Chapter 1648: UP The Voltage! (3)

As Fulgardt’s tempering with Ju`wtte grew even more horrifying, with tendrils of the lightning growing and spiraling in every direction, Skullius’ panic heightened, infecting his urgency even more. Something big was coming and he had to be prepared for it.

...Yet, he couldn’t help but think.

What had accelerated his thoughts just moments ago, forcing an awakening in many of the experts on the battlefield was the |Greater Cosmic Law|. It had to be. His Maximum Jaqquezjaqqz confirmed it. As it happened, Skullius had comprehended part of this law – an impossibility. That’s why he was on track to doing the impossible.

But then he also realized – because of that burst of Litte from earlier – that he was an impossibility as well, a cheat.

He wasn’t supposed to exist – at least not as a Null Lifeform. But here he was.

It was all because of Serenity’s will and VOW’s bias.

So, what did this mean?

BZZZZT!

As strokes of golden lightning smashed against the space around him, Skullius steered the impossible into reality – or at least the first hurdle to an impossibility.

Weaver sprang into action just as Red Rage looked inward.

And then...

[You have chosen a Class for Apostle ’Eternity’s Weaver’!]

[Because of the immense potential and status of your Apostle, bonuses apply!]

[Processing...]

[Processing...]

[Apostle ’Eternity’s Weaver’ becomes ’Soul Nullmancer’!]

There it was. Skullius had not chosen a Class for Weaver earlier, and that had turned out to be for the best.

But that wasn’t all.

[Rank 1 Apostle ’Red Rage’ is making a choice from your selection of evolutionary options...]

Red Rage, after acquiring the First Rank amongst all of Skullius’ Apostles, obtained the ability to choose the name and race of the next Apostle Skullius summoned. (Indeed, he could view the options Skullius was given by the guidance field.)

(A/N: Refer to Ch.1401.)

But that wasn’t all still.

"No. I refuse," declared Araeyn through his mental link with Skullius.

The reaction didn’t surprise Skullius one bit. Araeyn was Araeyn, after all.

Like Weaver, Araeyn didn’t have a Class, and in order to exploit every loophole possible in order to create his new Apostle, Skullius wanted to grant him the Nullmancer Class as well. But he refused. He wouldn’t waste his Class for another Apostle.

That was fine, though. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

’Finish it now!’ Skullius commanded Red Rage and Weaver. As he did, he made his own choice from the five options available in front of him on the guidance field. He did so while grasping for that concept Unnio Lak had explained – the basic premise behind Nullmancy.

The process involves the Nullmancer sharing the essence they generate through their ownership of a Nullmancer Class – which is divided into ten portions, of course – with a felled enemy, raising them as a pseudo-obedient unit that follows them, Unnio Lak had explained.

(A/N: Refer to Ch.1433.)

For the first time since becoming a Nullmancer, Skullius felt this essence Unnio Lak had referenced. Only five portions of it remained inside him, and as he attempted to raise Nunax’s corpse as another unit, he felt one portion slide out of him with an intention – an instruction to imbue the racial properties of the Supreme Qualifier Amamm. But before it could completely fuse with Nunax, Weaver jumped in.

The Primordial Nulliergrapher immediately used his newly acquired skill, [Apostle Summon] and drafted one of the ten portions of essence brewing inside of him into the (larger) throbbing portion Skullius had just released.

He was a unique being. According to Unnio Lak, Weaver was likely the reincarnation of a long-departed Nulliergrapher, which would explain why he knew so much despite being ’new’. Null Lifeforms never truly died if they lived in the Null Verse, after all. They entered a Cycle.

(A/N: Refer to Ch.1434-1436.)

Weaver could access the evolutionary options stationed in front of Skullius as well. Despite being a weaker Nullmancer, he infused an instruction into his portion of essence while drawing from everything he knew about the Cabbaline Chalice of Exceedance and Exodus. He would know, of course, since the Nulliergraphers knew the Null Verse more than most.

...And then there was Red Rage. He chose another option just as the others made their own: the Maverick Wafer.

But an error occurred.

How could Skullius and Red Rage make different choices for the same corpse?

The guidance field was having trouble fathoming the event. It was... unusual.

But Skullius had considered this. He played another card; he used a piece of <Counsel>. His last.

Instead of asking VOW a question, though, he made a demand:

"Make this work for me. You’ve got Serenity’s best interests at heart, right?"

...

Indeed, VOW did.

[Congratulations! You have summoned your fifth Apostle!]

[A carcass of extraordinary Divine quality has been detected!]

[Impossible circumstances detected!]

[Impossible circumstances detected!]

[Impossible circumstances detected!]

[Impossible circumstances detected!]

[You are fusing the conflicting, stubborn characteristics of three ancient species of the Null Verse into one!]

[There is an impossibly low chance of subjugating the result. Do you wish to continue?]

It was a no-brainer! Skullius decided to be greedy.

’Just do it!’

[Processing...]

Nunax’s corpse shed away its feminine outline and became a burst of incomprehensible energies. It was a cataclysm never before seen in this Reality.

No Nullmancer had so much as dared to accomplish a feat like this!

It was an impossibility.

...But Fulgardt was thinking the impossible as well. He witnessed the flashing light allied with Skullius and cackled.

The Ju`wtte in his hands fired even more ferociously, and then it smashed into Weaver, Ferex, Red Rage, Araeyn, the new Apostle, Suzamete, and the Liches. It rejected them all, driving them away from his people of interest.

The only one to reject the rejection among the nine targets... was Skullius’ new Apostle. It remained by Skullius’ side, firm and immovable – at least until it completed its shape.

’No matter...’ thought Fulgardt, dyed in the shadow of the PHANTASMIC RETAINER above him – the Gajjkav.

It truly didn’t matter.

With a harsh tug of the Ju`wtte he was handling like a giant, chaotic lasso, he ensnared Skullius, Boron, Listafelle and Quintess!

...And then it pulled them towards the gateway he had created. The Deities and the anomaly were in no condition to stop the Immoral right then. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

’Where...!’ Skullius thought, but then it dawned on him, filling him with horror.

...!!!

That was Fulgardt’s plan? But why?!

The answer eluded the Sovereign of Refined Anarchy. He could only stress over everyone he was leaving behind with the Liches, all of whom Fulgardt had decided to exclude.

Against those monsters, there was no way they could survive.

It was true indeed. However...

"GRANT ME THE CHANCES!"

A boisterous voice called from above, bringing forth a giant dark cloud that hid and sustained human experts and powerful beasts.

Unexpected allies had descended with impeccable timing!

They were...
