Chapter 586: 322 Charlotte Miller, not now_2

Charlotte Miller is doing reasonably well, but Atlas Hallow is working overtime every day. In the past six months, Flix Hallow has planted quite a few of his trusted aides, and these diligent workers need to be dealt with. Plus, there are lingering issues that leave him hardly any time to properly rest.

After Annie Gray handed the last document to Charlotte Miller for signature, she smiled and said, "Are you going to Hallow Clan later?"

It was past quitting time, and it was rare to see Charlotte so punctual in changing clothes—a strappy camisole, wide-leg pants, and a light shawl thrown casually over her shoulders to guard against the strong air conditioning. Simple, sexy, and stunning enough to make someone want to whistle.

"Going to check on him." Charlotte signed her name on the document, closed it, and handed it to Annie. Her voice carried a hint of fatigue but remained clear and gentle.

Charlotte kept thinking about Avery Jane’s words. She truly seemed to take care of everyone except Atlas Hallow. Perhaps she assumed a man should naturally be good to a woman, but doesn’t he get tired too?

"Have fun." Annie chuckled and then turned around, carrying the documents out.

Charlotte stood up, slipped on her delicate flip-flops, took the elevator down to the parking lot, and got into the car.

By this time, the air outside was hot, while the car was air-conditioned, creating a stark contrast. Charlotte drove leisurely, considering what to bring to Atlas Hallow.

Going empty-handed didn’t seem right; since Avery Jane said she’s good at taking care of people, she should show some of her skills at caregiving.

Making a bento box would be the most heartfelt, but frankly, her cooking wasn’t good—she couldn’t cook as well as Atlas Hallow.

In movies and books, they say if it’s made by a lover, it’s incredibly delicious, but that’s a bit deceiving, isn’t it?

Because it truly doesn’t taste good, why must one feel obliged to find it tasty?

Given her cooking skills weren’t presentable, she decided to buy some food; she couldn’t cook for him but could at least earn money to buy food for him.

However, she perhaps should enroll in a cooking class; not having one or two signature dishes was a bit embarrassing.

She drove past the pizza shop and ordered a seafood combo with double cheese, a large portion of fries, a box of chicken wings, and two cups of cola, then headed towards the Hallow Clan office building.

Atlas Hallow’s return to Hallow Clan was certainly exciting, but the atmosphere was somewhat stern. After lazing around for so long, plus having those people implanted, the recent restructuring left everyone quite on edge.

The executives seemed to have endless meetings, each one marveling at Atlas Hallow’s remarkable stamina and energy.

Recently, Daniel Parker, who was staying late with Atlas Hallow, cautiously came in, hurried to Atlas, and whispered a couple of words.

Atlas Hallow’s previously cold and stern gaze suddenly softened.

His cold eyes scanned the anxious executives, his thin lips opened slightly as he said quietly, "You all continue the discussion, Daniel, you host it for me."

After leaving these words, his tall and upright figure briskly walked out of the meeting room.

His office also had the air conditioning cranked up, but since he wore formal attire at work, he didn’t feel too cold. She, however, quickly pulled her light shawl close, even her delicate toes in flip-flops seemed to want to hide within the wide pants.

"Why did you come?" Just as she was feeling the chill, his warm presence enveloped her from behind.

The days of hard work and countless tedious tasks seemed to dissolve at the sight of her, Atlas Hallow’s gaze became as clear as sunlight piercing through dense fog. His graceful smile, upon seeing her, curved into a captivating arc, slowly spreading like sunlight breaking through ice, warming the heart necessarily.

"Missed you." Charlotte Miller turned around and gently embraced Atlas Hallow, speaking softly against his chest.

"I missed you too, terribly..." That longing was truly hard to bear; as soon as he had a moment to sip coffee, the thought would come painfully. But there were many things he needed to resolve.

He didn’t want to shape Hallow Clan merely for economic benefits, but also for countless employees and many business partners relying on him for a better life. Therefore, no matter how much he missed her, he had to manage urgent matters first.

Yet he didn’t expect her to come voluntarily to see him. Atlas Hallow couldn’t help but hold her tighter, inhaling her alluring fragrance deeply, inexplicably relaxing.

This was the fragrance he was addicted to, wanting endlessly to breathe it in.

"I brought some food. The executives’ cafeteria at Hallow Clan is good, but how about a change in flavor?" Charlotte pointed at a heap of food on the table, saying with a smile to Atlas.

The two sat on the sofa. Charlotte opened the pizza box and took prepared wet wipes to clean Atlas Hallow’s hand: "You don’t seem to particularly like this, but it’s more caloric, so it might sustain you for longer. I splurged on extra cheese, which cost thirty-five bucks."

"When did you become a little penny-pincher? Thirty-five bucks made you feel like splurging?" Atlas laughed, picking up a pizza slice full of cheese, pulling long strands of it: "But you should feel happy—those thirty-five bucks weren’t spent in vain; there’s indeed quite a bit of cheese."

The pizza was reasonably good, and the iced cola seemed tasty too. Whether it was due to consecutive overtime without eating much or because the food was brought by her, Atlas Hallow found he somewhat liked the flavor.

"I’m not a penny-pincher; it’s to illustrate your importance in my heart." Charlotte flattered him, smiling with eyes curved.

"My importance in your heart? Worth thirty-five bucks?" Atlas Hallow’s laughter resonated from his broad chest. Her explanation ironically stirred his amusement.

"You didn’t count the delivery fees; coming all this distance, how much is it worth?" Charlotte took a big sip of cola, coldly hitting her stomach, feeling uncomfortable. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

She knelt semi on the sofa and then pulled open Atlas Hallow’s suit.

Was she actively undressing him?

"Charlotte, not now; I have a meeting going on..." Atlas Hallow swallowed hard, his voice turning hoarse. He’d partially attended a meeting and tasked Daniel with hosting temporarily; if he were to indulge in passion with Charlotte in the office now, these people would likely wait in the conference room until dawn.

"Why not now, where are your thoughts straying to? I just want your clothes, your air conditioning is too strong. After drinking a few sips of this cola, my stomach’s actually feeling too cold." Charlotte amusingly looked at Atlas Hallow, as if he thought she undressing was about passion?

An idea so far-fetched it’s both laughable and cryable...

"Did you just mislead me?" Atlas Hallow said while taking off his suit, laying it over Charlotte’s petite frame. Wearing his suit on her seemed to engulf her entirely, a small bundle curled up on the sofa, looking pitifully cute.
