Building My SSS-Rank Universal Empire: From Trash to Cosmic Overlord-Chapter 110: Getting beaten
Aria shook her head and giggled. "He was always so arrogant, but I never thought he would fall to a simple trick like that. Dead by getting beaten!"
"Huh... I’m the one that killed him," Ryker pointed out. "Don’t forget to let everyone know that. And that bastard with the corrupting power isn’t easy either."
The reason why they held such a view of Kae was because, during their assassin training, Kae was known as the untouchable. His power was so formidable that no one was able to properly touch him since he could just repel them away.
It made others angry, how was it even proper fighting when they couldn’t land a hit? But that made him a deadly assassin, and they all respected and envied his strength.
Aria crouched by the shield, her essence senses swiping through. "It seems they’re really passed out. They better not die,I want to kill one of them myself. Let me try that explosion as he suggested."
Her right hand cracked and bulged, the flesh ripped away and fused with the long fangs that emerged.
Ryker looked at it and shivered her own construct was in the form of a parasite that she had to eat. It was what gave her power.
She ripped out one of the fangs, and it lit up with green fire. Then she placed it at the base of the shield and moved back a few feet. Within seconds, the smokeless fire consumed the fang, and it exploded.
KaBaam!
Dust and debris flew up, and when it settled, a section of the shield had been punched through. A plume of black smoke started rising from the remaining shield as it slowly evaporated since Slya wasn’t awake to maintain it.
Aria gestured to the opening. "Men first."
Ryker scowled and walked towards the shield, his body covered in hard red light. He crouched by the opening and dragged Slya out by the hair and Tiber by one of his broken hands.
Aria joined him in crouching. "What do you think? Should I skin her and then bleach her bones so I can use them for my explosions?"
Ryker gave her a look. "You only use monster bones for that."
He raised his sword above Tiber and was about to stab him in the head when his sword suddenly became heavy, followed by his body, and he was yanked backward.
Aria jumped away in time, but the area still affected her. Her winged hand monstrosity dragged painfully to the ground and cracked it. She hissed, turning angry eyes to the culprit. How did he get so close without me knowing?
Xan loomed above Ryker, holding a sword with three blades warped together in his left hand. His left arm hung limp at his side, and he looked as if he would pass out at any moment, but his eyes burned with determination.
"Die!" he cried out with a cracking voice.
Ryker’s brief moment of surprise disappeared, and he smirked. The hard light around him splintered and then blew forward like a whirlwind.
Most of it was dragged down, but some enveloped Xan like a cocoon of blades, piercing through his body and sending him back. Blood splattered from his wounds as he hit the ground with a thud.
With the effect of heaviness lifted, Ryker stood up, his face molded in anger, his eyes like razors. "You’re already dead with that last technique. All those tiny blades are now destroying you internally, but nothing will bring me more joy than having your head while you’re still alive."
"Then I’ll have my fun here," Aria said, moving closer to Slya and Tiber’s bodies.
Ryker grunted in reply. He lifted his sword to cut off Xan’s head when a red fireball suddenly bloomed in front of him. It was small too, like a wisp.
"Huh?"
Then the fireball vanished and was replaced by a man standing half-naked. His green eyes were like uncut gems, and his black hair was a mane of darkness behind him.
Ryker recognized him immediately. He’d seen portraits. ’This is Vale! But he’s supposed to be dead... that means?’
Vale threw the head in his hand to the ground. He ignored Ryker and Aria’s gasp as he quickly crouched beside Xan. With a quick essence scan, he knew Xan was the one who needed immediate attention.
He cradled Xan’s head and brought out potions from his ring. He pried his bloody mouth open and poured the liquid down his throat. Immediately, it started taking effect, his eyes flickered.
And he spoke through a dry throat. "Is that you, Vale?"
"Issh... save your strength for healing. Don’t talk."
"Hey! Are you ignoring me?" Ryker said, and he immediately slashed with his sword. The space between him and Vale suddenly exploded with a red fire wave that rolled with shimmering heat.
Ryker grunted and retreated, moving back. His shield protected him from the fire, but he still felt the heat.
Aria joined him, but she was staring at the head on the ground. "Two of us already died? This never happened before."
"Of course not," Ryker snapped. "Let’s kill him together. He’s like the strongest one among them."
She shrugged. "It’ll be easy. I haven’t gone all out since... huh?"
A small fireball suddenly came into her view, sent from Vale. The fire paused for an instant and then vanished.
Ryker shouted and jumped away.
But she didn’t understand, until Vale was standing in front of her. His hand snapped out and gripped her by the neck. He drew her close, his eyes like hardened green fire. "Are you the one that did that to them?"
She shook and struggled, her eyes bulging, nails digging into his hand.
"Well, no matter," Vale said.
And then red fire roared out of his hand. It flared around her as she was engulfed. She had no chance to scream as her lungs were crushed. Skin melted off flesh, and bones burned to ashes.
Vale shook his nose as the charred smell made it itch. "You are the last one."
Ryker looked at him in horror and then turned towards Xan.
The two of them reached the same conclusion at once, and Ryker turned, lurching towards the man. He heard an explosion behind him, but he didn’t turn or wait. ’His life depended on it!’
But he was stopped cold as his shield shattered and something pierced his stomach from behind. Pain blinded him, and he shouted out. A bloody hand, holding some of his guts, jutted out from his abdomen.
The hand retreated, but he felt it moving inside him.
Then he heard a voice so close to his ears.
"It’s a shame that you won’t be able to tell me later how it feels to be burned from the inside."
