CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 142: Follow Me
Princess Valeria smiled as she walked towards Duke Salvador.
Valeria’s eyes were fixed on the man. All she wanted to do was walk near him and have a talk but Princess Valeria was afraid. She was afraid of being ignored by Duke Salvador as always.
’Should I have a talk with Blazh?’ Princess Valeria wondered. Although she did not know the reason why Blazh was here, he still was the closest to the Duke.
"Blazh." Princess Valeria said as he called for the man who was walking in the opposite direction.
Blazh stopped in his steps as he bowed, seeing the first Princess standing there. He could sense that the first Princess was there for a mission. She needed something from him. Blazh could only sigh as he waited for Princess Valeria to continue.
"I need to have a talk with you." Princess Valeria said as she looked at Duke Salvador who was looking at their way. "Follow me."
Blazh, who had no idea how to refuse, nodded his head as he walked behind the first Princess. He did not forget to look at the man who was acting like Duke Salvador, telling him quietly to take care and not say anything unusual.
"Blazh." Princess Valeria turned around as she looked at Blazh with narrowed eyes. "Will you answer the questions of this Princess?"
Blazh nodded as he wished that the questions the first Princess is desperate to ask will get over soon. Blazh was worried about leaving the fake Duke and Prince Cedric alone.
"So tell me, does Duke Salvador love power the most?" Princess Valeria’s eyes narrowed as she took a step towards Blazh. "He loves to win right? What will he feel to be the most powerful in the Empire? He will love that, right?"
Blazh did not understand the meaning behind the first Princess’s words. All he could understand was that Princess Valeria was desperate to listen to one answer alone and if he did not give that, his life might be in danger.
"Yes, the Duke likes to win. And power is the only thing that helps a person to win." Blazh said in a soft tone as he observed the slight changes in Princess Valeria’s face.
"Does the Duke like someone? Does he want to marry anyone?" Princess Valeria asked as she smiled.
"No. I have not seen anyone near the Duke." Blazh knew that it was not true but he still replied. Although he did not know the details, Blazh was not blind. If Aiden Salvador could leave his position as the Duke to accompany Princess Cassandra to an enemy Kingdom, it might be love, right?
Blazh was the one who had seen how Duke Salvador would disguise himself as Ed just to stay with the fifth Princess. He was not innocent and naive to misunderstand the situation. ’But I cannot tell this to Princess Valeria. I need to hide the secret from everyone. At Least till the time, Duke Salvador realizes his own feelings.’
Blazh saw the smile on Princess Valeria’s face as she looked away from her towards the fake Duke Salvador. "That is good. You may go Blazh."
Blazh could not help but sigh. He could only sympathize with the man who was posing like Duke Salvador. ’Princess Valeria has her eyes on you. God help us all.’

Princess Valeria walked towards the Duke as she stood a step back watching Duke Salvador drink tea served by the servant.
"The climate is beautiful today." Princess Valeria said as she sat beside fake Duke Salvador with a smile. "How long will we be here? Shouldn’t we be on our way?"
"If you are in a hurry, we can leave right away sister." Prince Cedric laughed as he looked at Princess Valeria who sat beside them without permission. "We cannot let our heir to the throne wait."
Princess Valeria’s eyes narrowed as she looked at Prince Cedric. "I was talking to Duke Salvador, not you."
"Why would you talk with someone who does not want to have to do anything with you?" Prince Cedric’s lips curled up. "You never learn from your mistakes, Valeria."
Princess Valeria’s eyes turned sharp. "It is between Duke Salvador and me. I would appreciate it if you do not get in between us." Princess Valeria shifted her focus towards Duke Salvador again as she smiled and asked. "I heard Duke Salvador is not seeing anyone at all."
The man who was posing like the Duke was silent. He simply looked at the first Princess without showing any expression. He had known Aiden Salvador for a long time and knew that the real Duke would not like to answer the question.
Princess Valeria did not find anything unusual as she continued smiling. "As the Duke might have known, I have always looked up to you. Your power and strategies to win the war are well known. I would like to spend some time with you. I want to get to know you so that I might be able to learn something. After all, I want to be a good ruler. An Emperor who people would look up to."
Prince Cedric laughed but did not cut through the first Princess’s words. He knew what Princess Valeria was trying to do.
’She wants to get close to Duke Salvador.’
’My poor sister. She never learns from her mistakes. If a man does not love you then no matter what you try to do he will never be attracted to you.’
Prince Cedric could only sigh as he watched the desperate attempt of Princess Valeria to win over Duke Salvador.
—--
Amy started telling Princess Cassandra what she had heard.
"So we will go to kir mountain and not only Princess Valeria but Prince Cedric and Duke Salvador will be there," Aiden said as he raised his eyebrows. "I told them to stay away from trouble and yet they walked right into it. What is Blazh doing? Couldn’t he handle one work?"
Princess Cassandra smiled helplessly. "What can Blazh do if the royals had given an order."
Aiden shook his head as he asked Amy. "Is Princess Teimei and Prince Carl fighting?"
Amy shrugged her shoulders as she said. "I don’t know but Princess Teimei is angry because the information provided by the Prince was false."
"They might be fighting because she could not see me absorbing the wind element." Princess Cassandra murmured. "Princess Teimei thinks there was no pure source in the forest."
"But if that was the case they will try to bring you to places they think the pure source might be." Duke Salvador said in a soft tone. "They want you to absorb the other elements too."
"Princess." Amy turned her tone low. "What if we fool them that you cannot absorb the elements anymore."
Both Duke Salvador and Princess Cassandra looked at Amy with a questionable gaze.
"Princess Teimei thinks that you have absorbed the water element but what if the element starts to act up. What if the water element is uncontrollable and because of it you cannot absorb any other element. Won’t that irritate the Vivere Kingdom’s people?"
"Amy, you are a genius." Princess Cassandra giggled as she hugged Amy with all her power. "If they think that something is wrong with me then they might not take me to places."
"But there is still one problem." Duke Salvador said as he touched his chin lightly. "You need to absorb all the elements before Elvira can wake up. They will try and force you to absorb the element before taking you to Kir Mountain."
Princess Cassandra and Amy looked at one another as they nodded. There was silence in the room as they all started to think of a solution for the problem.
"I think I know how to solve this." Princess Cassandra said as her eyes brightened. "I think Lord Bentham can help us with this."
Duke Salvador looked at Princess Cassandra with a sharp gaze. He was not liking the direction the topic was going. "Lord Bentham?"
Princess Cassandra could feel the harshness in Duke Salvador’s voice but she shook the worry away as she continued saying. "Lord Bentham knows about my mother. In the eyes of others, he is still my fiance. I can talk with him whenever I want. I am sure he might be able to help us with this."
"Do you still think he is on our side?" Duke Salvador asked as he raised his eyebrows. "The man only knows how to lie, can he really help us?"
Princess Cassandra took a deep breath. "Maybe he cannot but maybe he can. We will never know if we do not try." Princess Cassandra moved towards the Duke as she touched his hand softly. "I have to try." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Duke Salvador looked at Princess Cassandra. He could see the dispersion in her eyes. "Does he really know about your mother?"
Princess Cassandra nodded. "He taught me how to communicate through thoughts. I think he can help."
Duke Salvador stared into Princess Cassandra’s gaze for a few seconds before he sighed. "Okay. I will ask a guard to call for him. But I will be there during all of your talks. You are not allowed to talk with him in your mind." Duke Salvador touched Cassandra’s head as he said.
"Of course, I will listen to your words." Princess Cassandra laughed.
