Bro, I'm not an Undead!-Chapter 1647: UP The Voltage! (2)
Weaver was the last individual to be graced by Litte. He might have been mortal, but his species was not of a mortal caliber by design. He understood greater concepts beyond the norm even now, and when the Absolute Sun shone, he too licked up its benefits – even if what he got was less than what everyone else on the battlefield gained.
With the acceleration of his imagination, he managed to utilize his Null Life Essence stores even better than before. He unfroze the other Apostles and created complex, frozen seals around their Null sources (what they had in place for souls). Now, even though Quintess’ Zu’sse was amplified, they could withstand it while remaining conscious and moving.
To be sure, their bodies were breaking with each step, but as long as the true essence of their existence remained intact, they could withstand the damage for a while.
Thus, Ferex, Red Rage and Araeyn were soaring after Skullius and Weaver with Nunax in tow. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
...But sadly, Kenno remained frozen. Weaver couldn’t find an answer to keeping him alive, especially since he was unconscious and in a terrible, feeble state. His fate was...
<You changed my destiny, Parrhaya!> Boron screamed joyfully right then. He made himself as immense in size as his counterpart and boldly rushed towards him, bashing his shoulder into him.
Quintess’ Zu’sse violated Boron’s skin, but no more than that. He was resisting it.
...Still, Quintess didn’t let him off. With a swift move, he used Zu’sse Conch to blast Boron back. He needed a little time to harmonise his Broader Existence, part of which had been compromised. It was a delicate affair; without treading lightly, there could be fatal consequences to having one’s Broader Existence transmuted into something stiff and inflexible.
Boron was relentless. He recovered quickly and summoned his halberd to him with a simple gesture. <Direction, fate and faith are all quintessential to Deities, right? You taught me a real good lesson there! I never imagined I would use it! The surging faith of lesser beings can magnify a Deity’s powers, right? Ah! What did I know? You made me taste the opposite of that for so long!>
<What are you babbling about?> Listafelle hissed, flashing between Quintess and Boron.
The latter was dismissive of her. <Get out of the way! You aren’t qualified to be here!>
"Look who’s talking!"
The Liches joined in the screaming match. Souran was thoroughly hyped.
"Keep bellowing amongst yourselves just like that, and we’ll reap you effortlessly!" Soizar called. His Knights were rallying, surging with innovation. They had new Undeath tricks.
Indeed, the Deities couldn’t understand what the Liches were saying, but it sounded annoying and incendiary all the same. Tensions flared. With Quintess’ temporarily incapacitated, everyone else was getting the chance to surge.
Skullius wouldn’t be left behind.
He had already activated the function of Apostle’s Liege. As the Sovereign of Refined Anarchy, his Insurgent Magnus and Nullmancer powers were seamlessly merged, thus even while using the War Body, he had access to their individual properties.
’If I don’t shape up now, it’s over. This better work. As long as I get the edge over Fulgardt...’ Skullius thought, weathering through the hellish agony throbbing from his mangled body.
Nunax’s corpse was suffused with light and once again, before Skullius, the powers of extinct species in the Null Verse popped up through the guidance field.
Supreme Qualifier Amamm.
Polished Future Vexxacan Nugget.
Refulgent Meandering Throngrra.
Cabbaline Chalice of Exceedance and Exodus.
Maverick Wafer.
His plan was to use more than one of these and apply them onto the prepared corpse.
One of the species he wanted, the Cabbaline Chalice, had a requirement that its master was supposed to have Focused Null Life Ota, which was why Skullius had pursued it so desperately. He wasn’t yet proficient at using it, but now, that hurdle had been crossed at least. Now, only challenge remained.
Because all these species far outclassed him in strength, he had very low chances of subduing them.
There was only a 0.45% chance when it came to the Amamm; 1.23% for the Nugget; 9.65% for the Throngrra; 2.45% for the Chalice, and 0.224% for the Wafer.
On top of this nightmare, combining more than one of these species like Skullius wanted was essentially multiplying the difficulty of subjugating the result.
’Flesh it! I need this!’ Skullius thought.
But how did he plan to choose multiple species for Nunax’s corpse?
Easy!
"Weaver! Red Rage...!"
Skullius had just called his Apostles and sent out instructions through his mental connection to them when something unexpected happened. Well, perhaps it wasn’t entirely unexpected.
BZZ! BZZZT!
...
...
Enlightened Ju`wtte sparked from Skullius’ Ju`wtta and poured out in tremendous volumes.
This wasn’t the Sovereign’s doing.
A great distance away, Fulgardt had his hand outstretched towards Skullius, murmuring:
"Reach."
...And the Enlightened Ju`wtte quivered and streamed towards him – all of it!
Fulgardt caught the entire throng of it in his hands, as though it were some glowing lasso. He had a good handle on it. It was as though he were a Discount Warmoth with the way he skillfully tamed it.
...!
Skullius’ scowled. ’You really did have your eyes on it! But why, dammit?!’
He’d sensed the intent when he’d drowned in Fulgardt’s being.
How the Immoral was capable of this feat, Skullius could only imagine that it was because of the burst of Litte and his Mastered Void Gate Aspect. Yes. Yes, it was rather powerful, even more so than Aurolio’s and Uyuniya’s.
But there was hardly time for speculation. It was a race against time, and Fulgardt was already in the lead.
’It’s as malleable as I thought. Versatile too, even if very difficult to handle,’ thought Fulgardt, his face contorting behind the Bare Guise. The monstrous amount of Ju`wtte in his hands was trying to wrestle out of his grip, but he owned it.
Unlike regular Ju`wtte, this kind – Enlightened Ju`wtte – was a mix of Ju`wtte and [Just Light]. It was far more versatile and much easier for him to wield (after all the outrageous things he’d done to be able to steal it, that is). He stretched it out into thronging shapes with his hands and juiced it up so much with concentrated his [Just Light] that it cast a blinding glare across Aigas.
The show attracted the attention of the other combatants.
Yet another one of them was going crazy!
Skullius cursed. ’What the hell...!’
Fulgardt grinned.
’The brat tied my soul to Aigas. If I try to leave, I will almost immediately be pulled back here,’ he thought. ’That’s even more of a debilitating factor than Quintess’ Zu’sse. However, I’ll get there one way or another. And to make things even more interesting...!’
The Immoral did two things in rapid succession.
First, he summoned a PHANTASMIC RETAINER – the strongest one, Gajjkav!
He didn’t have any uses for them until now. Instead of pouring one of the Seeds of the Fruit of World Myths in the Retainer, however, he imbued something else into it.
...And then condensed Skullius’ Ju`wtte into his right hand and stabbed into the fabric of space. Ju`wtte sprayed in every direction, slowly opening... a gate.
...!!!!
Skullius nearly bit his lips off. He couldn’t believe it!
Fulgardt’s intention compelled him to work faster!
Lucky for him, his Apostles understood the assignment, Weaver moreso. He recalled the knowledge Skullius was using as reference for what he wanted done: knowledge obtained from a keeper of the Universal Purge Banner, Unnio Lak.
