CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 111: Command
Cassandra walked towards the source of the disturbance.
She extended her hand as she tried touching it. Cassandra smiled but soon her smile faded off. There was nothing she could do anymore.
"What is this? ’’ Cassandra murmured as her eyes narrowed. She could feel the energy following through her but she could not yet understand what it was.
"Something’s not right" Princess Cassandra touched and the disturbance soon formed a shape. It was the shape of crystals.
"They look transparent in the darkness." Cassandra could feel the difference. The first time when she had seen them, it felt a little different but now it was showing a clear and sharp structure.
As Princess Cassandra moved forwards she could see that some of the crystals have water flowing in them as if it was entrapped. "Is it from the time when I absorbed some power from Blazh?"
Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened in shock. There was a smile on her face as she touched the crystals but soon the water flowing in it concentrated near her fingers, at the point that touched it.
’Does it want to talk with me?’
Princess Cassandra wondered. There was a smile on her face.
"Do you want to tell me something?" Princess Cassandra asked even though she knew that asking such questions was useless.
PrincessCassandra could see the water that was stagnant moving up and down as if nodding. Cassandra’s eyes widened. "I am listening to you."
But as Princess Cassandra took her ears towards the crystals the darkness rushed through as if pushing her away from the crystal.
’It does not want me to hear things.’ Cassandra’s eyes widened when she realized it. ’But why?’
Princess Cassandra looked at the crystals that were moving towards her as if trying to protect her in their way. They were struggling so that the darkness did not reach her.
Princess Cassandra was confused. She wanted to know more about what was happening but she could not understand. It was all too new for her.
"I have to get something done now." Princess Cassandra said. "Ed told me that I have to ask if I wanted answers so I will do that from now on."
Although Princess Cassandra knew that the crystals were non-living things that might not be able to talk she still wanted to try. It was a silly idea that came into her mind that Cassandra wanted to execute.
"Will you help me in understanding?" Cassandra looked at the crystals. Most of them were transparent as they surrounded her, not letting darkness enter. They created a barrier for the fifth Princess.
As soon as Princess Cassandra said those words she could see the few crystals containing water float near her.
’I am hallucinating now.’
Princess Cassandra’s lips curled up as she looked at the blue crystals. "Will you tell me?"
Cassandra asked even though she knew that she couldn’t reply. The water that was in the crystals flowed out of it as it interred Princess Cassandra’s eyes.
The fifth Princess stood in nowhere and shook. Her heartbeats started running wild as she took deep breaths. Her eyes closed as the layer of water sunk it.
But soon everything was over. The pain that she experienced was lost. Cassandra took a deep breath as she opened her eyes. Cassandra could not feel any difference now but she knew that the water from the crystals had entered her body.
Cassandra could feel that the water was traveling towards a destination. She could feel the rush from within. Cassandra looked down at her hand as she saw that the mark that Princess Teimei gave her was disappearing.
"You don’t like my powers to be caged?" Cassandra asked, laughing as she knew that it was the doing of the water from the crystals.
Soon Cassandra hears a voice from within her.
[Yes, we do not like it.]
[You are meant to be free for us to be free.]
Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened. She looked around in a rush but she couldn’t see anyone.
"Who are you?" Cassandra asked in a trembling voice. Her heartbeats were running faster as if someone was about to kill her.
[We are a fraction of your power and we will be with you forever.]
Cassandra looked at the crystals that were lying beside her. "Are you the water from the crystal?" Cassandra’s breaths were messed up as her hands formed a fist.
The voice laughed. [Yes we are and we feel lonely in her. Why don’t you bring some of my friends inside too.]
"What do you mean by some of your friends?" Cassandra swallowed as she asked.
[Someone is waiting for you. You should go now. We cannot keep him waiting.] the voice said as the water moved out from Princess Cassandra’s eyes towards the crystals. [But before you go, remember that you are more powerful than you think you are. I can only tell you this for now. You need to unleash your power yourself, but remember the people here are not our friends.]
Princess Cassandra could not understand what the voice meant but before she could ask Cassandra opened her eyes to the real world.
Cassandra’s breathing increased as she looked around the room. ’I am in the Vivere Kingdom.’
Cassandra tried telling it to herself. ’I need to be careful.’
Princess Cassandra tried maintaining her breathing close to normal but soon she was frightened as her heartbeats increased.
"What happened to you?"
Princess Cassandra looked at the source of the voice with wide eyes. "Why do you always have to frighten me?"
DukeSalvador smelled as he sat beside the fifth Princess, playing innocent. "That is never my intention. You are the one who gets frightened easily."
Princess Cassandra’s eyes narrowed as she looked at Aiden with a wired expression.
"Did you go there?" Aiden asked as his gaze turned serious.
Princess Cassandra understood what the Duke wanted to say. She smiled with a small curled of lips as she nodded. "It felt like I needed to."
Duke Salvadorstared at the fifth Princess for a few seconds. "You know what happened when you went there. We are in an unknown kingdom. I do not want to put you at risk." Aiden said as his eyes softened.
"I know but sometimes it feels like that place is calling me," Cassandra said as she looked into Duke Salvador’s eyes.
Aiden did not reply to it. He knew that princess Cassandra had some secrets that she wanted to keep but he always wanted to be a part of it.
"You hear something on the way here? Didn’t you?" Queen said as he changed the topic.
Cassandra smiled. "Yes, I heard the maids. They said that they were impure." Cassandra’s eyes blurred. "They complained that the Prince and Princess should not have brought people like us here."
"I heard the Vivere Kingdom’s people dislike the Elvira Empire’s people a lot." Duke Salvador said in a low tone. "I guess they are angry that they were pushed out after the Empire reestablished itself."
Princess Cassandra nodded her head. "That might be the case but they said something more."
"Something more?" Aiden raised his eyes.
"They said that the Duke would be happy that his son had returned." Cassandra’s eyes were filled with irritation and disbelief. "What does that mean?"
"Someone from the army would be the Duke’s son that had gone to the Empire with the Prince," Aiden said as she shook his shoulders.
"I don’t feel so." Princess Cassandra shook her head in denial. " I am sure they are not talking about it. I feel like they are talking about Lord Bentham."
Duke Salvador raised his eyebrows. "That is not possible." Aiden’s voice was filled with confidence but that came down when he looked at the fifth Princess’s face. "You truly think that the son the maids were thinking about was Lord Bentham? Achard Bentham?"
Princess Cassandra took a deep breath. She got up from the bed and walked towards the window. She looked outside into the darkness as the voice from her within came.
[Close the window.]
[They are coming to see you.]
[[Close the window now.]
Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened as she looked at the Duke in a hurry. Without thinking she shut the windows as her hands trembled.
Aiden sensed that something was wrong with Princess Cassandra. He got up from the bed but the fifth Princess looked at him as she shook her head. "Don’t come near."
Aiden could feel that the fifth princess had felt something. He nodded his head as he stood in the place. Cassandra looked at the Duke who was following her instructions.
Cassandra swallowed as she looked back at the window with a complicated gaze. ’Now what?’
Cassandra asked no one in particular.
[Do not worry. We will help you.] The voice commanded as it continued.
[Put your hands on the window and concentrate. A command that the room will be protected from all of the outsiders’ influence.]
Cassandra did not think as she closed her eyes. She touched the window as she concentrated. Soon her voice was the only thing that sounded in the quiet room.
"Block outsiders’ influence."
