[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 66: Ch : New Royal Tailor
"You should not have done that. What if this causes a rift between you and Lady Sera? You should go and apologize to her...."
Shuu told Prince Kaiden with an awkward expression on his face. But Prince Kaiden just smiled when he looked at him.
"Don’t worry too much. I will talk to Sera and get her to come around. This small fight won’t be able to put a rift between us."
Shuu did not say much to that. He just felt an uncomfortable feeling in his chest at what had happened.
Seeing how Shuu looked uncomfortable, Prince Kaiden continued to reassure him.
"Actually, I have been told by multiple people that I was too soft on Sera before and I am spoiling her. I never paid attention to it, but maybe I should have. As much as I love her, I do want her to be a good queen to our people."
Prince Kaiden sounded fond of Sera, and it made Shuu’s stomach twist in jealousy.
"I see...still, you should not be too hard on her..."
Shuu reminded Prince Kaiden, now trying to mask his discomfort. But Prince Kaiden just chuckled back at him.
"Don’t worry too much. Sera is just as dependent on me as I am on her. We will make up with each other before you know it. For now, we should do something about your dress. Hmm, this golden material looks like it would suit your eyes."
Prince Kaiden picked up the same golden cloth Lady Sera had been eyeing before. It was a beautiful silk shade with jewels embedded into it.
"It’s...too fancy for me. Besides, I am not planning to show my face. So I am not sure if this is something I should wear. It seems to suit Lady Sera more."
Shuu’s voice was subdued when he spoke. He was not lying when he said that this dress suited Lady Sera more. The color was far too vibrant for someone like him. Not to mention, Lady Sera already had her eyes on it.
If he took it, then he was afraid that she would have even more reason to dislike him.
"I see. So you don’t like this material? Don’t worry. I have the perfect material for you. But first, we should call for another tailor. I guess I have no choice but to call for the previous imperial tailor."
Becky had been chosen as the imperial tailor once the previous one, Madam Martha, retired. She had not wanted to give her position to Becky because she was too unprofessional. But because of Sera, she had finally agreed.
Shuu was not sure if this was the best thing to do, but he did not have a reason to tell Prince Kaiden no anymore.
Besides, he was well aware that his agreement did not matter much. Prince Kaiden would do what he wanted to do anyway.
As expected, Miss Martha was called to the imperial palace within two hours, and she looked surprised at the call.
"Prince Kaiden, why have you called for this old lady?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Lady Martha was hardly at retirement age. At most, she looked about forty to fifty years old, and the retirement age in the empire was around seventy.
Shuu had a feeling that there was more happening behind the scenes, but he did not want to make any assumptions.
"Sorry for calling for you so suddenly, Miss Martha. This is an emergency. I am sure you know who Shuu is. I want you to make tea-party clothes for him by tomorrow. I have the material ready for you to use."
Miss Martha looked surprised, but not enough to give a visible reaction.
"I...see. And why have you not asked Becky about this? As the imperial tailor, it is her duty to look after such things. I don’t see why I am needed."
Lady Martha was a daring woman. Most people would not even have asked Prince Kaiden why they were called, much less show a rude side.
"Well, I would have liked Becky to attend to her duties as well, but unfortunately, she had other priorities. So that’s why I sent her to be Sera’s personal tailor. Now the post of imperial tailor is open once more."
Prince Kaiden’s smile was professional and polite. But it still sent a shiver down Lady Martha’s back. Even her assistant looked shocked at what Prince Kaiden had just told them.
"You...demoted Becky? I never thought I would see the day something like this happened. Anyway, you said you wanted a dress for your companion? Bring me the material and let me see your contractor’s face."
Shuu grabbed his veil to pull it over his face. He did not want to show his face in front of anyone.
"I am afraid that my companion is not too fond of showing his face. You will have to make his dress and a veil as well."
Lady Martha looked annoyed by that request. But she also seemed to understand why Shuu had made such a request.
"I get it. I will make a dress like that. But I do need to see your companion’s face to make his veil. If it’s too uncomfortable, then I will send everyone out for now."
Shuu did not like that he had to show his face, but he also felt like he had no choice. He did not want to make things more difficult for Prince Kaiden, so he nodded.
Lady Martha sent everyone out of the room and locked it before she gave Shuu a go-ahead.
Shuu sighed before he pulled his veil back, and Lady Martha let out a gasp.
"Y-Your features...? Are they natural? How can you also look exactly like Lady Sera...? What about your parents?"
She asked but quieted herself. Only a handful of people knew about the prophecy and Lady Sera’s connection.
"I don’t know. I was born without the goddess’s blessing and was abandoned at the temple. I am afraid I don’t have an answer to your question."
Shuu apologized, and Madam Martha looked sorry and also a little embarrassed.
"I-I see. Don’t feel bad about it. It’s also reasonable why you want to keep your looks hidden, and I think it’s the best choice. A-Anyway, about your clothes. What material are you thinking of using, Prince Kaiden?"
The more Madam Martha spoke, the more she felt like she was saying the wrong thing. So she decided to change the topic and turned toward Prince Kaiden.
The crown prince had an unhappy frown on his face at the conversation, but he also quickly changed the topic when Madam Martha did and brought out a pure white cloth from who-knew-where.
