Chapter 28: 026 What do you think his reaction was?

"Can I go home this weekend?" Charlotte Miller looked at him, noticing that he seemed to be in a good mood, and quickly brought up the matter. Luna Miller was back, and she had to see Luna. She was eager to know what had happened between Luna and Atlas Hallow that forced Luna to flee the marriage so unhesitatingly. Even if she was pressured, Atlas should be the type of man she fancied, handsome and capable of satisfying her endless shopping desires.

"Sure." Atlas Hallow looked at her, noticing she seemed somewhat cautious. Was he such a tyrant who would make returning home seem difficult for her?

Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief. Now she felt that marrying into the Hallow Family wasn’t so tragic after all. At least Atlas would agree to some of her requests, which surprised her.

However, Atlas discovered that her idea of going home for the weekend was completely different from his understanding.

On Saturday morning, Charlotte had a simple breakfast and happily went back to the Miller Family. Atlas was away on a short business trip for a couple of days and wasn’t at the Hallow Family home. Since after dinner the previous day, she had locked herself in her room, avoiding the evening walk, afraid to cause any trouble for herself at the Hallow Family. After all, Ava Walker was still living there, and she didn’t want a direct confrontation with this woman, even though Ava wasn’t threatening enough to her.

The war between women usually depends on which side the man stands, and in her battle with Ava, she was undoubtedly the victor, having won without even lifting a finger. But the greater the victory, the more necessary it was to avoid attention, and leaving early was the best choice.

The Sargent Family’s chauffeur from the Hallow Family drove her to the Miller Family’s doorstep, politely opening the car door and asked, "Madam, what time will you need to head back?"

"I’m staying at my family’s house tonight. I’ve already discussed it with Mr. Hallow; I’ll return by myself tomorrow." She had already spoken with Atlas about returning to her parental home over the weekend, which should include both Saturday and Sunday, right?

The driver listened to Charlotte’s words, watched her enter the Miller Family’s small villa, and then drove away.

Knowing that Charlotte was coming back today, the whole Miller Family was filled with joy. The atmosphere seemed to infect everything, with even the curtains and the large potted plants of peace lilies swaying lightly and joyfully in the wind.

The cook had been busy since early morning, preparing a few dishes that Charlotte liked.

Luna had returned home. Her room was filled with a young lady’s pink charm, even with pink rhinestones adorning her vanity mirror. Her phone was so hot from her call yet she was reluctant to put it down.

"Tonight, I’m going to sneak out. Your show is on TV tonight. I love watching you on television while..." The voice, as it lowered, carried an endless allure, epitomizing flirtatiousness.

On the other end of the line, Jack Smith faintly responded with a hum. However, he heard a woman’s clear and soft voice in the background, seemingly calling ’sister,’ which must be Luna’s younger sister. He had heard Luna mention her sister was a bookworm, apparently named Charlotte. From the voice over the phone, it truly had a calming and serene feel.

"I won’t talk to you anymore; wait for me tonight." Luna quickly hung up the phone. Her parents simply couldn’t agree with her and Jack Smith’s relationship; they had no desire for their daughter to marry a pop idol. To them, a young heartthrob was utterly worthless.

"Charlotte, you’re finally back. How’s life at the Hollow Family? You seem to be in good spirits." Seeing Charlotte standing intact before her, with a rosy complexion, Luna’s tiny bit of guilt finally vanished entirely. In fact, she never felt too guilty towards Charlotte because, initially, the Hallow Family was interested in the Miller daughter. It was just because Charlotte was abroad that they targeted her. By right, the Miller Family’s affairs were also Charlotte’s responsibilities.

"It’s okay." Charlotte looked at her sister, whom she hadn’t seen in two years, still as beautiful as ever. Luna’s beauty was of a bright, striking kind, akin to a blooming rose or the dazzling sun in July. No wonder Atlas Hallow wanted to marry a daughter of the Miller Family; was it because her sister’s beauty was sufficient?

Luna’s room was extraordinarily feminine; even her pajamas were pale pink, sheer enough to reveal an alluring figure, prompting Charlotte to blush slightly and then sit on the pink velvet loveseat in Luna’s room.

"Well, is Atlas Hallow really impotent?" Women’s intuition is undeniably accurate, and Luna trusted her own. Although Charlotte looked well, she lacked that certain glow that comes from a woman’s intimacy; she still bore the strong scent of girlhood. There are distinctions between a girl and a woman, differing not much in words but vastly in conduct.

"I don’t know." She truly didn’t know if Atlas had any physiological issues since they hadn’t yet consummated their marriage, but her feeling was that he shouldn’t have a problem. Charlotte was curious about how Luna knew such a thing.

"Sis, why would you say that?" Charlotte looked at Luna’s face, carrying a slight smile, as she walked up in front of her and spoke confidently, "I certainly needed to test it. Such a huge matter as marriage, if he had an issue, I’d end up a living widow, right?"

Luna sat down at the vanity beside the sofa, picked up a large brush, and ran it through her voluminous, wavy long hair, speaking with a captivating charm, "You don’t follow high society happenings, so naturally, you wouldn’t know. It’s not me who said Atlas Hallow might be impotent—this rumor has been around for a long time. Think about it, for a man of his stature, how is it possible he has no women? Yet he truly hasn’t had any scandals. Numerous women wanted a night with him, imagining a wild night, yet no one ever succeeded. Later, I confirmed it myself."

After brushing her hair, she picked up various bottles and jars from the table and began applying them meticulously, without skipping a step.

"When considering marriage, I set conditions. At least there had to be a ceremony, and I wanted to pick my preferred diamonds. He agreed to everything, and when we dined together, with no one in the private room, I locked the door, practically undressed sitting on his lap. Can you guess his reaction?" Mentioning this, Luna felt a sense of indignant injustice, as if she had been insulted.
