(BL) Mafia Love; He who falls the hardest loses-Chapter 155: A ridiculous request
He could not remember what the man’s favourite foods were so he concluded that it was only a coincidence. The staff left and they were all alone.
They both remained silent although it was easy to see that they both had a lot to say to each other. A heavy blanket of tension weighed heavily in the room but neither of them took the initiative to break the ice.
Their meal was served covering most of the table. Haruki stared with a glass of wine before eating a bit. When he felt satisfied, he relaxed and waited for the other man.
"Eat a bit more," Aiichiro softly suggested gesturing to the plates on the table. "I ordered so much for us."
Haruki glanced at the leftovers on the table but remained unmoving.
"Come on, don’t make me feel like I made you lose your appetite," Aiichiro said with a tired sigh as he placed down his chopsticks and leaned backwards a bit.
"Why would you think that?" Haruki asked. His face was calm but he didn’t bother to turn down the coldness in his tone.
The man before him was the man who caused the death of the prime minister’s son and caused his uncle’s death. The man was the one behind all that had worried for the past year.
The man smiled and leaned backwards completely but still holding up the countenance of a host someone whose territory Haruki walked into.
"You’ve found out," Aiichiro laughed and massaged his brow lightly before meeting Haruki’s gaze.
It was obvious that he wasn’t surprised. It was as though he was only announcing what he had known even before Haruki walked into the room.
Since he knew, there was no need to beat around the bush, waste time on playing the ignorant card.
"What do you want from me?" Haruki asked.
The man smiled and shook his head as he folded his hands over his chest. He watched Haruki as though he were seeing something interesting. "Don’t tell me you don’t know." He laughed and shook his head again in amusement, "I won’t believe you."
Haruki had always guessed what it was but it was something he didn’t even want to think about. He could still remember that night as they hung out after playing golf.
That night, somehow, all their other friends were either too much or had something urgent come up preventing them from meeting so they were the only ones. This was not the first time he had hung out with just one of his friends but this was the first time he was hanging out with only Aiichiro.
That was the night the man had attempted to kiss him. Aiichiro was handsome but Haruki had never wondered if he was sexy enough especially because he was far from the type of man he liked.
He had pushed the man away without hesitation and warned him never to do that again.
"I LIKE YOU!" Aiichiro had shouted reaching to hold his hand.
"Don’t," Haruki replied. They had been friends for over a year and he didn’t want such an event to change their friendship.
"Why?"
"You are not my type."
The man went on his knees before Haruki as he replied, "I will do anything to be your type."
"I always top," Haruki had told the man while he thought of other things he could say to deter the man from the complicated feelings. Although he was already prepping other defences, that was enough to pursue the man away.
He had noticed the man’s shoulders slump as he raised his head to look up at Haruki, "I will be careful. I won’t let you get hurt."
"You’re drunk and in case you don’t know, I would never let a man top me. I would rather die than do that." Haruki remembering how firm his tone had been compared to what happened after he met Hiroshi, could not recognise himself now.
He had made up his mind then never to bottom for anyone and the thought of doing that then was so disgusting he was unable to even imagine doing it. How could he accept a man when the reasons he was with men were because they were able to survive his harshness and because he could afford them?
To imagine himself in the same position as those men he vented on was disgraceful to him, it was an insult and he would have sent the man to his grave if it were someone else who said that.
The person however, who said it, came from a powerful old family and he didn’t have the energy to fight them. He knew Aiichiro was already strong enough to become heir and it was best not to make him his enemy.
Aiichiro’s family was known worldwide for their airline company and their aircraft manufacturing company among other businesses they had like weapon development.
They had a strong connection with the governments of quite a few powerful countries. Aiichiro had set strong roots in the underworld too which gave him the power he wanted to become the chosen heir.
"Or should I have simply ended your life the way you wanted?" Aiichiro laughed.
Haruki snapped out of his thoughts. He wondered if it would have been better to have killed Aiichiro when he had said the reason he was in love with him was that he thought Haruki was beautiful.
Aiichiro was just too calm making Haruki’s heart race. So this was the reason he tried so hard, losing sleep to conclude?
Haruki scoffed, he found it funny. The man should have moved on with life after all, but it was as though he had been avoiding him all these years.
"Do you know I forgot your existence?" Haruki asked seriously ignoring the man’s words.
"Yes, I thought as much," the man replied nodding leisurely. "I am glad you recognised me when we met last week."
"Why did you bother remembering what I said years ago?" Haruki asked hoping to make sense out of what the man had said.
"I never forgot you for once. I respected your decision. You would rather die than let another man top. I knew I didn’t stand a chance because we shared the same mindset about sex but how could you let someone else do it?"
Haruki narrowed his eyes slightly as he tilted his head. He shook his head and said, "I don’t know what you mean by that."
"At this point, I am certain you can never be with anyone else aside from that man. You’ve fallen in love with him."
Seeing he could not deny the position he had in bed with Hiroshi to get over this conversation, Haruki reached for a glass of wine. His grip on the glass tightened as he ruminated on the man’s words.
Had he fallen in love with Hiroshi? The feelings he had for the man, the companionship, the sex, they were things he wanted to have forever. However, he had not dared to taint it with the word, love.
"You can’t deny it."
Can he deny that he could have sex with anyone else aside from Hiroshi? It was something he had never thought about after all, he still needed to get married.
"Don’t even think about getting married. You won’t be able to touch a woman again in your lifetime but if we get together, imagine the power we would wield together. You won’t be without an heir. Since you can be on the receiving side, I can’t accept your rejection anymore."
How did the matters of his bedroom get out? The only person who should know was the doctor he was having sex with so he asked, "There is no way you would know what is happening behind my closed door."
"Unless I know what is happening in your bedroom . . . everything."
Haruki felt the urge to throw up. "Why did you kill my uncle and release the audio?" To think of what the man knew . . . it was something he was not mentally prepared to touch.
Aiichiro looked down and shook his head as he reached for his glass of wine
"Why kill the prime minister’s son?"
"Should I continue your questions for you?" Aiichiro chuckled placing his glass down after a sip. "Why did I kill your ex-lover?"
Haruki felt his whole being freeze. Shinya’s death was not natural? He realised that he had truly not seen all that the man had done.
"We haven’t even become friends then." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"I had to clean up your mess for you."
He could see that the man didn’t want to give him the answers to the questions he asked. He swallowed, it was annoying.
"End it with your doctor and come to me," Aiichiro ordered firmly meeting Haruki’s gaze.
Haruki’s gaze had turned cold. There was so much information released in a single lunch and he needed a moment to think about it.
"To put it simply, I was meant to be with you not him. Let him go or he would become another Shinya."
