Chapter 353: 353: Safe Now.

Eden took a step forward, his eyes fixed on Kyle, who lay beneath him, ready to accept anything thrown his way.

He let the thoughts run through his mind, contemplating what to do with Kyle. It would be best if he ended him right here and now. It would be best for everyone.

But a part of him didn’t wish to...

And just as he was about to raise his hand to strike, Kyle snapped.

"Now!"

Eden stiffened; he could feel someone behind him. Immediately, he snapped his fingers to protect himself at least.

Mr. Albert was about to use a gem against him—a gem that would pierce through Eden temporarily and leave him weak.

Eden dodged the attack, and Mr. Albert didn’t bother striking again. He ran toward Kyle, who was already calling for him.

"Quick, let’s go!" Kyle snapped as Mr. Albert pulled him by the hand, and the two of them disappeared into thin air.

Eden stood there, staring at the smoke that filled the spot where they had been just seconds before. He didn’t move.

Eden could have gone after them if he wanted to. He could track them down and follow wherever they went.

But he didn’t want to. A part of him didn’t wish to go after them. So he stood there, staring into thin air for a while.

And soon, he turned and walked away.

Eden soon arrived at the prison room where Elvis and Lysander were being kept. He casually made his way through and reached the spot where they were held.

He only ran a finger over the lock and chain, and it broke open immediately.

Elvis and Lysander didn’t look up. They both lay there, almost unconscious. They were too weak to even lift their heads to see who had entered.

Eden slowly made his way into the prison room and stared down at them. He sighed. Lysander didn’t seem conscious at all, so Eden didn’t bother waking him.

He slowly bent down before them, and immediately Elvis forced his head up, his eyes meeting Eden’s.

He gasped, a sharp smile escaping his lips as he struggled up to his knees.

"You don’t have to get up... Don’t..." Eden tried to stop him. But Elvis didn’t listen. He was soon on his knees, his hands stretching out toward Eden as he held him tightly by the hands and stared into his face.

Eden could see the spark in his eyes. He was excited.

"You’re hurt..." Eden slowly smiled as he gently ran his fingers over Elvis’s cheeks, feeling the bruises. "Don’t move too much..."

Elvis forced a smile. "Long time no see..." he gasped. "It’s nice to meet you, again..." He brought his hands up to cup Eden’s cheeks while staring into his eyes.

Eden smiled back. "Same. Nice to meet you, again."

Eden took Elvis and Lysander to Adrian’s house in the capital.

He took both of them into separate rooms, and Adrian had physicians look after them. The physicians tended to them through the night.

The next day, Eden met with Adrian and Helen at the table where they were conversing over a meal.

"I guess the plan worked," Helen sighed. "We saved the two of them. But at what cost...?" She stared at them.

News had already reached them as early as that morning. Everyone was talking about how the Wizard of EL had infiltrated the palace and caused chaos.

The news went on to explain how the Princes of Valencrest had taken sides with the Wizard of EL, thus making the Kingdom of Valencrest an accomplice to the wizard.

Now word was spreading that the Emperor had given an order to find and bring the Wizard of EL to him—and also to find and bring everyone close to the wizard as well.

Adrian sighed. "I already saw it coming. It wouldn’t simply end with Eden meeting him; he wouldn’t let him off. And this is his way of making sure he finds him."

"Now he’s after not only him, but everyone around him..." Helen said. "Which means you’re not safe either...?"

Adrian shrugged. "We’re generally not safe here. Because the Emperor is aware of this building I stay in. So in a short while, he might actually come looking for us here," he explained.

Helen sighed. "Well, that escalated really fast..."

Eden sighed. "Which means we should find somewhere to hide for the meantime. That’s if we don’t wish to fight him now..." he explained.

Adrian nodded. "Trying to strike now wouldn’t be the best decision. So I think we have to go into hiding for the meantime..."

They sat there, thoughts running through their minds as they tried to decide what to do about the current situation—the situation that had escalated more than they had gauged.

"But what about the two of them?" Helen asked, staring at Eden. "The two princes. Are they okay?"

Eden casually nodded. "They’re still unconscious, but they’re okay. The physician said they’ll be better after some rest."

Helen nodded. "That’s good then."

They were still brainstorming a perfect place to go into hiding when suddenly a guard walked into the dining room and made his way to Adrian.

He whispered something to Adrian, who slowly nodded. The guard left.

"What is it?"

Adrian stared at them. "I guess we have a visitor."

"A visitor?" Eden blinked, staring at Helen, who also looked confused.

The visitor soon walked into the dining room to meet them, and Eden was surprised to see the Grand Duke, Leo.

Leo adjusted his glasses with a calm smile as he stared at Eden. "I was wondering where my student had been after causing so much trouble in the capital. I guess you’re here."

Eden slowly got to his feet, staring. "What... are you doing here...?"

Leo smiled. "I’m here to see you," he said, as Adrian watched him.

Leo scoffed as he added, "And also to offer some help in the little possible ways I could."
