Chapter 120: Colorful

Duke Salvador nodded his head.

"He has been hidden well," Aiden said in a low tone. "No one knew it till date."

"But.." Cassandra’s eyes were shaky. She was not ready to accept the fact that the man she was going to marry was a person from the enemy’s Kingdom. There was a feeling of uneasiness in her. "He is a water mage right?"

Duke Salvador nodded his head. "Yes, he is." Aiden’s gaze focused on the table at the elements playing with each other. "They might have an answer."

The elements who were playing with each other sat down properly once they heard Duke Salvador’s voice. They looked at each other deciding whether to tell them this yet or not?"

"You should be truthful." Princess Cassandra said in a soft tone. There was a warning in her eyes that was hidden.

’Don’t try to fool us. I can tell by the way you both are looking at each other that something is wrong.’ Princess Cassandra thought; very well aware that the elements could hear her.

"There is nothing much to say." The fire element smiled as he looked at the Duke. "You have seen the crystals, right?"

Duke Salvador nodded his head as he waited for the elements to continue.

"Well, When our owner died the crystals within her soul expanded and broke into minute pieces." The fire element added as he looked at the water element.

"Your owner? Who?" Princess Cassandra asked in confusion. All she knew was they had suddenly started talking with her and that had made her frightened.

The water element got up as his cat body walked towards the fifth Princess. "You know her. I have made you see a glimpse of her life the first time you went into a deep sleep."

Princess Cassandra looked at the Duke with wide eyes. She remembered seeing a Princess’s life playing in front of her eyes. She had even shared it with Duke Salvador.

"A glimpse?" Princess Cassandra asked in a questionable tone.

"Yes." The water element smiled as it went back towards the fire element. "You have to find out the whole truth."

Amy, who was listening to everything silently, was confused by the element’s words. "But if you know the truth then why can’t you just tell it openly?" Amy raised her eyebrows in irritation. "Why does the Princess have to find it herself?"

The fire element’s eyes narrowed as it sneered. "We would have if we could but we are bound. The Water was able to show you things because he can retain memories."

"I do." The water element nodded as it looked down in dull eyes. "But when the crystals were broken my memories were too. I cannot help you a lot with this Princess. But I can tell you one thing that the Lord you are talking about has consumed a water crystal."

There was silence in the room. No one dared to speak but Princess Cassandra stared at Amy. Amy, who was unaware of why the fifth Princess was so focused on her, swallowed hard. There was a little uneasiness in her heart.

"Princess?" Amy said in a low tone. Although she did not know what was wrong, she had known the fifth Princess for a long time. She knew that Princess Cassandra was thinking something crucial.

"Amy." Princess Cassandra’s tone was sharp. "You saw someone taking the colorful crystal to the first Princess, right?"

Amy understood what the Princess was getting at. She looked down at the elements as he said. "Yes, I have seen a man taking crystals to the fifth Princess. Two every small one. It was a mixture of colors. Red, blue, yellow, and brown."

The water element nodded its head. "When the crystals broke they acquired the elements. Some had a single color, some in combination, and some had all four." The water element smiled with a sad gaze. "There are color representatives for it all. Blue for water like me. Red for fire. Yellow for air and brown for land."

"Do you mean that the first Princess was able to use it because she had consumed the crystals?" Duke Salvador asked as he looked at the fifth Princess.

"In a way, yes." The fire element said. "But you need darkness to consume it. Until the darkness helps you, you cannot place a new crystal in the soul."

"Darkness? Do you always talk about it? What is it?" Amy asked in annoyance. Everything that was happening to her was beyond her expectation.

"I cannot explain it properly." The water element said in a soft tone. "But let me try. The crystals were surrounded by darkness. It helps the crystals stay in place."

"But doesn’t that make the darkness a good thing?" Amy asked as she looked at the elements.

"It used to be." The fire element smiled sadly. "But everything has its limits and the darkness has it too."

The water element nodded its head in agreement. "Yes. It became greedy but it was short-sighted. When the crystal broke the darkness scattered as well."

"So the Vivere Kingdom’s people control the darkness?" Duke Salvador asked as he raised his eyebrows.

"Yes."

"Yes."

The water and fire element replies simultaneously.

Duke Salvador looked at the fifth Princess before he turned to the elements again. "But what is their true power? It is a mystery."

"It occupies the space." The fire element said as it looked at the water element to continue.

"It can transfer through space."

Princess Cassandra knew it. After all, she had experienced it personally.

"But how can they fight us? The one who has elemental power?" Duke Salvador asked. He had been a part of the war for a long time. Although he could not see it, he knew that the Vivere Kingdom’s people were strong.

Duke Salvador knew that something was helping them. But now that he knew it, being a mage that controlled space did not make any sense to him.

"Can they transfer the attack through space?" The Duke questioned as he folded his hands in deep thoughts.

"To an extent, yes." The elements said in union.

Duke Salvador wanted to ask for it but before he could they disappeared. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Princess Cassandra sighed as she said. "They lost their powers. They both went back inside."

Duke Salvador and Amy nodded. Many questions were yet to be answered.

"You need to meet the King too." Duke Salvador reminded the fifth Princess.

"I know. But I feel exhausted." Princess Cassandra sighed. Her gaze was buried as she looked nowhere in particular.

The room was filled with silence. All three of them wanted to talk but didn’t know how to.

Any took a deep breath as she continued. "There is one more thing that I have observed, Princess."

Cassandra nodded as she encouraged Amy to continue.

"I have seen that they are wary of me and the Duke. They feel like we are outsiders. Something that will pollute their land but they are very welcoming of you. As if they know who you are."

Princess Cassandra did not know how to answer it. She had felt it too, yet she did not know how to express it.

"They know your mother? Isn’t it?" Duke Salvador said as he looked at the fifth Princess. "They practically blackmailed you to come here. Didn’t they say that they are the only ones who can help you understand your power and the truth about your mother?"

Princess Cassandra remembered Prince Carl’s words. Duke Salvador’s words were true. She was forced to come.

"Is it the reason why they do not differentiate with me? Because they know my mother?" Princess Cassandra asked in confusion. Her gaze shook thinking about this possibility.

"No. It cannot be so." Amy said in a low tone as if she had gone back in time. "They are not the people who will have a favorable opinion just because they know someone."

Amy looked at the Princess as if afraid of her next words. "Unless it is one of them."

"So you mean to say the Princess’s mother might be from the Vivere Kingdom?" Duke Salvador asked as he looked at Amy.

Although he felt the possibility of it being so was very low but looking at the situation it could not be denied.

Amy and Aiden looked at the fifth Princess who was quiet the whole time. It was as if she was thinking too deeply about things but still, she could not find any answers.

"Princess?" Amy called the fifth Princess as she looked at the Duke with worry. Aiden shook his head as he touched Cassandra’s hand with worry.

Aiden could feel Cassandra’s hand going cold. It was as if she was a piece of ice. Aiden understood the worry Princess Cassandra was under.

"You do not need to worry about anything Princess. It is just a possibility." Aiden smiled as he saw Cassandra looking at him. "And even if it is true, we all will be with you. We are not going to leave you alone. After all, we are in this together."

Amy smiled as she held Cassandra’s other hand. "Yes, Princess. It doesn’t matter who your parents are. All that matters is you."

Princess Cassandra smiled as tears accumulated in her eyes. She nodded her head as her heart swallowed with emotions.
