CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 112: Feed My Soul
As soon as Cassandra’s words left her mouth an invisible barrier started forming.
The only way that both Duke Salvador and Princess Cassandra knew that it was working was as the barrier started to form, the end started sparkling as they closed. It was as if they were engulfed in something that they have always just imagined.
Cassandra looked around with an astonished expression. She could not understand how something like this would have taken place just from her words. It was a very unusual experience for someone who was always neglected by others.
As Cassandra looked at the Duke, she was equally surprised. Aiden could feel an unusual type of energy form around him but he did not try to repel. It was a smoothing experience for him as there was a little known fact on what had just happened.
Aiden looked at the fifth princess who was looking at him. "What just happened?" Aiden asked in an amused tone.
"I don’t know." Princess Cassandra murmured in disbelief. "It just told me to do so."
"It?" Aiden raised his eyebrows. "Who told you?" Duke Salvador’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the fifth Princess in doubt.
"Why don’t we sit?" Cassandra said in a soft tone. She walked towards the chair that was kept near the bed.
Aiden followed the fifth Princess, he could sense that someone was near the window but now that it was close Aiden could not see what was outside.
"Are you sure they cannot hear us?" Duke Salvador asked as he tilted his head in confusion.
"I am not sure." Cassandra swallowed but then the voice told her, [It cannot see or hear you.]
Cassandra looked at the Duke as she said in a soft tone. "It says that they cannot hear us."
Aiden was more confused than ever. "Who is it? Tell me? Are you hearing someone else’s thoughts?"
"I don’t know," Cassandra looked down at her hands, as she fiddled with them. "All I know is that it is coming from within."
"Within? As in from inside of you?" Aiden’s voice was going higher. He was getting confused by the second.
[Touch his hand.]
[He will help us.]
[His power is pure. The remaining crystals can be filled with it.]
[We need it to entrap the darkness at the end.]
Cassandra was confused. ’What do you mean we need it?’
Cassandra thought as she started to panic. ’You tell me what is happening otherwise I will not do anything anymore.’
The voice laughed. [Are you sure?]
[Who else are you going to listen to if not of your inner self?]
[We are a part of you.]
[Trust us, Princess. We are you.]
Cassandra swallowed as she shook her head in denial. She was frightened by the way things were working out. An unusual fear was forming in her heart which she wanted to remove.
Aiden could sense that something was happening. Something was troubling the fifth Princess.
"Are you okay?" Aiden asked as he touched Princess Cassandra’s hand. The coldness in her hand was counted by the warmth that the Duke provided.
Aiden smiled as he tightened his hold on the Princess. "Something is bothering you. You can talk about it if you want."
Cassandra’s eyes were filled with tears. She swallowed as she blinked a few times to control her emotions. "I want to tell you something."
—----------
Aiden listened to Cassandra’s explanation without his expression giving anything away.
"Do you think I am crazy?" Cassandra asked as she looked down on the floor. "It is okay if you feel like that. I am used to it anyway." Cassandra’s voice cracked as she said the last words.
Aiden’s eyes softened. "I will never feel like that. You are my butterfly. Someone who has grown through the darkness and is aspiring to fly high. Why would I think so little of you to reduce your worth?"
Aiden smiled as his hold on the fifth Princess tightened. "You have gone through a lot and it might be scary for you Princess. I understand but I just wanted to tell you this. Even if it is scary, do not shy away. There are many things in this world that we do not know of yet so when you encounter something you are unsure of you need to speak up."
"There are many people that love you. Stop my little butterfly." Aiden touched Cassandra’s head with care. "Do not be afraid to speak up. Do not be afraid to ask for help and do not be afraid to be judged. Because unless you have gone through it all, you will never move above it."
Cassandra looked at the Duke with a little water in her gaze. Her nose was puffed up but she managed to nod. "I know."
Aiden smiled as he touched Cassandra’s cheeks. "So the water in the crystals wants to absorb my fire?"
Cassandra nodded. "It said that to unleash my powers it needs to feed my soul. And you are the purest source near me."
"At Least someone like me," Aiden murmured as he gave his hand to the fifth Princess. "I can never go against my butterfly right. Take what you need."
"But will that be okay?" Cassandra opened her eyes wide. Her neck was pink as she heard Aiden’s words. She wanted to say that she liked him too but she could not strengthen her courage.
"I will be okay. We are mages so the power comes from the surroundings. Didn’t you explain it to me before in the mansion?" Aiden asked with an innocent tone.
’Yes, I remember it.’ Cassandra thought as she nodded her head.
’But if this is the case then why cannot I do the same?’
[Because you are weak.] The voice answered the questions that Cassandra was wondering. [Now don’t lose the man and hold his hand.]
’When will you be quiet?’ Cassandra wondered as she held Duke Salvador’s hand.
[When you are powerful enough to handle your own powers. Now focused and let the flow guide you.]
Cassandra swallowed as she looked into Duke Salvador’s eyes who gave her the courage. Cassandra nodded as she closed her eyes and she concentrated and focused on the flow.
Soon Princess Cassandra could feel the warmth that was only on the tip of her fingers travel through her body slowly concentrating on her heart.
[Just a little bit more.]
[Don’t overdo it. Otherwise, you will fire out.]
’I do not understand.’
[Just trust me.]
[Leave the man’s hand when I tell you too.]
Cassandra was feeling the warmth that she had never felt before. ’This feeling is beautiful.’
[Isn’t it but now we need to stop.]
Cassandra was reluctant. She swallowed as her body wanted to take more.
[Leave the man if you want him to live.]
Cassandra opened her eyes wide as soon as she listened to those words. Cassandra’s fingers loosened as she pushed the Duke’s hand away.
Cassandra opened her eyes as she looked at the Duke who was looking a little pale. Cassandra did not think as she moved towards him and she touched his arms. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Are you okay?" Cassandra’s voice was filled with worry. "You should rest."
Princess Cassandra supported the Duke as she tried moving the man on the bed. Aiden’s face was smiling as he looked at the fifth Princess but acted powerlessly. "My head is spinning."
Cassandra’s eyes widened as her eyes closed with guilt. She struggled as she managed to place the Duke on the bed as she ran in search of some water. "Wait."
Cassandra poured some water as she moved towards the Duke. He made him drink it as she placed a hand behind his head.
As soon as the glass touched Aiden’s lips, he smiled which could not be seen by the fifth Princess. After enjoying the sweet treatment Aiden felt nice.
’I could become addicted to this.’
Although Aiden felt so, he decided to stop now. Cassandra’s condition was more important. He still remembered what happened when she absorbed Blazh’s power. She could not wake up then but now her condition looked better.
’Should I trust the voice that Cassandra is talking about?’
’I didn’t have any other opinion though.’
’It broke the seal that Princess Teimei cast on Cassandra.’
Duke Salvador smiled as he took the glass from Cassandra’s hand as his eyes moved towards the wrist that once had a mark on it, but now it vanished.
’Cassandra said it is a part of her.’
Aiden placed the glass on the table as he held onto the fifth Princess’s wrist before making her sit beside him on the bed.
"Forget about me. How are you feeling? Are you feeling unwell? Is something bothering you? Does your heart hurt?" Aiden asked as he looked at the fifth Princess carefully.
Cassandra felt a little weird but in a good way. She was cared for but every time it happened, it was by the Duke.
"I am fine." Cassandra smiled as she looked at the Duke. But soon the voice came from within as if two people were talking.
[Why don’t you use the power and see?]
