Chapter 92: Ch 92: The Truth Comes out - Part 1

The last thing the saintess recalled was sitting in the carriage that was to take her to the capital once more. The high priest had asked for her help, and she had almost hesitated before agreeing.

But halfway through the road, her carriage had struck a rock, and she had gotten down to check on it.

One minute, she was checking the damage; the next, she had been knocked out and brought to another kingdom, with Lady Reina sitting in front of her and welcoming her back to the world.

"You don’t need to worry too much, Saintess Rosalyen. You are here only as a temporary measure to make sure things go well. Your presence can ruin a well-planned surprise too early."

Lady Reina spoke softly, but her voice sounded almost cold, telling the saintess that she had better not press her luck.

Still, she felt too curious to sit still, and she was not able to hold herself back from asking more questions.

"I am just curious. Was the one who asked you to kidnap me Prince Kaiden? Or was it someone else?"

She kept a close eye on Lady Reina’s reactions as she asked this question. But there was not a single change in her expression that told the saintess anything. The small and cold smile remained the same the whole time.

"Hmm, that is not something for you to worry about. Anyway, about the food. Would you like to have something hot or cold? You can have anything you like."

Reina kept smiling, and the saintess sighed before giving up.

She had tried her best, but it did not seem as if Lady Reina was going to budge. So she decided to give up and enjoy royal treatment as a guest for now.

Who knows when she would get a chance like this again?

The preparations for the tea party continued under Prince Kaiden and Princess Danielle’s watchful eyes.

Those who wanted to cause trouble no longer got a choice, and they were forced to behave (mainly because of Prince Kaiden’s presence).

And finally, it came time for the tea party, and everyone who was invited showed up on time. They felt excited to see how the tea party would play out in front of everyone.

Prince Kaiden entered with Shuu, and that made people gasp and realize that there had been a shift in power within the imperial castle. Still, all watched in anticipation as the couple took their place.

Lady Sera arrived not too long after, her regal self walking with slow and deliberate steps.

According to rumors, she had been sick for the past few days, but none of it showed on her face. She also held a bundle in her arms that looked like a baby.

Behind her, both her father and the high priest came forward with soft and deliberate steps and took seats at the main table.

"I see that even the high priest decided to visit us this time. May I ask what brought you here today?"

Prince Kaiden asked in a cheerful voice, causing everyone to hold their breath in anticipation.

They wondered what the high priest would say this time and whether it would be something worth gossiping about.

But the high priest did not scold Prince Kaiden. In fact, he simply took a seat and looked at Prince Kaiden with a patient expression on his face.

"I came here because the matter at hand is a grave one, and I felt like I had to interfere. As you know, there was a prophecy regarding your partner and the future of this kingdom. Silver-white hair and golden eyes-that is your destiny. Who else could it be but Lady Sera? Now that you have a child with her, it’s time to fulfill your destiny and marry her."

The high priest declared, and everyone gasped.

Lady Sera looked proud, and she handed the child in her arms to her father. It caused the hood to come down, and silver hair immediately became visible.

But she ignored the child and walked toward Shuu with confident steps.

"I am usually a patient person, but I have felt conflicted ever since I heard the prophecy. But I soon realized something-I am your destiny. I am the only person who matches that description. I will not have a fraud take you away from me."

Lady Sera had reached Shuu by now and grabbed his veil. But she suddenly felt a sense of uneasiness when no one stopped her actions.

In fact, Prince Kaiden had a small smile on his face, almost as if he was expecting a good show.

But as nervous as it made her, she still felt like she had to show the world the truth. So she grabbed the veil in front of her and pulled it away.

A loud gasp filled the area as golden met golden. The silver-white hair on Shuu’s head was visible, and he looked a little stressed from all the attention.

Prince Kaiden stood up, grabbed the veil that Lady Sera had dragged off Shuu’s face, and put it back in place.

No one moved for a whole minute, trying to absorb what had happened. And then, someone finally spoke up.

"Holy fuck-! That was..."

"He looks like Lady Sera..."

"The prophecy... could it be about him, then?"

"But the child...?"

People continued to speak around her, but Lady Sera felt like the ground had slipped from under her feet.

She was not sure what was happening, but she knew it was not something good.

’Why... Why does he look like me? No, his eye color is a little different, and so is his hair. But still...! The prophecy...!’

She immediately looked toward the high priest and her father, who both had tense expressions on their faces. She was not sure what to do about this.

Suddenly, the high priest stood up.

"That child beside you is under a curse and is deceiving you. I can prove it as well. If you would allow me, I would show you that the only one for you is Lady Sera."
