CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 119: Greediness
"Princess?" Duke Salvador said as he looked at the fifth Princess who stopped mid-walk.
Duke Salvador was confused as he followed Princess Cassandra’s gaze. His eyes narrowed as he looked at the man standing there.
A familiar face came into view. Duke Salvador’s hands formed a fist as he said in a whisper. "Not now Princess."
Princess Cassandra nodded her head as she walked past the area. She knew that it was not the right time. Cassandra could feel a longing in the gaze of the man but she was confused why that might be.

Prince Cedric smiled as he listened to his guard’s report.
"So the first Princess is talking with the secretary?" Prince Cedric smiled as he looked at the man. "Didn’t you hear anything else?"
The guard shook his head. "No, but they will be going somewhere. I don’t know the location but the first Princess was quite excited at the end of their discussion."
Prince Cedric smiled. "Pay attention to her moves. If she wants to go somewhere she would require the Emperor’s approval. Make sure that we know all the little things that are discussed in the Throne room."
The guard nodded his head as he disappeared into thin air. Prince Cedric was sitting on the chair looking past the window. His eyes were narrowed. Someone who might know would think he was observing the scenery and appreciating but in reality, Prince Cedric was in deep thoughts.
’Princess Valeria is not suitable to rule the land.’
’Her greediness will bring the Empire down.’
’Does the Emperor think the same way?’
’Is it the reason why father has not declared Valeria as the heir to the public even though the rumors of her using all four elements spread like wildfire?’
’That might be the case but if it really is then, I have to be more careful.’
’I can only have a chance when I can control all four elements.’
Prince Cedric’s mind was filled with different possibilities and ways. He wanted to stop Valeria at all costs even if it resulted in one of their deaths.
Prince Cedric knew that the worst thing that can happen would be a fight between them.
’Yes, if I do have a fight for the powers I have to have other Duke’s at my side who can help me win.’
’I can feel Princess Valeria’s powers being a little shaky at times. When the water dropped down into droplets it was because she could not control the powers. Her strength and hold on to the elements are not strong.’
Prince Cedric was in deep thoughts. He folded his hands as her sight sharpened. ’I need to talk with others. I need to convince them that I will be the most suitable choice.’

Amy was working with the other ladies in the kitchen. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and happiness.
"So how was your life in the Elvira Empire?" One of the ladies asked as she raised her eyebrows. "I heard life there is not so happy if you are not that powerful? And I can tell your life would be a little sad."
Amy smiled. She did not know what made the ladies think so but she was here on a mission. She needed information. "Not really."
Amy started slicing the carrot. "I stayed with the fifth Princess. Although our life was a little difficult it changed when she got engaged to Lord Bentham."
"Lord Bentham?" The maid raised her eyes in confusion. "If the Princess is engaged, why did she travel here alone?"
Amy’s eyes sharpened at the words but she did not connect them. She decided to change the topic. "Everyone in the palace is happy." Amy smiled as she mixed in with the maids. "Everyone must be happy that the Prince and Princess are back."
A lady who was expressive enough could not control her emotions. "Not only that but the Lord is back as well. The Grand Duke would be so happy that his son finally came home after ages."
Amy’s gaze shook as she listened to their words but she did not object. She simply smiled as he pushed the plate of carrots to the lady that was beside her as she took in some other words.
Amy could feel that the maids were cautious around her as the lady who talked about the Duke was suddenly made quiet.
"You have so many different spices here. I am happy that Princess Cassandra can finally taste some good food." Amy smiled as she looked at the lady. Soon the tension that was created unknowingly eased as everyone started talking and discussing.
Amy joined in on a few conversations but her head was filled with different worries. She could not express it at the time but Amy knew that she had to go and meet the fifth Princess soon.

Princess Cassandra was in the room sitting silently on the chair waiting for Duke Salvador to enter.
As soon as the Duke entered the room the fifth Princess’s eyes shook. She got up from the chair in a hurry as she closed the door blocking the outside’s influence as told by the elements.
"Did you see him?" Princess Cassandra asked as she looked at the Duke, hoping to get a confirmation.
The Duke nodded his head as he smiled looking at the fifth Princess. "They look similar. Don’t you think ..."
Before the Duke could talk further there was a knock on the door, frightening both Princess Cassandra and Duke Salvador.
The fifth Princess took a step forward as she indicated to Ed to hide. Aiden, who did not know what to do, entered the attached room of Cassandra’s lady in waiting.
Cassandra sighed as she opened the door only to see a guard standing there.
"Yes." Princess Cassandra asked with a smile on her face. She was nervous as only her head could be seen but Cassandra thought that would be enough.
"Princess Teimei would like you to accompany her for a walk in the garden." The guard said. Cassandra looked past the guard but did not see any lady there.
Princess Cassandra was confused as her gaze turned down. "I am not feeling well. I guess the change in the food and climate is taking a toll on me. Can you extend my apologies to the Princess? I will try to make it up with her soon."
The guard did not reply but his gaze was trying to look in the room. But because the door was not opened fully he could not.
[The Princess does look weak.] The guard though. [But the appointed guards could not see inside the room suddenly. They said that something was blocking it.]
[Is there someone inside the Princess’s room?]
Princess Cassandra’s eyes sharpened but she still maintained the reaction of being sick. Just before the guard could say something she saw Amy coming her way with a bowl of soup.
"Amy, what took you so long." Princess Cassandra shouted as she opened the door allowing the guard to look inside. "Did you add all the medicinal herbs in the soup? My stomach is hurting me." Cassandra touched her stomach as she complained.
Amy looked at the guard as she understood the situation. Her steps increased as she rushed inside the room. "Forgive me, Princess. It took longer than expected. Why did you leave the bed? Let me help you."
Amy put the soup on the table as she rushed to hold the fifth Princess. Cassandra collapsed in Amy’s hand as she smiled at the guard. "I need strength to meet the King too. Please apologize to Princess Teimei from my end." With these words, Princess Cassandra closed the door.
As they entered the room, Cassandra stood straight as she sat on the chair. Duke Salvador who was in Amy’s room came out as he nodded at her.
Amy was confused but she could still understand the situation. "I got something," Amy said.
All three of them sat on the table as the fire and water elements in the forms of cats sat on the table.
"When I was talking with the ladies in the kitchen I realized that they do not know who Lord Bentham is. But they did know who you are." Amy said as she looked at the fifth Princess.
"Not only that, they said the palace is happy because the Duke’s son is back with Prince Carl and Princess Teimei."
Princess Cassandra and Duke Salvador looked at each other. There was a glow in their eyes as if they had finally realized the truth.
"So that means lord Bentham is Vivere Kingdom’s Duke’s son?" Princess Cassandra asked in a questionable tone.
Although she knew the answer to the question, she still felt that the words were meant to be said. Duke Salvador nodded his head as he looked at Amy and asked. "Did you hear anything else?"
Amy shook her head. "No, but while I was on my way I heard Lord Bentham talking to someone. His father is the Emperor’s younger brother."
Cassandra’s eyes widened in shock as Amy’s words sank in. "That means Lord Bentham is Prince Carl’s cousin."
