Chapter 29: +Chapter 29+

Caspian was certain his heart flew out of his chest then, he was pinned against the arm of the couch, Asher mere inches away from him.

He didn’t know how to answer to that, unsure where his gaze should be on. Asher’s body just as distracting as his eyes and that really handsome face.

He couldn’t give an answer because he hoped that Asher wouldn’t make a move, but he was bought for that, so it was kind of a conundrum.

Asher just chuckled and put some distance between them again, "What do you like to watch?"

Caspian’s response caught in his throat, it was such a basic question, or at least it should be but he had a difficult time answering because he hadn’t really watched much of anything since his parents died.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to but that he didn’t exactly freely get access to a television.

"Detective shows." He gave a generic answer, not realizing how that would sound.

"Should I be worried?" Asher asked dryly and it took Caspian a moment to realize he was teasing.

His smile came unexpectedly, "You shouldn’t, honestly, I prefer romcoms." He admitted, "What about you?"

Caspian froze a bit as he asked that, it was so easy to talk to Asher tonight for some reason, it made him forget himself.

"Unsolved, murder mysteries." Asher deadpanned.

Caspian’s smile widened, he wrapped his arms around his knees, laughing softly. "That’s even worse."

Asher felt the world slow down when Caspian laughed, and he realized that it was the first time the Omega made the expression.

Something had always been a little off between them but after finding out the truth about the Omega, the bridge between them had become easy to cross.

His stare dropped to those soft pink lips, remembering the sweet taste of them and the sins they could commit.

"I’m pretty sure we could find a detective show that is a rom-com and also has unsolved murder mysteries," Caspian’s smile softened, unaware of Asher’s filthy thoughts.

The Alpha snapped out of it, maybe he needed to get himself checked because he couldn’t spend a few minutes with the Omega without acting like he was about to go into rut.

"I think we could," He agreed absently, refocusing on the screen.

Caspian couldn’t believe it, he almost pinched himself to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.

He was watching shows with Asher and actually having a good time, the tension bleeding out of his shoulders.

He didn’t realize how much he missed this - friendly company - until he got the chance to have it again. Noah had never even bothered to have a civil conversation with him, yet a Mafia King he just met was doing it with ease.

It was easy to forget that he was pretending to be someone else, smiling the most he had in years as their back and forth continued while they watched the show.

He didn’t even mind the Alpha leaning his head on his shoulder, half-tempted to tuck his hair out of his face.

Caspian forgot how to breathe when Asher tipped his head to the side, staring into Asher’s eyes which were like pools reflecting the sun.

He should protest, he shouldn’t let this begin because it would be impossible to stop.

His eyes fluttered shut, breathing in deeply to pull Asher’s smoky scent into his lungs. The kiss was surprisingly chaste, Asher pulling away far too quickly.

"I’m going to turn in," The Alpha said as he got to his feet and sauntered over to the bed.

Caspian watched him go in disbelief, disappointment sitting heavy in his middle. Why were things going so well for him the one time he would rather they didn’t?

He had wanted to taste Asher’s tongue, he wanted the Alpha to push the limit until he had to be forced to put a stop to it when his secret was about to be revealed.

He supposed he couldn’t blame Asher, every time they got intimate, Caspian acted like he was falling apart. He wished he didn’t but there were so many layers to the matter.

The show they had been watching lost all its color after Asher left, he barely paid attention, his gaze constantly drifting over to the bed.

Caspian wanted to be close to Asher, missing the Alpha’s body heat. It was clear he wasn’t in the mood for sex tonight, perhaps he could join him on the bed and be fine?

Caspian’s body made the decision for him, he turned off the television and rose to his feet, gingerly walking over.

"Take off your robe," Asher’s voice drifted over to him as he got closer to the bed, the Alpha sounding suspiciously lucid.

Caspian was dressed underneath so he didn’t protest too much, it was much more comfortable without the robe on anyway, the lace against his skin chafing less without it.

He gently crawled on the bed, his skirt swishing around his thighs. His heart thumped against his rib cage as he curled as close to the edge as possible, facing out.

Caspian yelped when he suddenly felt an arm around his waist which pulled him against a hard chest, Asher’s body heat scalding him through the translucent top he wore.

"You’ll fall off if you sleep so close to the edge," Asher’s deep voice spoke right beside his ear.

That was easily a much better option than his current position. Asher had taken off his robe sometime after Caspian got on the bed, so he was half naked in bed with him.

He was pressed up against the hard length of his body, Asher’s dick nestled against the small of his back.

Yeah, no. Caspian wasn’t getting any sleep in this position.

Asher didn’t even seem to notice his discomfort, the Alpha’s hand slipping underneath his top to trail his fingers across his waist and stomach, making goosebumps pop out on his skin.

That same hand wandered lower, making Caspian flinch involuntarily. He only relaxed when he felt the Alpha’s hand on his thighs, trying hard not to squirm at how intimate and sensitive the spot was.
