Bloodline of the Wizard-Chapter 53 - Embarrassment
Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Embarrassment
Chapter 53 -53 Embarrassment
Ronan sliced his black longsword along the exposed belly of the Two-headed Demon Lizard.
Like cutting open a water-filled leather pouch, a torrent of foul-smelling blood and viscera flowed down.
Occasionally meeting resistance, Ronan applied force.
Beneath the Magic Robe, his strong and perfect physique was like a Big Bow being drawn, the terrible strength transmitted through muscle, tendon, and bone, allowing the longsword to swiftly and smoothly continue downward…
“Huh?!”
As he was slicing, Ronan’s expression suddenly shifted.
He felt that the longsword, which had just been thrust into the belly of the Two-headed Demon Lizard, seemed to have cut through something, and he heard a faint crack.
Ronan thought for a moment, then started to cut a hole in the corresponding position on the belly of the Two-headed Demon Lizard with the longsword.
His primary goal in cutting up the corpse of the Demon Lizard was to see if he could find the rumored Magic Beast Crystal Core.
It is said that in the bodies of powerful Magic Beasts, a large number of Energy Particles may accumulate and possibly form so-called Crystal Core crystals.
These Crystal Cores have a mysterious and complex composition and are materials that many Magic Potions and alchemy experiments require, hence they are highly valuable.
Generally, they are only found within Magic Beasts of First Rank and above; they are rarely seen on Zero Rank Magical Beasts.
Ronan was hoping to try his luck, and now it seemed…
that he might have actually come across one?
After hollowing out half of the cavity of the Two-headed Demon Lizard, he finally found the source of the cracking sound, but Ronan was sorely disappointed.
They turned out to be a clutch of eggs.
The size of a fist, held together by yellow and white vascular plasma, there were seven or eight in total, and some were even cut open by Ronan’s sword, looking rather disgusting.
“I didn’t expect this fellow to be female…
No wonder it was so vengeful…”
“These eggs aren’t even mature yet… freewebnøvel.com
oh well, take them back to boil or fry, it’s said to be quite nourishing…”
Ronan shook his head, holding back his disgust, he took out the remaining unbroken Two-headed Demon Lizard eggs, and casually cut off a few tens of pounds of Demon Lizard Meat, and collected some Demon Lizard Blood, Demon Lizard Skin…
and stuffed them all into his Waist Storage Bag.
After all, his main purpose wasn’t hunting Magic Beasts, and he wasn’t even sure if the meat of the Two-headed Demon Lizard was edible, so he didn’t plan on taking much.
He cleaned the bloodstains on the black longsword with snow and sheathed it back into the Magic Wand’s scabbard.
Ronan tapped the [Clean] rune on his Magic Robe, removing the filth and bloodiness from himself, and then started heading towards the direction outside the forest.
This trip turned out to be quite fruitful.
Not only did he retrieve his own belongings, but he also unexpectedly got a piece of a First Rank Magical Tool, as well as Two-headed Demon Lizard eggs, Demon Lizard Meat…
It also confirmed something—the Tree House District in the forest is indeed much safer now.
But as for living there…
it still feels quite risky…
He returned to town, to Water Drop Street, his own dwelling place, uneventfully.
Ronan put away his belongings, then he took the pine mushrooms and wild mushrooms he picked along the way, along with two rabbits he easily caught, headed over to Old Wells’ and the others’ house.
He didn’t take the Magic Beast Meat not because he was stingy, but for low-level apprentices like Old Wells and the others, this stuff was almost like a poison that accelerated the decay of their bodies; only a robust man like Ronan who practiced Body Forging could enjoy it casually.
First, he went to Old Wells’ house, but found nobody there.
The neighbors, Jacob and the Jolin couple, were also out.
Ronan wandered around and ended up at Vinicia’s house door.
He knocked on the door.
After a while, the door opened.
After opening the door, Cheryl ran barefoot back, climbed onto a tall stool, holding a book, reading while letting Vinicia manipulate her hair.
Vinicia was giving her a haircut.
Ronan walked in slowly, an orange-red flame burned in the fireplace inside the house, bright and warm, with thick cashmere carpets underfoot, and everything was neatly and properly arranged, looking very cozy.
Much better than his own house.
Ronan put down what he was carrying and asked, “Where are they?”
Vinicia didn’t speak, but Cheryl jumped to answer.
“Grandpa Wales went out for something, Brother Jacob went looking for you, and Uncle Jolin and Aunt Jolin have gone into town to buy gifts!”
“What gifts?”
Ronan was curious.
“Barry and Shaun said they’re treating everyone to dinner tonight!”
Cheryl spoke quickly and crisply, and after finishing, she loudly asked Ronan, “Lord Ronan, would you like Sister Vini to cut your hair as well?
Your hair has gotten so long!”
Vinicia, standing behind Cheryl, quickly blushed, and Ronan readily agreed.
“Alright.”
His hair hadn’t been tended to for a good half-year; indeed, it was time for a trim.
Seeing Ronan’s consent, Cheryl happily jumped down from the high stool and swiftly ran to fetch a chair for Ronan.
Half a minute later, Ronan sat in the chair, beginning his first haircut experience in this world with a strange feeling.
Vinicia’s movements were light, and she was nearly silent while cutting hair.
Ronan could only hear the rustling sound of his hair falling.
Cheryl, holding a Wizard Book, lay next to the fireplace and watched Ronan intently, as if she found his upright and cautious sitting posture quite amusing.
Ronan suddenly thought of Cheryl’s earlier words, so he picked up on the previous topic, asking, “Why do Barry and his son want to treat us to a meal?”
Ever since Wizard Barry took his son to live with his uncle, who was an assistant mentor at the academy, they never lost contact with these people, occasionally dropping by to visit.
But they had never invited them over before, and this was the first time they had taken the initiative to invite guests for dinner.
Ronan found it odd.
“It’s probably some good news worth celebrating.”
Cheryl answered like a little adult.
Ronan nodded and asked no more.
At that moment, Vinicia standing behind him spoke in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s buzz.
“Jo…
the Jolin couple has given up their lease and plans to move back to the Tree House District after this month.”
Ronan’s eyes flickered, but he didn’t speak.
After a moment, he spoke slowly, “I’ll send some Magic Stone over later.”
“You’ve already helped everyone a lot.”
Vinicia said softly, her hands not stopping, “We’re planning to go back too, this place…
isn’t suitable for us.”
Ronan fell silent.
He was actually well aware of everyone’s dire financial straits.
Those who chose to live in the Tree House District were lower-level Wizards who lacked any particular skills and struggled to make a good living in town.
In these times of war, facing prices several times higher than usual, many had quickly exhausted their meager savings.
Over the past few months, Ronan had been providing covert assistance to each member of his team under the guise of “paying for meals” among other excuses.
But now they were at their wit’s end.
Their temporary team seemed to have reached the day when they had no choice but to disband…
Thinking this, Ronan felt Vinicia stop cutting.
His haircut was done.
Cheryl had already excitedly brought over a mirror, struggling to hold it above her head, her eyes fixated on Ronan’s face as if they were full of twinkling little stars.
Ronan looked in the mirror.
The bright mirror reflected a handsome and spirited young face, his chestnut, slightly curly hair neatly falling behind his shoulders, held lightly by a delicate silver hairband.
With his deep, lake-blue eyes reflecting below, the person in the mirror seemed both mysterious and calm as a Wizard, and as elegant and composed as a Noble.
This was a brilliance unique to Ronan.
“The haircut is very good, Vinicia.”
“Thank you.”
Ronan brushed a stray lock of hair off his shoulder and said softly.
