Chapter 141: Win Wars

Princess Cassandra sat beside Duke Salvador as she closed her eyes.

Cassandra tried to concentrate as the wind element guided her.

[Follow the flow and let your heart guide it.] The wind element said as Princess Cassandra moved her hand and along with it moved the wind. A smile formed on Princess Cassandra’s face. She was happy that she could use the wind as she wanted now.

"Why don’t you try using the combination of the elements?" Duke Salvador asked as he looked into Princess Cassandra’s eyes. There was a little curiosity in his face as he said the words. "The people who can use multiple elements do know how to use them simultaneously. Why don’t you try using it?"

Princess Cassandra nodded. "I want to try it too but I am afraid. I feel it might take so much of my energy that ...." before Princess Cassandra could finish the wind element said.

[Actually, you do not have to worry about it.] The wind element smiled as it continued. [The powers that you absorb are yours to use. We are all a part of you now so no matter how you want to use us we have to follow you.]

Princess Cassandra closed her eyes as she tried to concentrate. Soon she opened her eyes as a small flame emerged from her hand. Cassandra started providing a small amount of wind, manipulating the direction of it using her hands and soon the small flame intensified and grew bigger. But Princess Cassandra feared that it might be out of control. What if she could not control the powers but soon her worry nullified.

"Now control the water." Duke Salvador said as he sat there looking at the fifth Princess who had become powerful. "Let the water extinguish the fire."

Princess Cassandra moved and a string of water moved along her fingers. Soon the strings formed a cage around the flame as it started contracting. And soon the water extinguished the flames completely.

Princess Cassandra smiled as she felt maybe she could use the wind with water as well. A weird thought came into her mind and before Cassandra knew it she started pushing the wind molecules around the water. Cassandra did not know what she was doing but soon she saw the water molecules forming ice.

Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened as an ice droplet formed and Princess Cassandra stopped suddenly. "What happened?" Cassandra asked in shock. Her voice was trembling in fear of the unknown. She did not know how she did it suddenly but Princess Cassandra was excited with the results.

The wind element tried to explain. [The wind around the water surface turns colder and thus the water starts to form ice. Your movement will affect the ice formation and you can also control it by will.]

"I can control it by will? How?" Princess Cassandra asked. Whatever her was experiencing was all too new for her. Princess Cassandra’s eyes were shining brightly as she wanted to learn something new.

[It’s easy. When you are controlling water, think about the ice and the water will turn to ice. You can control it in a similar way as you control the water. But if you want the ice to turn into the water again then think about the warmth. The ice will start melting and turn into water. You can even become an expert at it but for that, you have to practice harder. This will only help you in the final battle.]

"The final battle." Duke Salvador said as it looked at the wind element sitting on the table. "You feel too certain about it?"

[I can sense it. It will not take long. I feel like I have to make you stronger before you could absorb the earth element. Because when you absorb the earth it will result in waking Elvira up.]

Duke Salvador and Princess Cassandra looked at each other in confusion. "Why so?"

[When we decided to stay here in the Vivere Kingdom, the earth element was the one that swallowed the Elvira up. The witch resides in him.]

"But isn’t the witch in the Kir mountain?" Princess Cassandra asked as she raised her eyebrows.

[Yes, but it is not on the mountain. She is inside it.] The wind element said. [When all the ice is melted the top of the mountain will be opened. It will be then that you will be able to feel the earth element.]

Duke Salvador moved towards the wind element that resembled a cat as he asked. "But can’t the fifth Princess absorb the earth element and kill the witch in her sleep? Won’t it solve the problem?"

The cat shook its head. [When the Princess will absorb the earth element, its hold on the witch will be loosened and she will wake up. She is no ordinary person. She is the most powerful witch in history. She won’t go down without a fight.]

Princess Cassandra nodded as she turned towards the Duke. "But what if she tries to kill one of us? I do not want to lose you."

Aiden smiled as he touched the fifth Princess’s hair. "You will not lose me. I am a strong mage. Strongest of the fire mage. We have to make sure that you do not hurt yourself."

The wind element smiled. [The witch might try to make yours. You do resemble the first Emperor. Your source of power is the same. Pure fire.]

Princess Cassandra swallowed hard as she held the Duke’s hand. "Can only I kill the witch?"

[Yes you can but did you know that Princess Elvira was the bellowed sister of Princess Maxima before she turned evil. Princess Maxima lost her loved one and sacrificed herself in hopes of stopping Princess Elvira. You need to sacrifice something too.]

Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened. "I have to sacrifice something? What?"

The wind element in the form of a cat shook its head as it got up from the table walking towards the fifth Princess. Its eyes shone brightly as it said. [Who knows. Only time will tell who will sacrifice what but a sacrifice is important."

The wind element disappeared in the air as only Princess Cassandra and Duke Salvador remained. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Aiden looked into the fifth Princess’s face as he could see her trembling gaze. He sighed as he moved close towards Princess Cassandra before touching her head lightly. "It’s okay, butterfly. Let’s practice more and make yourself powerful enough that you don’t have to sacrifice anything."

Princess Cassandra nodded her head but the wind element’s words were still fresh in her mind.

Princess Valeria smiled as she observed the Duke quietly. She could not help but say to the secretary who was sitting beside her. "How long will the journey take?"

The secretary smiled as he said. "Around two weeks Princess."

Princess Valeria nodded. Her eyes refused to leave Duke Salvador for a second. "Secretary, you tell me. They say that you have your ears and eyes everywhere in the palace."

"Yes." The secretary nodded as he looked at the first Princess.

"So who was the lady in red? The Princess that Duke Salvador danced with. The one that he showed interest in?" Princess Valeria’s voice was low as her eyes narrowed.

The secretary observed the first Princess as he smiled. "To be honest there should be none. I don’t think that Duke Salvador dances with the lady in red."

"But he did say that himself to the Emperor. Do you think he lied?" Princess Valeria asked in confusion. "The Duke would never lie, secretary. If he said that he danced then he might have. Many people saw him dancing."

"Princess, do you really think a man like the Duke will spare time dancing? The only woman he had danced with was Duchess Garfield, that too because she is his cousin." The secretary tried to reason as he looked at the Duke. "A man like Duke Salvador only knows how to fight and win wars. Love is something that he might not care about."

Princess Valeria thought about the secretary’s words. She herself had not seen the Duke talk with anyone in particular. Although people said that the Duke was dancing with someone, how could Princess Valeria be sure about it?

"So that means I still have a chance to win his heart." Princess Valeria smiled. "I can still make him fall in love with me. All I need to do is try harder and Duke Salvador will be mine."

The secretary looked at the first Princess as his eyes narrowed. "Does Princess think that she can make the man who never loved anyone, fall in love?"

Princess Valeria giggled as she touched her hair slightly. "There is always a first. Why do you think I asked that Duke Salvador come along with us?"

Princess Valeria looked at the secretary as she continued. "I want him to see how powerful I am. I want him to fall for me. A man like Duke Salvador who has always been in power can relate to it. On the trip, I will make sure that the Duke knows how he could always stay in power. And that is by marrying me."
