Building The Strongest Family-Chapter 40: Grand Blueprint [ 1 ]
Chapter 40: Grand Blueprint [ 1 ]
Arthur finally tore his gaze away from the impressive conference room, taking in the scene around him.
The large table was filled with individuals who exuded an air of authority and dignity, as if they were all owed something.
It was evident that this gathering was no ordinary meeting; the attendees were seasoned professionals, mostly in their forties or fifties, each carrying a wealth of experience.
"Bureau Head Derrick, allow me to introduce Mr. Osborn," Olivia said with a respectful bow toward the distinguished man at the head of the table.
Bureau Head Derrick appeared to be in his fifties, sporting gray hair and a square jaw that gave him a stern yet dignified presence.
Arthur's curiosity piqued as he observed Derrick, thoughts racing through his mind.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Bureau Head. I've heard so much about you," Arthur greeted warmly, offering a polite smile while locking eyes with Derrick.
"Nice to meet you too, Arthur. Please take a seat," Derrick replied amiably, gesturing toward an empty chair on his left.
"Thank you," Arthur said with a smile as he made his way to the seat, nodding and smiling at those around him.
However, he couldn't shake off the feeling of some hostile gazes directed at him, a surprise that didn't show on his face as he maintained his composure.
The room was filled with top figures from various departments within the Urban Development and Construction Bureau: Environmental Sustainability, Utilities and
Energy, Housing and Residential Development, the list went on. Each department head brought their own expertise to this crucial discussion.
"Arthur," Bureau Head Derrick began after a brief silence. "I'll get straight to the point, I'm sure you have an inkling as to why we called you here."
Arthur nodded knowingly; upon receiving the call from the Urban Development and Construction Bureau, he had already pieced together their intentions.
"It's about the development of 1.08 million square kilometers of land," Arthur stated confidently.
"Yes," Derrick confirmed with a nod. "Your family's land is situated right in the heart of this development zone.
While it may be small in size, its strategic location makes it incredibly valuable.
We need to understand your plans for this land, whether you intend to develop it or sell it, and if you choose development, we must know your vision for its future."
Arthur listened intently as Derrick spoke, occasionally nodding in agreement while maintaining a serious demeanor.
He understood just how significant this land was, not only economically but also socially and politically for Neo-Luminara.
As Arthur prepared to share his thoughts on potential developments, he was abruptly interrupted by a discontented voice from across the table.
"Bureau Head," sneered a man in his forties whose shrewd expression radiated disdain, "we all know about the Osborn Family's situation; they lack both capability and resources for such development."
Arthur turned to face the man who had spoken, and he immediately recognized him as someone in his forties.
The man's shrewd gaze was filled with disdain and mockery, making Arthur's skin crawl.
Narrowing his eyes, Arthur felt a chill run down his spine as he realized that the malicious energy he sensed earlier was emanating from this very individual.
Despite the tension, Arthur maintained his composure and flashed a polite smile. "May I ask who you are?" he inquired.
"I'm Harrison, the head of the Department of Construction and Infrastructure," the man replied with a smirk that only deepened Arthur's unease.
"Department Head Harrison," Arthur said smoothly, "what makes you think my Osborn Family lacks the capability to develop that land?"
Harrison leaned back slightly, an air of superiority surrounding him. "Well, considering your family's recent bankruptcy, news that has certainly traveled fast, I find it hard to believe you have the resources necessary for such a project."
Arthur fell silent for a moment as he assessed Harrison.
It was clear now: this man had come here with an agenda.
What puzzled him most was that he couldn't recall ever crossing paths with Harrison before.
"Is it possible to offend someone without even knowing them?" Arthur thought inwardly as he locked eyes with his adversary.
"Department Head Harrison," Arthur began calmly, "it appears your information is outdated. My Osborn Family has made a remarkable recovery; our current challenges have been resolved. As I speak, we possess all the funds and resources needed to develop that land, so there's no cause for concern." He smiled amicably at Harrison.
"You...."
"Enough!" The voice of Head Bureau Derrick cut through the tension like a knife.
He shot a warning glance at Harrison, who quickly fell silent but not without a flash of malice directed at Arthur.
"Derrick turned his attention back to Arthur. "So you claim your family can indeed develop that land? Is that true?"
"Yes," Arthur affirmed quickly.
"Great! What do you plan to build there? Care to share?" Derrick asked with genuine curiosity.
"Of course!" Arthur responded enthusiastically while gesturing toward Derrick's table. "May I?"
With an encouraging nod from Derrick, Arthur stood up and approached the laptop on the table.
He retrieved a blue flash drive and plugged it in; fortunately, it was already connected to a 3D projector mounted on the wall.
With just a few taps on the keyboard, an impressive blue 3D projection sprang to life, a detailed blueprint instantly captivating everyone in the conference room.
Even Derrick's eyes widened in amazement as they scanned over what appeared on screen.
"Did you design this yourself?" Derrick asked incredulously.
"Yes, Head Bureau Derrick," Arthur replied confidently (even if it wasn't entirely true). "I spent an entire month crafting this design."
"I never expected you to be so talented in architecture! Your design is absolutely fabulous!" Derrick exclaimed, admiration shining in his eyes.
"Thank you for the compliment, sir," Arthur replied with a modest smile.
Derrick leaned forward, curiosity piqued. "So, can you explain what you're planning to do with that land?"
Arthur's smile widened as he cleared his throat. "Head Bureau Derrick, what I envision for this 10,000 square kilometers of land is nothing short of an ultra-modern, world-class mega commercial plaza."
A stunned silence enveloped the room as everyone processed Arthur's ambitious proposal.
"Wait, are you really saying you're going to transform this entire area into a commercial plaza?" Derrick asked, taking a deep breath and fixing a serious gaze on Arthur.
"Yes, sir. That's my intention," Arthur confirmed with unwavering determination.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you have any idea how much funding, resources, and time it will take to turn that land into a commercial plaza? With the resources of your small family? I bet you won't even come close in decades!" Harrison scoffed, looking at Arthur as if he were foolish.
The others nodded in agreement; their skepticism was palpable. Even Derrick subtly acknowledged
Harrison's words, though they stung, many shared similar doubts.
While they recognized that 10,000 square kilometers might seem manageable on paper, the enormity of transforming it into a bustling commercial hub felt overwhelmingly daunting.
But Arthur remained undeterred by Harrison's mockery; his focus was locked onto Derrick.
Deep down, he knew this revelation would shock everyone in the room, even he had reservations about its feasibility. Yet Evolon had assured him it was possible!
The prospect of generating staggering annual revenue from such an enterprise was incredibly tempting; according to Evolon's simulations, completing this mega-city level commercial plaza could yield hundreds of trillions each year!
Imagine, a vibrant center combining business, entertainment, tourism, and residential spaces that could attract billions annually!
Arthur stood at the front of the conference room, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Ladies and gentlemen," he began, taking a deep breath to steady himself, "if my research and calculations are correct, transforming this 10,000 square kilometers of land into a mega city-level commercial plaza could attract nearly 30 billion visitors annually to Neo-Luminara alone!" His voice resonated as he scanned the faces in the room, gauging their reactions.
Derrick leaned forward, concern etched on his face. "I understand your vision, Arthur. However, while you own this land and can do as you please, it's situated right in the heart of our development zone. If not managed properly, it could hinder progress for everyone involved. Can you assure us that you possess the capabilities to execute such an ambitious plan?"
Arthur nodded confidently. "Absolutely! The Osborn Family has more than enough resources and expertise to make this happen." He gestured toward a stunning blueprint displayed behind him.
