voice was soft as if trying to convince a child to not be stubborn.
"Yes, we are in this together." Princess Cassandra’s voice choked as she tried to control her tears from forming in her eyes. Princess Cassandra smiled at the Duke before turning around to look at the witch.
The aura was getting stronger and Cassandra knew that she had less time. She did not waste another second her body moved up as she formed a protective layer around the people she wanted to protect. Her eyes were focused on the witch now. Her goal was set.
Seeing Princess Cassandra fly, Duke Salvador panicked. He tried to move his body up, trying to hold the fifth Princess’s hand, and yet he could not.
A protective layer engulfed thyme as if Princess Cassandra had arrested them. Aiden was not very happy with the result; his eyes were glittering with rage as his hands started to form a ring of fire as it attacked the layer. But nothing happened.
Duke Salvador touched a particular point as a beam of fire was pushed down towards it. He could see that the layer was unaffected but he thought that if more power was applied it would break.
Aiden looked back at everyone and soon they all understood what the Duke was getting at. Everyone else came forward and they attacked in one place simultaneously.
Amy used her earth element while Lord Bentham used his darkness. Blazh put a water beam on it while Prince Cedric, even though he was on the ground, put the wind element towards a particular point. All the five elements formed a powerful force and soon the area was cracking.
The protective layer that Princess Cassandra had formed was about to collapse. They just needed to push a little further.
Princess Cassandra looked at the witch. Princess Elvira’s eyes were glowing with irritation. She knew what had to be done as she looked at Princess Cassandra’s eyes filled with determination.
Princess Cassandra was ready to fight. Cassandra observed the aura. She realized that it would take a human form, like a human fight machine to fight against them.
Princess Cassandra moved her hands as a beam of water tried to engulf it, the water formed a protective layer against the aura. The aura was too powerful. It moved around trying to create spaces to escape.
Princess Cassandra did not know how she could manage the situation anymore. She asked the elements for their help.
[Can the darkness engulf the aura?]
It was never about who was powerful enough, it was always about the fact that they all needed each other to survive. The darkness now understood it. Over the years, when darkness had no elements or crystals to give a stabilizing form to, it was alone in everyone’s mind. It had nothing to be associated with and that was traumatizing.
[Can you do it?] Princess Cassandra said as she moved towards the aura. Cassandra tried to touch it but it scattered. Cassandra’s eyes widened in horror. How could this be? She could not tell what was happening. It looked like a human form but it had no flesh.
Princess Cassandra’s heart was terrified. [Let’s do this.] The darkness said.
Princess Cassandra moved her leg back as she concentrated her entry towards her hands. She placed her both palms above one another as she pushed forward and soon the darkness moved out of her body.
The darkness formed a cloud as it engulfed the aura. But the aura tried to move from the little spaces that were created. It dispersed as if it was air moving through the small hole.
Princess Cassandra was getting nervous. The darkness is doing its best but Cassandra knew that she needed something else.
Princess Elvira laughed sarcastically as she saw the little lady trying her best. "Do you really think you can do this? I’m not a person to be defeated by you again and again."
Princess Cassandra did not know what the which was getting at, but then she realized that Princess Elvira was talking to the elements and not her.
Princess Cassandra did not have time for it. Everything was moving fast. She needed to think of a way soon and when Cassandra closed her eyes, she saw the crystals?
[Wait, crystals.] Princess Cassandra said as if she had found a way.
Princess Cassandra knew that she could not absorb the aura but she could create something. Something that looked like a crystal. Princess Cassandra’s heart started beating fast as she understood.
She opened her eyes as she called a huge water wave that circulated the darkness. The water formed a layer around the darkness that had trapped the aura in it.
Princess Cassandra moved her hand as a cold wave of wind blew. As the temperature decreased, the water started forming ice. The hard layer of ice did not allow anything to move out of it.
Princess Elvira’s eyes shook. She did not understand what was happening. How could her power not work? How can the aura not work? She was getting irritated. Princess Elvira was filled with rage as she asked. "What did you do?"
There was a smile on Princess Cassandra’s face. She realized that this was not something that Princess Elvira had seen coming. But Cassandra could see that the witch did not know she could do this. Maybe because Princess Maxima was not able to use the ice.
[This is not a permanent solution. The ice will melt eventually.] The fire element reminded Cassandra.
Princess Cassandra looked at the aura. She knew that the aura could cultivate itself. [The only way I could save us all is by killing her.]
Princess Cassandra’s gaze locked up at the witch. Princess Elvira understood the situation as she smiled. The witch decided to go for the kill.
The Princess moved towards the witch who was levitating in the air. Their gaze collided as they both looked at each other. Things were getting tense. Princess Elvira did not want things to go around like last time. Her wish was to deal with his little Princess soon.
Before anything else, Princess Elvira moved towards the Princess as her hands wrapped around Princess Cassandra’s neck.
If her aura were unable to attack the Princess, then the witch decided to do it by herself. It was a much simpler and more effective way.
Princess Cassandra struggled as her legs dangled in the air. They both were in the air, Princess Cassandra touched the witch’s hand as she tried to remove it, but as she tried to do it, Elvira’s hands around her neck tightened.
Princess Cassandra felt powerless; it was to an extent that she could not even use her powers. Her eyes shivered as she looked at the witch whose lips were curled up in an evil smile.
Cassandra struggled but with every struggle, the hold on her neck tightened. Soon her breathing hitched and as Cassandra was about to lose her consciousness something pushed her body away.
Soon Princess Cassandra’s eyes closed as her feet and her powerless body went down towards the ground.
The witch looked at the one who dared to attack her and saw that it was the man that looked like the Emperor. Her rage was increasing as Elvira’s eyes glowed with annoyance.
But Princess Cassandra who was in the air started falling down. She was seconds away before losing her conscience but right now her body was powerless. As she moved down, Lord Bentham formed a protective layer of water with the help of Blaze. Prince Cedric had tried to stabilize her with the help of the wind element as they slowly and carefully brought the Princes on the ground.
Amy ran towards Cassandra as she regained her consciousness. But Amy did come near her but rather ran sideways. Princess Cassandra did not understand what was happening and as she turned around, Cassandra’s eyes widened in shock.
