Bro, I'm not an Undead!-Chapter 1645: The Acceleration Incident (6)
The short-lived burst of Litte was celebrated by many Deities. The less prodigious ones among them used it to get over mental blocks, bottlenecks and speed run bringing to fruition vague ideas they had been developing over many Consternals. The geniuses, on the other hand, used their Deific abilities to comprehend Litte to a minuscule extent. Accomplishing this was an investment – the rewards would reveal themselves in the future.
But it wasn’t only the living who benefited from the Litte. Even those who had just perished – Deities, mostly – found a chance to reignite the embers of their lives, sustaining themselves once more.
How so?
Well, the Immors was accelerated. Life and death were temporarily voided of any strict ’end’ in that small window where the Absolute Sun was revealed.
It was a miracle. But even greater miracles were brewing on worlds, Rich or ordinary.
On the former, which tended to house Divine beings, gifted ascended denizens were bypassing AKHASHA’s restrictions to immortality. The Primeval Deity had used his profound knowledge of Conste to put a cap on the guarantee of immortality that Divinity was supposed to give those who ascended.
...But Litte accelerated both Conste and Immors, allowing wizened rebels to slip. Many broke free from AKHASHA’s grip.
In smaller worlds, however, where it was rare for denizens to reach Divinity, innovation was at an all-time high, and quick-witted Deities exploited the acceleration to develop ways to improve the strength of their creations.
It was a miracle, indeed. But would it serve Fulgardt as he wished?
...
The Immoral cracked his knuckles. ’Brilliant but still lacking. This is far from the voltage I was expecting. That window was lukewarm. Not nearly enough to breach through everything.’ He gnashed his teeth as Quintess’ Zu’sse resumed its unbridled, crushing press on him. But still, he was elated. ’No matter. There’s another place I know rich with Litte!’
A distance away, Skullius was mobilizing the remaining bits of Null Life Essence Weaver had sent him.
He was doing it.
He was forging Focused Null Life Ota!
The nodes for its creation had already been established within him, but there had been two major problems, one which he realized belatedly: it cost an atrocious amount of Null Life Essence to produce a single unit of Focused Null Life Ota, and even a single unit of it was terribly difficult to control. It was like trying to juggle ten pins with half a hand.
...But Litte had been Skullius’ cure. The acceleration helped him find a way to distribute and manipulate Focused Null Life Ota properly – at least the two units of it that he was able to generate in that moment. They amounted to perhaps a teaspoon’s worth of energy.
Yet the richness of that amount was staggering.
’Flesh me...’ Skullius thought.
At the very centre of the node Weaver had created, a single drop of Focused Null Life Ota was moving rapidly in a formation that resembled a hexagonal shape.
What was its colour? Skullius couldn’t tell.
What was its consistency? Texture? Who knew?! It was about as hard to define as the Broader Existence of another expert!
But it was there.
’To use it...’ Skullius strained in thought.
He didn’t get to finish mulling over that part.
<Zu’sse Conch.>
...!!!!
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Fulgardt, Skullius, Soizar, Souran and Boron were smashed through by invisible, whipping blows!
Quintess had merely adopted an unshakeable stance, squaring his legs and pushing his palm forth, but he landed a blow on each of his enemies at the exact same time. A fatal blow.
Souran and Soizar’s ships were violently blown apart while the Liches themselves were obliterated at an atomic level.
Boron’s torso was busted in, and it ruptured as though blasted by a massive cannonball.
Fulgardt’s body was ripped apart. It looked like wood chips from the chest down with how much it broke down from the blow.
...But Skullius fared much better than the rest. In fact, aside from being sent flying back a dozen kilometers, he was pretty much fine.
He’d withstood a blow from Zu’sse, even if it was from a distance. It was no mere miracle, however.
’Focused Null Life Ota. That’s what it can do, huh?’ he thought, heart racing so wildly that you would have thought the Litte had accelerated it too.
Quintess narrowed his eyes. The burst of Litte had done him favors as well.
He was a rare talent. One of the few in this Reality with an immense affinity towards Zu’sse that allowed them to tap into it before even creating a world. The only reason Quintess utilized the Spirit Wardens of Aigas to unleash his Zu’sse now, was simply because Zu’sse had one caveat: it could only be used perfectly with the user’s original body.
It was shared between the Broader Existence and a Deity’s original flesh. Thus, to gain access to it again while within a borrowed vessel, Quintess had to cycle his Amras through the souls of the denizens of Aigas.
Regardless of all this – or perhaps because of it – Quintess wasn’t too experienced with Zu’sse. He hardly used it most of the time. The Aspire to Divine had many, many alternatives to use in combat, after all. They dulled his expertise with Zu’sse.
...But the Litte had enlightened him, changing that.
Zu’sse Conch was one technique he’d devised.
<It’s not as effective on enemies of this caliber, I see.> Quintess thought.
Indeed, Zu’sse Conch had killed no one. In fact, everyone was grinning after the attempt.
The Arch-Liches were hard to kill. They used the Quasi Immors Soul Arts to reassemble themselves. It was impossible to get rid of them without destroying their phylacteries.
Boron was grinning. His body knitted itself together as his Amras flared. Quintess didn’t know how he avoided debilitating damage at the very least. Something was up. The bastard pierced the head of his halberd into the ground. Was he mad? Why was he leaving his weapon?
Fulgardt was barking with laughter. He had used a combination of Crude World Projection and Crude World Injection to survive.
While embodying Seramoro, his physical body was mostly made of [Evil Darkness]. Using Crude World Projection, he manipulated every bit of himself back in place as an external Projection while Crude World Injection kept his body lively and tense – prepared for more blows.
<They are all insane. Radical idealists.> thought Quintess. <I will end them all here before their madness reaches our work in the wider Reality.>
It was possible for the current Quintess. He had learned more than just Zu’sse Conch.
When he made his next move, everyone paled. The individual possibility of survival suddenly became 0,00003%!
<Zu’sse Perelinn.>
....!!!!!!
Suzamete was the first to panic in kind. Her vessel – the sixth Fruit Bearer she’d had to inhabit since they kept dying – cried out desperately:
<LUSERUS!>
...And then it happened.
’What the—!’ Skullius saw his life flash before his eyes. As did Fulgardt.
Every soul on the battlefield felt it. Something with the same edge as a razor-sharp hook snagged into their very souls and sharply pulled. All of a sudden, the anomalies, the Liches and Boron were dragged over to Quintess! 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The Zu’sse-using Deity was steps ahead. Indeed, he meant to eliminate them all.
...Thus, he increased his size fivefold and cocked back his arm. The Zu’sse flared at the absolute summit of output he could expel.
Then, when all his enemies – Fulgardt, Skullius, Souran, Soizar and Boron – smashed against each other and piled up in one place over the ocean, he unleashed a single pulverizing blow that compelled Aigas to flee in all directions lest it wanted a taste of his wrath too!

For reference towards what a phylactery in this series is, refer to Ch.1179.
Long story short though, it’s the true essence of Liches and Arch-Liches.
