[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 46: Ch : Royal Visit
’Tsk, why did I have to be stuck here like this? This was supposed to be a visit by me alone to surprise the hero and gain his recognition. So why did I get stuck bringing the worst person here possible?’
"Is my presence putting you in an awkward situation, Saintess? If so, then I can get off here and make my own way..."
"Of course not. Accompanying you to the temple is my pleasure, Lady Sera, Prince Yunn. You are the beloved people of the goddess’s chosen hero, after all."
Saintess Rosalyen plastered a smile on her face as she looked at the two people in front of her.
"I see. I am grateful that you took my request. As you know, my health is rather fragile, causing me to get sick often. But if the saintess is with me and keeps healing me, then I am sure I will be fine."
Sera extended her hand toward the saintess, causing Rosalyen to take that hand and instantly try to heal her.
There was a little blockage that felt like tiredness, but she could not see anything majorly wrong with Lady Sera.
But her complexion did look bad, and her results came back as bad most of the time, which assured everyone that something was wrong with her for sure...
And it was something bad enough that neither the royal family nor the temple could solve.
"Tsk, I still don’t know why both of you are chasing after my brother. Let him be free for the journey, and he will come back when it’s time."
Prince Yunn expressed his dislike for the pair he was sitting with, and they ignored him.
"Ah, I cannot wait to meet Kaiden again. He would be so happy to see me as well, right? But what should I do if he were to shed tears as soon as he sees me? My maids were too worried about me as well..."
Lady Sera bragged, causing the other two to roll their eyes at her actions. But she did not care about their reactions.
The carriage quickly pulled into the holy sanctuary, and they got off. The head priest himself came to receive them all.
"Welcome, Saintess Rosalyen. It is an honor to have you and your guests here... I see Lady Sera and Prince Yunn decided to accompany you as well. I will have extra rooms prepared for you all."
The head priest looked as strict as ever, but there was a slight hint of hesitation in his expression.
Saintess Rosalyen was about to address him when Lady Sera spoke first.
"Can you tell me where Prince Kaiden is? I came here specifically to give him a surprise. I am sure he would be so happy to see me-"
"Unfortunately, Prince Kaiden left yesterday. It was an emergency, and he did not tell anyone where he and his companions went. We sent you a message, but it does not look like it reached you in time."
The smile on Lady Sera’s face slipped instantly.
"K-Kaiden left already? But I came here specifically to meet him. H-How is that possible?"
Lady Sera’s eyes were instantly filled with tears, and her maids quickly ran toward her to console her.
"My lady, it’s fine. He did not stay because he had no idea you were coming."
"If it’s only been half a day, he might not have gone too far. We can send a letter to him and ask him to meet you..."
A few maids suggested this, but Lady Sera shook her head.
"Let’s not bother him anymore. He must be too busy if he left like this. It’s alright. I can wait for his return."
Lady Sera declared, and her maids instantly started praising her.
The head priest and Prince Yunn were the only ones who had slightly annoyed expressions on their faces.
"Ah, now that you are here, please come in. Also, since you are all here, would you like to try picking the sacred relics again? It has been some time since you last tried."
The head priest asked, and Lady Sera was the first one to deny. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"We should not. They are sacred relics-"
"What’s wrong? Are you scared? We all know no one else but the hero can pick them up. You should still try it anyway."
Prince Yunn provoked Sera, and she had no choice but to do it.
Saintess Rosalyen went first, and she felt a spark pushing her hand away. Unlike her, Prince Yunn was able to touch the relic but not pick it up.
As for Lady Sera... she was not even able to get close. The second she took too close of a step, the relic pushed her back.
"I see. Well, this was expected. I will have someone show you to your rooms."
The head priest told the guests, but only Prince Yunn stayed behind.
"You... What are you hiding? I am sure there was a reason behind your questions and this test."
The head priest sighed before he looked at Prince Yunn.
"Prince Yunn, does the royal family have any records about the sacred relics ever being picked up by someone who was not the chosen hero?"
The head priest asked, and Prince Yunn just scoffed.
"Of course not. That is not possible... unless..."
He trailed off, and the head priest sighed before he told him the truth.
"We were not able to test these relics, but the current companion of the crown prince-the one abandoned by the goddess-managed to uncover another sacred relic, and he was able to touch it and move it around. I am sure you must have heard it by now."
Prince Yunn looked shaken by the news.
"Wait-! This was not a rumor but the truth? How... no, more importantly, what does this even mean?"
The head priest sighed.
"I don’t know. But one thing is certain-things are changing, and in a way that is not predictable. We will need to put things back on track before a tragedy happens."
The head priest declared, causing Prince Yunn to rub his forehead.
Outside the room, both Saintess Rosalyen and Lady Sera heard this conversation and felt their worldview shatter.
Lady Sera looked especially shaken by the truth.
’N-No way-! This does not mean anything. Prince Kaiden is mine... he has always been mine. He promised me... there is no way-! I will show his current "companion" his place once we meet. I will make sure he pays for causing me all this stress.’
Lady Sera felt like she was losing her mind with anger, but she still did not break her facade.
