Just as Das took the baby from Stella, he heard approaching foot steps. It was rhythmic as the soldiers marched.
The air was thick with tension as Das cradled the baby in his arms, the innocence of the child a stark contrast to the charged atmosphere around him. The rhythmic footsteps of approaching soldiers reverberated through the estate, signaling the arrival of a new player in this high-stakes game.
General Harries Singh, a figure of authority and military prowess, emerged into view. His uniform, adorned with medals that spoke of his valor and achievements, commanded respect. Behind him, a contingent of ten soldiers moved with disciplined precision, their expressions stern and unyielding.
"That’s General Harries Singh." Maria leaned in, her voice a whisper.
The General, with a posture that bespoke his years of command, approached Das. "Mr. Das, You seem to enjoy your holiday trip. I need to speak with you privately, right now" he stated, his tone brooking no argument.

Das, unfazed, continued to hold the baby. "First, remove the army camp surrounding my villa and apologize to the Abdullah family patriarch, then I may consider your request." he responded, his voice calm but laced with authority.
The General’s expression shifted to one of surprise, taken aback by Das’s unflinching demeanor. It was a rare occurrence for anyone to challenge his authority so openly.
"General, didn’t we say these local thugs are stubborn? We can control them only by force. Give the command, and we’ll have him subdued in under a minute." A soldier from behind the General, unable to contain his frustration, spoke out.
General Singh raised his hand, silencing the soldier. His eyes, however, remained fixed on Das. "Mr. Das, please understand the gravity of the situation. Show some respect for the soldiers who defend this country. This is a matter of national importance.
I urge you to reconsider."
Das’s gaze was unyielding, his voice firm. "You mistake my patience for weakness, General. If it were anyone else who surrounded my villa, they would not be standing now. Respect is earned, and it’s mutual. First, remove your soldiers. Then we’ll talk."
The standoff continued, the air crackling with unspoken threats and defiance. The soldiers, loyal to the General, waited for his command, their hands resting on their weapons, ready to act at a moment’s notice.
General Singh, weighed his options. He knew that any misstep could escalate the situation beyond control. His gaze shifted from Das to the baby and then back to Das, a silent acknowledgment of the complex dynamics at play.
"Very well, Mr. Das," the General finally conceded, signaling to his soldiers. "We’ll relocate the camp. But this conversation is far from over." General Singh said as he turned around.
As the soldiers began to withdraw, the tension in the air eased, but the undercurrents of conflict remained. Das watched them leave, his expression unreadable. The baby, oblivious to the power play unfolding, cooed softly in his arms.
In the world of underground politics and military might, respect was a currency more valuable than gold. The chessboard was set, and the pieces were in motion. The next move would determine the fate of more than just the players involved. The game had just begun.
After the tense standoff with General Singh, Das stepped into the grandeur of the Abdullah family palace. Following a brief respite to freshen up, he summoned everyone to the expansive dining hall, where a lavish feast was arranged to celebrate his return and to make an important announcement.
The long, ornate dining table was a spectacle in itself, laden with an array of exquisite dishes that represented the culinary pinnacle of Mumbai’s rich cuisine. The air was filled with the aromas of spices and delicacies, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and festivity.

As Das entered the dining hall, with the baby still cradled in his arms, the room buzzed with excitement. His entourage, comprising mostly of his girlfriends, lined up along the table, their expressions a mix of curiosity and admiration.
Before anyone could begin eating, Das introduced the two Sylvester family princesses. "I’d like you all to welcome our guests," he announced, gesturing towards them. The princesses, still adjusting to the vibrancy of the outside world, greeted everyone with a mixture of shyness and grace.
Das then turned his attention to his girlfriends, inquiring about their activities during his absence. The responses were varied, a blend of personal achievements and mundane updates, but all conveyed a sense of loyalty and dedication to Das.
As the conversation flowed, Das’s expression grew serious. "Before I make my announcement, if anyone has any concerns or problems, please feel free to meet me afterward. I’m here for all of you."
He paused, his gaze sweeping across the table, taking in the faces of those who had been a part of his journey. "I might be leaving the palace in a few days and won’t be back for a long time."
A hush fell over the dining hall at his words. The lively atmosphere dimmed, as the reality of his impending departure sank in.
Cradling the baby, who was now playfully chewing on his cheek, Das continued, "From now onwards, I want all of you to stay inside the palace. My enemies are growing in number and power. They might target those close to me, and I cannot risk your safety."
The concern in his voice was evident, and the seriousness of his words weighed heavily on everyone present. The realization that their lives were intertwined with the dangerous world of Das’s affairs was a sobering thought.
Luna, her voice tinged with worry, spoke up. "But Das, what about our families, our friends?"
Das met her gaze, his expression resolute. "Your safety is my priority. I’ll ensure that your families are taken care of and that you lack for nothing. But the palace must be your sanctuary soon. Try to relocate here as soon as possible. "
Ria, her eyes filled with unspoken fear, added, "We understand, Das. We’ll do as you say. Just... just be safe out there."
"I have one more important thing to say." Das said as he stood up from the cahir.
