Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel-Chapter 946 - 18: The End and the Beginning
Endless void, above the river of time.
"Sleeping" Charlotte floats quietly above countless fragments of history.
Her figure is illusory, not an entity, but merely a projection of will.
And if one looks closely, they will discover that the true form behind that projection is not a divine position or divine fire, but a crimson book.
Charlotte calmly gazes at the river of time below.
As she personally writes history, the shattered river of time has already been largely repaired.
Beginning from her crossing into the ancient era, until she bid farewell to Artemis and chose to "sleep."
The missing history is no longer blank, filled in personally by her, and those blank histories after her "sleeping" also start to appear under Artemis's impetus.
The river of time leaps out of time and space.
And here, Charlotte can clearly see through the countless newly added historical images what happened after she left.
She saw the elves' eastern crossing, the rise of the bloodline, and also saw "Lilith" as in past history, becoming the "true" blood True Ancestor.
She also saw the premature resurgence of the primordial will, saw the division of the bloodline, saw the isolated and helpless Artemis anxiously searching for her slumbering place.
Seeing the bloodline she crafted falling victim to primordial pollution again, seeing Artemis's face of despair, at times Charlotte couldn't help but want to intervene.
But she knew she cannot intervene.
"Keep calm, I must keep calm."
"Even suffering heavy damage, the history in the current river of time is ultimately the initial entity's domain."
"Everything hides its power, unless the world ends, I cannot completely kill it."
"Now Mireya's history ultimately revolves around it, if I act now, it will still only result in destined fruitless 'change', what I need is not 'change' history, but... create history!"
Indeed, Charlotte was never truly "asleep".
The so-called "sleeping" was merely to deceive the initial entity, back when the West Continent was destroyed, Charlotte realized a fact she had to face—if relying only on conventional means, she could not banish or kill the initial entity.
It was hopeless; the initial entity was too deeply bound to the Mireya World.
Its laws are everywhere, everything hides its power.
Even the river of time had its endpoint set by it, no matter how the middle history is filled, the final endpoint will not change.
That is, the initial entity will inevitably resurge, and... will surely reclaim all its power!
In other words, unless Charlotte chooses early world-ending, destroying and reshaping the entire world along with time and space before that final node arrives, she couldn't possibly kill it.
But...
"If it's world-ending, then what's the point of everything I'm doing now?"
Charlotte shook her head.
Destruction is always easier than creation.
She already holds the creator status, it wouldn't be impossible to choose world-ending, but once that happens, everything of Mireya would cease to exist.
Perhaps she could use her great power to create another world, or she could leave this universe to find another world possibly adaptable.
But in such a scenario, apart from herself, everything she once knew, all she experienced, would no longer exist.
Truly no longer exist, even she must "forget" the disexistence, or it cannot be called "world-ending."
However, even so, the initial entity might not really be killed.
After all, the initial entity also holds creator status; it may flee.
Moreover, what would be the meaning of that?
Now she already has the capital to confront the initial entity, if merely for survival, she could flee this world, only the initial entity which uses Mireya as nourishment may not necessarily chase her after fully restoring its power.
The reason she still wants to confront the initial entity is not wanting it to devour the Mireya World, wanting to completely eliminate this hidden threat.
So...
"I can't fight in its domain, but should... fight in my domain."
Thinking this, Charlotte once again gazed at the river of time.
Without her balance, the initial entity quickly regained control over "history".
She saw "Lilith"'s "fall," saw the division of the bloodline, she also saw a furious Haral breaking with the bloodline, astonishingly establishing the Holy Royal Court, chasing down those bloodline polluted by the initial entity targeting "Lilith."
She saw Haral developing the Holy Royal Court, trying to awaken her with the Holy Royal Court's faith, she even heard those prayers and calls from historical fragments.
But she did not respond.
She saw the initial entity's power reappear on Haral, trying to compete with it for control over the Holy Royal Court, she saw Haral once again use himself as a cage, attempting to imprison the initial entity.
However, everything could not change the course of history.
"Already happened history cannot be changed." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
This law left by the initial entity began fully functioning after Charlotte no longer interfered with the restoration of historical fragments.
And the initial entity, realizing Charlotte's great enemy, began action.
It began actively repairing the lost history, and crazily searched throughout Mireya for Charlotte's whereabouts.
Unfortunately, it is destined not to find her.
Charlotte had long leapt out of the river of time, standing in the endless void, coldly observing it all.
But the initial entity could not do this, so it was destined not to find Charlotte's traces.
This is also the price of being bound to all things.
The initial entity fused its power with the Mireya World, gaining highest authority, successfully turning everything of Mireya into its power-growing resources, but likewise, it was trapped by Mireya World's "weight".
The river of time is a higher position than the present world.
Unless it peels its power from the Mireya World, the initial entity cannot leap out of all this.
This is also why it retained the law, "already happened history cannot be changed."
As for now, all it could do was fill all the missing history, completely repair any loopholes Charlotte might exploit regarding the current world's history.
Charlotte did not stop it.
She continued coldly observing it all.
She saw the Holy Royal Court continuously growing, she saw the establishment and fall of the Yonette Empire, she saw the initial entity's tendrils reaching every corner of the world, even the Elf Clan wasn't spared.
She saw... the initial entity pretending to be asleep, in fact attentively observing everything, waiting for her appearance.
Thus...
Millennia passed by slowly.
Holy Calendar 1428.
Bolder Duchy, Castel Manor.
Accompanied by a crisp cry, the ancient Castel family welcomed the birth of an heir.
The young Count Castel was overjoyed and chose a resounding name for his newborn daughter—Charlotte.
But unfortunately, not long after the Countess was born, the young Count couple perished in a Flame Demon Disaster sweeping Bold City, while the young Countess's foundation was damaged by the invasion of magic power, thus becoming progressively sickly weak.
Fifteen years later.
The sickly young Countess ultimately couldn't endure the torment of illness and closed her eyes forever.
A familiar sense of calling came from the present world.
Through the ceaselessly evolving time fragments, looking towards the Castel family who had long been corrupted by primordial power, Charlotte knew her time had come.
This is the end of everything.
Also, the start of everything!
Crimson light blooms on her, her gaze falls upon the elderly woman.
The elderly woman's chanting spell quietly transforms, the direction of summoning subtly changes.
Meanwhile, Charlotte incarnates into a streak of crimson flow, accompanied by an otherworldly soul successfully crossing space-time under her guidance, descending upon Castel Manor.
The next moment, the pearl of Castel, the prematurely deceased Countess Charlotte de Castel, slowly opened her confused eyes.
